Eggplant Margherita entree
Lisa S.

Feeling neutral about Buona Via - nothing to write home about. Service was outstanding from start to finish. I can't complain about that because the care and attention we received was spectacular. Our water glasses were constantly getting filled and the waitress popped over a few times to check in on us. We had a reservation and were seated earlier than the reservation time which was awesome. The decor throughout the restaurant was nice and Italian music could be heard through the speakers. The table linens felt premium. The bruschetta came out looking great but was soft. I mean, there was zero crisp to the bread. It's too bad because I genuinely enjoyed the flavor. I just never had bruschetta that didn't have a crunch to it. I ordered the eggplant margherita which came out looking exactly the same as the Chicken Parmesan. It looked like the same dish except not chicken. The eggplant could've had stronger flavor and thicker breading in my opinion. I added salt and pepper because it was slightly bland. The spaghetti tasted fine. Limoncello cake lacked lemon flavor. Lemon wasn't prominent enough. I'd recommend adding the zest of a lemon to make it stand out more. Buona Via is a wonderful place to grab some drinks at the bar but the food quality needs some improvement.

Oysters!

My family and I love this restaurant. Wonderful menu, reasonably priced, great service. It's become a family favorite.

Chicken parm a la vodka sauce

Under new ownership. The restaurant has a great setup, a huge bar and large formal dining room and outdoor shaded patio. The staff was super attentive and helpful. Had dinner with the family. I got the salad caprese to start which was a nice size portion and tomatoes were super fresh. For dinner I modified the chicken parmigiana to make it a la vodka and it was fabulous. Kam the new owner is doing a great job!

News Flash: One of their current specials is Tri-colored Linguine in a pesto cream sauce, julienned vegetables, baby shrimp and LOBSTER TAIL!! The couple to our right both ordered this special, the size and presentation of the lobster was impressive. I went with my old standby the Linguine Seafood as it has calamari in the dish and I don't like going to many weeks without indulging in calamari. The girlfriend went with the Tortellacci, the most magnificent large tortellini stuffed with braised veal, in a mushroom cream sauce. After having a few bites of my GF's dish I will honestly say as much as I love their linguine seafood the Tortellacci dish is even better. A serious must try (if you can't read in between the lines, stop what you're doing and come here for the Tortellacci!). I have recently attained the Rank of Duke of Buona Via, as this is my favorite Italian restaurant in Horsham as I have stated in my prior reviews. The drinks and food are top notch, and their dessert tray is nothing to sneeze at either. As always people SYOY!!!

The pork chop was delicious. So flavorful and juicy. My veal tortellini had a great mushroom sauce but the meat tasted like ground beef. Lobster #ravioli was tasty. The best part was the tuna tartar! Nice restaurant to try if you are ever in #horsham the space was beautiful. Our server was amazing and nice. The man at the entrance(which had answered the phone), not so much.

This place never disappoints. We enjoyed happy hour soooooo much! The new and expanded HH menu impresses. There are more cocktail offerings. Imbibed cold cosmos on this occasion. Enjoyed oysters for buck a shuck. Fresh and tasty per the usual. Tried the clams casino for the first time. Old school delicious. Our waitress was lovely. When we happened to mention we were celebrating our anniversary she surprised us with in house tiramisu. It was amazing.

New owners, you should give it a try. They also own Osteria Saporino on County Line Rd. They have a nice selection of seasonal cocktails. I had the Buono martini with lemon and rosemary. They have buck a shuck oysters on Monday and Wednesday. I had a half a dozen large tasty oysters with a side of Mignonette and cocktail sauce. My husband had the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were fresh and huge. We had the whole branzino filleted at the table. It was also fresh and nicely seasoned. It came with a side of roasted potatoes and Brussel sprouts with a lemon caper sauce on the side. We also had a cowboy ribeye in Marsala sauce with mashed and asparagus. The steak was large and cooked to the requested temp. The sauce tasted rich, like ot had been cooked for a long time. For the finish, we ordered a large slice of their carrotcake. The cream cheese icing and nuts did not disappoint over a moist l, flavorful cake. We are looking forward to more visits to see what else they will bring to their new place.

The staff were super friendly and checked in just enough without being annoying. The food was the best part for sure. Everything tasted fresh and actually well-seasoned, especially the seafood. You can tell it's not just thrown together--it had that real Mediterranean flavor. The portions were good too, I definitely left full. There's also a nice variety on the menu, so it's easy to find something you'll like. Overall, it's a really solid spot. If you're into seafood or just want something different with good flavor, I'd definitely recommend it. I'd go back for sure.

We were looking to try a different restaurant this weekend, and decided to try Seven Seas…read more We started with a yummy roasted eggplant remoulade with tomato. I put it on the fresh pita and it was an excellent starter. We ordered the Caesar Salad - it was very good - fresh, green leafy lettuce - crispy croutons, a sprinkling of grated cheese, and a delicious dressing. Next up, the Crab Bisque. I lived in Maryland for 30 years and had crab bisque many, many times. This was the first crab bisque that wasn't tomato based - it was a brownish, creamy version. It was more like chowder - although when I looked up 'bisque', it most certainly can be creamy. I might have been fine with the 'creamy version', but it lacked any crab flavor and had no crab in it - not one shred. I've never had any fish soup that had no fish in it. I took a few spoonfuls and left it. My partner tried it and came to the same conclusion. The entrees came next - I got the Seared Branzino and my partner got the Shrimp and Scallops. The Seared Branzino was okay - there were bites where I had a very fishy taste - and it was a very small piece of fish. My partner's Shrimp and Scallops came with steamed garlic spinach and mashed potatoes. The Scallops were tender and cooked perfectly - they were in a delicious sauce and had a very nice sear. However, the Shrimp were tough and chewy - we were both very surprised to have one item (scallops) so good, and another (shrimp) on the same plate, that was so bad. The steamed garlic spinach and mashed potatoes were very good. While our Caesar salad, Scallops and side dishes were very good, the rest of the meal was lacking.

The food had both highlights and disappointments: * Lobster Ravioli: Tasted very good, although the portion was small. The sauce was flavorful and enjoyable. * Cioppino: This was the standout dish of the evening. It was loaded with delicious seafood, and while the pasta was slightly overcooked, it was still a very good meal. * Penne alla Vodka: The sauce was delicious and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the pasta was overcooked, but we still enjoyed the dish overall. * Caprese Salad: This was disappointing. The mozzarella balls tasted like they came straight from a container, the tomato wedges were not ripe, and instead of fresh basil there was a dark green paste-like topping. It did not taste fresh. * Chicken Parmigiana: This was the weakest dish we tried. The chicken was neither crispy nor particularly tender or flavorful, and the penne pasta was very soft and overcooked. Bread with olive oil was provided, but salads were not included and had to be ordered separately. Overall, this is a decent restaurant with excellent service and some very flavorful dishes, but consistency in the food and pasta preparation could be improved.

The Arancini was very good as was the Special Grilled Octopus in a Hummus Salad. There were 4 of us and we all felt that the entrees were good but didn't rise to what our expectations were, based on other reviews. The Lobster Gnocchi was good but seemed to be missing the lobster. The best part of the Scallop Risotto was the perfectly seared Scallops but the risotto itself was just ok. The Fiochi di Pere was good but overall didn't have all that much flavor. The Chicken Parmigiana was a very generous portion of chicken and pasta but the Italian seasoning was almost overpowering. I don't like writing reviews like this but like I said, we're in the minority review-wise on this one. Give it a try. Our experience just wasn't as good as what we expected.

Another double date with our foodie friend's pick…read more And wow what a pick! A beautifully decorated (both outside and inside) quaint restaurant, with a visible pizza oven. We shared a literally beautiful antipasto for an appetizer. It boasted fresh mozzarella balls, eggplant, artichokes, sweet red peppers, prosciutto, and olives. We had a good and soft loaf of bread with a yummy olive oil and balsamic dip too. Our meals were ALL tremendous! We had pasta dishes - gnocchi marsala and fettuccine with clams - EXCELLENT! I had plenty of sauce left to dip the soft bread into :) The other couple had octopus (appetizer) and seafood atop squid ink pappardelle pasta. They loved their dishes as well. Of course we didn't have room for dessert, but our chocolate wine and other wines were definitely sufficient. BYOB's are great and money saving. This place is a bit of a haul but I hope to get back in the future !

We had heard about La Voglia and decided to try it out! We went on a Friday evening and it wasn't…read moretoo crowded. The restaurant has a warm feel to it and is decorated nicely. They serve a delicious homemade bread that's warm when it's brought the table. In addition, it's accompanied by a dish of olive oil, with balsamic vinegar and what I believed to be a spicy dusting of pepper. It was a little too spicy for me - however, I did like the addition of the balsamic as a change from just olive oil. I would skip the pepper though, unless you like spice. We ordered the Polpette as an appetizer; it's a 'tradition' of mine. If meatballs are on the menu, I will always order them. These lamb, veal and beef meatballs were very good, and the marinara sauce they came in was excellent! The sauce is actually a 'roasted pomodoro' gravy - which is an 'intensified' version of a classic Italian sauce. It's made by roasting the tomatoes at a very high heat and almost caramelizing them. A little feta was added to the sauce, which really highlighted those meatballs!! We split the order - as 5 meatballs is quite a large appetizer! We decided to share two entrees - the Beef Short Ribs and the Lobster Ravioli. I always ask if the short ribs are lean - our server responded they were very lean...and they were. Soft, tender and very flavorful large chunks of beef, with a deliciously rich gravy with mushrooms on a bed a creamy garlic mashed potatoes! It was a superb dish! The website said the Short Ribs were the restaurant's most popular meal. Next, the Lobster Ravioli. The dish was a very 'delicate' one, with a very subtle brandy cream sauce. It had chopped jumbo shrimp and peeled cherry tomatoes with the raviolis. While the sauce tasted fine, it needed 'something' - we added pepper which helped. The raviolis were good - we couldn't taste lobster in the cheese of the raviolis - we assumed it was there. The chopped shrimps though provided a nice additional seafood flavor. I like my raviolis tender - the kind that almost melt in your mouth. The pasta here was firmer - a little more 'al dente', but it was fine. We ended our meal with the Chocolate Mousse. Served in a martini glass, the mousse had a velvety texture with a deep dark chocolate flavor. It was very rich yet light and fluffy; a good choice for dessert!

You can tell Daniel (the owner) actually cares about how everything runs. The place is clean, organized, and everything flows smoothly without feeling rushed. And Christina... she's seriously the best. Super friendly, easy to talk to, and actually helps guide you through the menu. She was on point with the specials and made great recommendations. We even got into a conversation about her trip to Peru, which was a really cool touch it felt natural, not forced, and made the whole experience better. We started with the Leche de Tigre, and it was a perfect opener, fresh, citrusy, and packed with flavor. You get that brightness from the lime with just the right kick, plus the calamari added a nice texture. We also tried one of the specials, the causa, which was light but still full of flavor and a great way to start. For the mains, we went all in. The Cowboy Steak (18 oz bone-in ribeye) was easily the highlight, cooked right, super flavorful, and paired with the huancaína risotto and that huacatay butter... yeah, that combo is no joke. We also had the pollo a la brasa (special, marinated 24 hours), and you can tell it was super juicy, well-seasoned, and done right. We also had the pasta con mariscos, and this one deserves its own mention. Homemade pasta with shrimp, calamari, and mussels in a chupe-style tomato broth rich, flavorful, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Definitely one of those dishes you keep going back to. And I'm not even exaggerating... the table bread with the butter? We were eating like it was part of the main course. That butter is ridiculously good. Dessert sealed it. The lava cake with lucuma ice cream was warm, rich, and balanced out perfectly by the ice cream. We also tried the house-made guanábana sorbet, which was light, refreshing, and the perfect way to finish after a heavy meal. The vibe is what really ties it all together. It's casual enough to hang out with friends and talk, but still nice enough for a date night or bringing family. It doesn't try too hard, and that's exactly why it works. Overall, everything just clicked: food, service, atmosphere. No weak spots. Definitely coming back.
