Truffle & Smoke Potato Chips
Rachel R.

How many ways can I love this one place. OMGGGGG, Delectable amazing no notes. I went with my brother for dinner yesterday and everything was so extraordinary. Before we even got there they texted me to let me know about the best places to park. So thoughtful. I ordered the Cucumber Gimlet drink - super refreshing, delicious, went down very easy. My brother got the smoked drink which tasted -- smoked. Haha. He liked it. Then, the food... COME ON. I'll go in order of most to least favorite but they were all magnificent- Truffle & Smokehouse Potato Chips - COME ON. I can't even think to explain how good it was because when I try my body short circuits from all the pleasure I experienced eating this gloriousness. Black Tea Glaze Spare Ribs - I was so full by the time these came out but omggggg so insanely good. Salmon Tartare Tacos - Our waitress recommended this - not something I'd normally get but absolutely divine. Fried oysters - My brother preferred fried to regular (my preference) but these were very good - the oysters tasted super fresh. Duck samosa - Good! Stuffed with duck. Not what I expected but very good, waitress said this was her favorite thing on the menu. Squash hummus - So many unique flavors. Very good! We got the "Take 6" dessert to go home but I couldn't eat it hours later because I was still so full, but the bite I had was excellent. Service was amazing, food came out fast, it was bliss. They also gave us a little goat cheese toast gift from the chef and their perfect popcorn that I remember from the one time I went before. I feel like they may have given us extra chocolate my first time that they didn't give us this time but that's OK - I couldn't have stuffed in another morsel. But everything was SO GOOD. So flavorful. I found myself spending a bit of time trying to understand how such epic flavors could be put together, what goes into creating such exceptional bites. We went for a little stroll around Doylestown after - perfect evening.

A small restaurant that's full of delicious and unique flavors! The menu is tapas/small plates so you get a chance to try multiple different items. The heat of passion drink is like a spicy passionfruit margarita - it's both strong and spicy but sooo good! Some small plates we tried included the truffle potato chips, grilled halloumi, risotto cakes, salmon tacos, shrimp martini, blackened green beans, black tea glazed spare ribs, and the maryland crab cakes. Everything we tried was delicious but my favorite items were definitely the spare ribs and blackened green beans! This place can get pricey but it's so worth it for the quality of food that you get here!

Foodie's rejoice! This restaurant is an experience of flavors and unique combinations you will fall in love with. It's a Small establishment, but sets a great mood and the decor is well done. reservation is needed. Plan for a culinary adventure. Don't let "small plates" scare you - each bite is special, made with top quality ingredients explained with each course brought out. There was 3 of us and we left full and happy. Do not go here if you are a picky eater, not willing to try something if it sounds strange or if you are the type to ask for changes to a dish! This is for someone who can appreciate a talented and innovative chef who uses top quality ingredient's

I came here by car on a Sunday evening in late June 2022. Reservations were really easy because we called a couple hours beforehand on the same day and they had availabilities. They texted us and told us we could park for free across the street at the C&N Bank parking lot. It was a really warm summer night and we asked to sit outside. We were seated right by the bushes. The only downside was that there were a lot of bugs flying around and a couple landed on our plates. The food and service, however, was really good. They gave us a complementary gazpacho, flavored popcorn, and a chocolate sorbet for dessert. That last one, the waitress treated us to it because she said she wanted us to try it. We ordered the Tuna Crudo which could have used some acidity. The Kale Salad was very good. The Blackened Green Beans were also very good. It was candied with a hint of spice. The Crab Cakes were also very good but I could have done without it. The Foi Gras Sliders were terrific. The pear gave it the perfect crunch. We also got the Spare Ribs which I was too full to have but it tasted great when reheated the next day. We both got the Pomegranate Gingerale which was also very good. I would highly recommend this place if you're ever in Doylestown. I hear people drive all the way from Philly for their Chocolate Sorbet.

This is probably one of the best wine and tapas restaurants in Doylestown, if not the best. While it appears the food menu doesn't change much, there are specials offered. The cocktails were strong and well made. The food is flavorful and plenty of vegetarian options. The wine list is appropriate for the type of food offered. The only downside is that it closes a bit early and we get nervous that we may be rushed if we have a later reservation--even though that wasn't the case the night we went. Service was excellent. It's cozy and intimate and a great date spot. Will add to my rotation of go-to dinner and drink spots.

I had this restaurant bookmarked here on Yelp before we even moved to the area. We came late on a Saturday night to celebrate a new job offer. They were still firing on all cylinders at 9pm. We were on board for the small plates and while not all of our dishes are pictured, we can confirm that they were all fantastic. The drinks are phenomenal. They have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks too. My husband enjoyed the pomegranate ginger ale and I had the Honey Blossom. All of the food was wonderful. They bring the dishes out in pairings that make sense with each other and they did a great job with both the pairing and the pacing. Our top 2 were the ribs and the sliders. The ribs with the ice cream is unlike anything we've had before. Foie gras is my husband's new favorite flavor, full stop. Here's what we had, in order: Risotto Cakes Truffle & Smoke Potato Chips (on the house) Foie Gras Sliders Fried Oysters Lobster Rolls Black Tea Glazed Spare Ribs Duck Samosas Fried Apple Pie We waddled off stuffed to the brim so if you're worried about the small plates, I invite you to get into it and taste for yourself. The service is top notch. The staff is very knowledgeable and everyone helps each other out which is nice to see. The ambiance is immaculate. It's a tiny space but they make the most of it. Next time for date night, I'll request one of the tables in the front with the curtains. This was the best meal we've had in a long time, and we're ready to book another reservation. We'll be back soon with family & friends!

Today you are greeted with a warm and non cluttered space as you enter and a nice atmospheric feeling in the dining room. The Chef has changed since that time too, bringing a fresh new and exciting menu to the table as well as a 7 course Tasting menu you can also try - we went for the tasting at $130 pp and it was well worth it. It would be too lengthy to try to describe each dish but all but one ( the Larchmont Farm Nectarine) was extraordinary. There is a very small cocktail/wine list now. The most expensive wine being around $50 or so. If you BYO, there is a $25 corkage fee. All the staff were very friendly and informed and described each dish as it was presented. Most of the tables were full the entire night. Not an inexpensive meal but we will return and most likely just order from the regular menu.

We started with a prosecco from the Veneto and some nice appetizers. This was a five course menu preceded by cocktails. The ambiance was an older farmhouse and we sat at a long table with Gail our wine presenter/expert sitting across from us. There were approximately 18 guests. The kitchen was open for us to see and aromas were pleasant . The food was outstanding and we particularly enjoyed the pappardelle and Osso Buco my wife has some leftovers. The wines were perfectly paired and we really enjoyed them all. The Nizzi Barbera was notable. Service was great and Gail was excellent providing history and explanations of all the wines. The second pairing had a bit of an issue with a corked bottle but all was made right. The chef came out as each course was served to explain the dishes and their preparation. We will return when another wine dinner is offered. Mark & Nancy.

String beans, not my favorite vegetable, were delicious -- crisp and very garlicky. The menu says 'almondine' but I don't think they were. The beet puree is a nice aesthetic touch, albeit lacking distinct flavor. T went with the restaurant's spin on pot pie. The filling (roast chicken, carrots, onions, peas, celery and potatoes) was excellent. The pastry topping, somewhat brittle. We chose the Hattery because I had one thing in mind: al fresco dining. There are maybe five tables on the patio out front. The restaurant was formerly a hat factory (no surprise), cigar shop, shoe store and speakeasy during prohibition. It's located on the first floor of the historic Doylestown Inn, which is still in operation. (Note my photo of the lobby.) The Hattery's menu isn't extensive, but I think they cover most bases. It's worth a look if you happen to be downtown. But don't order a margarita if it's some kind of fruit concoction. We both gave it thumbs down.

The evening started perfectly with their signature homemade biscuit, followed by the chive popcorn. Every dish was delicious and expertly prepared. The Maize staff once again worked seamlessly in tandem, serving each course at just the right pace -- never rushed, never slow. Only one entry for the salad. This salad had shrimp which I personally don't eat, so I asked that they give my shrimp to my girlfriend on her salad. When the salad came out, no shrimp. When I asked why she was not given my shrimp, the owner came to me and said that I ordered the vegetarian salad, not an option on the menu by the way. So I said well now I'd want my shrimp can you bring it to me and he said that's not what I ordered. So for the price of three shrimp, I already knew I would never go back there. $110 per person I think they can afford three shrimp. Food was okay, not stellar but we did leave hungry and for that price in Doylestown that shouldn't happen. Had one shot which was pretty expensive, would have drank more but after the shrimp incident we decided not to spend another dollar. I won't be returning. They don't seem to understand customer service at this restaurant. If you do decide to go in the future, make sure you're careful about any live entertainment. We were under the impression that we would be able to stay for the show that was happening at 6:30 but since we had an early reservation we were told we could not stay. When we made the reservation there was an option to check that we wanted to attend this and we were able to make that check on the software.
