Don't go to TJ'S in the summer. I brought a digital thermometer to the bar and it's 86°, 60% humidity! We will never be back! Just a follow up, Mike wasn't happy with our review so we are banned from TJ'S! Just the kind of guy he is! We weren't going back anyway. His loss! Another follow up, since August 12, 2024 we spent $11,288.92 at TJ's. Roughly 30% of that was tip.($3,386.68) So, just from us, Mike will loose $4,000 per year, and his employees will loose $1,700 per year! read more

After all these years, TJ Smith's is still a decent choice but quality has slipped a bit and prices (as they are everywhere) are up. I paid $21 for a small caeser salad with ($12.50 to add shrimp) 5 nice big grilled shrimp. Alas, the salad was way overdressed. My man got a pizza with onion - nice thin crust. That was fine. I had not been here for several months but was looking forward to their delicious Corned Beef Ruben as it has always been perfect. What a disappointment this time. On my first bite it thought I was eating bacon, the corned beef was so crispy. As I ate more, I realized it was sliced very thin and filled with fat. I removed the beef and cut away as much fat as possible I could but it was such a disappointment. They now have laminated menus instead of the folded paper ones. Perhaps the menus are better bu the Ruben went for a 5 to a 1. I won't order that again. read more

TJ's has been a go to of ours for 20+ years, we've made some very good friends there. Yesterday we took my mother in-law for dinner. It was 85 degrees inside! We were dripping sweat, even my mother in-law who is in her 90's and always cold was uncomfortably hot. We mentioned it to our waitress and she said everyone has been complaining. The owners girlfriend actually walked by and gave us the stink eye for complaining! I'm not sure what is going on, menu is smaller, but food is still good. Owner and girlfriend need to appreciate their customers more. Maybe a Little, sorry, we're doing our best. Instead he sat in his air conditioner office. My son and I had dinner last night at TJ Smith's. The waitress regularly attended to us after we gave her our order. There is a large bar at TJ's and it was well attended especially during Happy Hour 4-6PM. We had the Combo appetizer which had baked potato cut in half long way with melted cheese topping it. Mozzarella sticks and large pretzel. It was very good. I had the stir fry with chicken and my son had a steak fajita wrap. All was very good. Plenty of parking. It's pretty full at happy hour. The ambience is nice. Clean restaurant. Credit cars taken without a surcharge. We enjoyed our meal. read more

Love happy hours! This was one of the best happy hours around (4pm-6pm). Still thinking about it today. Besides, you can't go wrong with half priced appetizers. Huge portions too. I ordered the half price lettuce wraps which were delicious and even had left overs for lunch. Plus, the drinks were a generous pour with great prices also. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. Wish I were hungry enough to order the mussles which everyone around us ordered. They looked so good in the marinara sauce and bread dipping. Maybe next time... and there will be a next time. May 18, 2023, dinner for 3 - sadly we were last here as two couples many years ago... our dear friend Brian lost his battle to throat cancer a month ago. Our server Emma was fantastic, witty, and stupendously attentive. I was going to skip this review and just enjoy my dinner out on our 3,000 mile journey from Florida to NC to PA to my daughters college graduation. I have at least 5 pending reviews, but this one jumped the to fruition. Got a few cosmos for the girls, and I just a water with lemon. They declared fantastic and a very good value at under 8 bucks. 10/10 My Grilled vegetable sandwich with mushroom's, spinach, peppers on a focaccia roll was nicely cooked, not too oily/greasy/wet, and had nice product. If I had a quip a little bit TOO cheesy, but nothing horrible. 9/10 The girls both got the Aztec salad. With a wide assortment of veggies (corn, cheese, lettuce etc. and a spicy/Cajun shrimp and lemon chicken that BOTH enjoyed very much. 10/10 The place is almost surgical clean, crazy spacious and VERY easy to have a conversation and chat without somebody sitting in your lap or wait/bus staff banging into you. Silverware and glassware clean, clear and table linens serviceable and sanitary. I did not look at other reviews yet, but I am challenged to find any issues here. TJ Smiths is always a dependable choice for lunch or dinner. They have really great seafood appetizers, such as their clams, mussels and calamari. Their buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and fried chicken entree are amazing. They have solid burgers as well. The staff is always very polite and fast even when they are busy. I wish the main menu changed more often, but they do offer specials almost every day. read more

Stopped by TJ's for lunch today with a friend and we were met with a very friendly and helpful server named Kim. She was helpful in picking out Brunch items that we would like since it was our first time at TJ's for brunch. We ordered our drinks and food and the drinks arrived quickly. Our food came out (Philly Benedict and Breakfast Burrito) and it was delicious. My only suggestion is maybe to have a sauce (or more sauce for the Burrito). Havent had a bad experience yet. Both dine in and take out have been fantastic. Great for a quick pickup or to casually dine in during lunch or even for drinks and food at night. Service has been great and the menu options are plentiful so a lot of choice for everyone. Ambiance is a nice mix of sports bar and casual eatery. Just all around a comfortable place to be no matter what the occasion. With that said, I can't put my finger on what they're specifically known for. We have been going here quite often for a few years. Our last two times the food and bar service has been awful. A few weeks ago I ordered the fried shrimp. I could not even chew the shrimp it was fried to a piece of leather/burned. Tonight I ordered the wings again inedible fried til the wings were dry. My husband's chicken Marsala was great. Her movements equated to Mozart's fifth Symphony, every pore was exact, and she moved with the gratefulness of a swan, Jen, not skipping a beat for a moment. She was so fast. The only images I could get would be a blur yet she took our order made our drinks asked us how we liked our dinner and all this in the moment. The food was delicious. The owner came over to us, and I told him how graceful of a swan this bartender us was. We door dashed this place for $110 for our fairly simple meals. Witness mass produced fish sticks that were frozen and then fried. How about some acme brand tortellini boiled and dumped in the container? Wait, I know - you're gonna love this transparent cole slaw that smells like vinegar and not much else. The food was delicious. The server was very attentive . My only complaint is I wish you had a handicap entrance . The handicap parking is quite far from the entrance . Makes it difficult for older folks and folks using a walker or a cane the cobblestones are difficult if you are using those tools . People with breathing problems also can't always walk that far . A nice, diverse menu in a clean, spacious location. I've been here a few times and always enjoyed the ample selection of appetizers and entrees. If I had one criticism, it would be that their dessert menu is very limited and not very interesting. My advice to management is to revamp and add to your dessert menu. Years ago they had a much better - and broader - dessert menu that included a lemon cake that, frankly, was just shy of heavenly. Now it is about six items, uninspired and not worth exploring. My family and I visited on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. It was fairly busy, but we were seated quickly and our waitress was so friendly and helpful. Our meals came to the table fast. We experienced wonderful service, but had a few issues with the food. We ordered 3 wraps (Baja and two Monterey), the Reuben and a burger. The Reuben and burger looked wonderful and tasted great. However, the Monterey wrap left much to be desired. It was pretty much flavorless and included salad topping bacon bits and barely any fresh ingredients. It was a big let down! read more

Wow what an amazing place. My boyfriend and I decided to go somewhere a little out of our "bubble" So here we land at TJ smiths. We walk in, and from the look of the parking lot, it was poppin'. We walk in and there was a 20 minute wait which we had no issue with so we sit on the patio, and when two bar seats opened up the hostess (with the most-est)came and found us (herself, which she didn't have to do knowing she had my phone number for the waiting list) letting us know we could sit here sooner rather then waiting longer for a table. Long story short our bartenders (Brittany, and Lewis) were absolutely amazing, the food was delicious and the drinks were tasty. I even got two desserts. And the Spotify 90s playlist is STRAIGHT FIRE. read more

If you have children and plan on bringing them into this establishment- I recommend finding another place.( They are NOT kid friendly!) They told our big party (28 guests) that our children were unruly and obnoxious. They're toddlers and weren't acting out. The bill was a decent amount and they called the cops on our table for our "acting out" children instead of coming to talk to us like adults. Super unprofessional, and to have the entire staff come out to belittle us is ASTONISHING especially in front of our toddlers and teenage children!! The worst experience and to top it off a very unfriendly management team that I have ever dealt with dining out. The situation could've been handled entirely different and the name calling didn't have to happen on either parts. This place needs to DO BETTER! Happy holidays! Went on a Saturday night with reservations. Seated fine in a booth. The waitress said when she arrived to greet us "I'm so sorry, I'm really slammed, I'll be right with you." She said this many times during the evening. And the place was slammed, and mostly the clientele were blue-collar looking families drinking a lot. Very noisy, TVs on. Not a pub, more like a restaurant you'd find at a beach vacation spot. Service was slow but friendly. Menu was okay, very varied from pastas (not homemade (?) and bland) and salads, to littlenecks (delicious) to wraps and burgers. The desserts were bland. The bbq chicken wraps were so dry and chewy they were inedible, but nicely removed from our bill. Prices were high for what was served, here by the highway in Warrington, PA. We would go back; the food was a "good okay" and the experience, we are guessing, will be better on a less-busy night of the week. read more

TJ Smith's on Easton Road near the border between Doylestown and Warrington gives the feel of a western mountain lodge - all exposed wood and stone, high vaulted ceilings and beams. The bar room where we ate was spacious on a weekday afternoon, and the service was friendly and informative. We opted for their 4 beer sampler to go with their self-proclaimed famous burgers and a cheesesteak. At $8.50 for the 3 oz. glasses, the price was about right, and the offerings of national brew was tasty and interesting, although 2 of them had a pumpkin component in honor of the season. They were fine. The burgers were large (8 oz.) with the appropriate fixings, although both of them came out beyond the medium finish requested, which, with an empty house was hard to understand other than inattentiveness at the grill. Their tastes were good, and the beef had not been frozen. The cheesesteak was average and clearly not their forte. Plenty of HDTVs everywhere for those who want sports stimulation while eating or drinking (this is a sports bar), but not so overwhelming as to be a distraction to conversation. Attractive house. With more attention to detail, it could be an exceptional stop in an otherwise nondescript strip of Bucks County. read more

All the charm and class of a TGI Friday's with none of the professionalism. I live in D.C., and a friend who lives in Boston and I ended up at this place because we're staying at a nearby hotel for a wedding. A bunch of people from the wedding decided to go here for easy drinks and bites the night before the big day - like 20 of us. Admittedly, the restaurant had no notice that we were coming so it would have been unreasonable to expect them to just magically have a massive table or private room available, but they seemed to have no desire whatsoever to accommodate us in the slightest, despite the fact that hey, we just brought them a ton of business and were looking to spend serious money on drinks. No attempt to make space for us somewhere, not so much as someone going to take a look at the bar to see if they could pull some high tops together for us, nothing. They acted like we were an inconvenience. Fine. So, since they didn't have any free tables near each other in the main dining area, we decided to go to the bar, which was seat yourself. So a group of five of us crowded around a high top that was meant for 3 or 4, settled in and started to think about ordering, only for the host to come over with another party in tow and say as curtly as possible, "Actually, this is part of our seating." As in, this isn't seat yourself, it's only seat yourself at the bar. Nice. Thanks for making that clear before we put our bags down and got settled, bro. After he booted us off our table without so much as a "sorry about that," we wandered over to the bar and started taking stools as they became available. Some of the patrons were very sweet, offering to move over so we could sit next to each other. A few people from our group put names on the list for the dining room but we were hungry so my Boston friend and I decided to order some drinks and an app to tide ourselves over before being seated. She ordered a cocktail off the menu from the very unenthused-seeming bartendress. This cocktail, which was large and apparently tasty and strong and only $7 (!!! It would be at least $12 if not $14 in D.C. or Boston and half the size) is the only reason I have for even giving this joint a second star. I don't eat meat except for fish, and I found the vegetarian options on their menu less than appealing, with no veggie burger, no vegetarian pastas that seemed like they would be remotely satisfying without a meat addition, and my only other options were things like the ever ubiquitous token hummus and some kind of vegetable sandwich that is basically the (barely even) suburban answer to the vegetable-forward small plate cornucopia that is urban dining, replete with fourteen different kinds of roasted cauliflower, braised brussels sprouts and every known variation on kale ever to have been developed in the history of humanity. I was displeased. Meanwhile, the fish dishes had prices indicative of having been pre-frozen. Ultimately I asked for, and I state this verbatim, "A regular hot coffee and some onion rings." The bartendress didn't understand me. So I repeated, "A coffee and some onion rings." She brings my coffee after a few minutes, sets it down too hard, spills tons of it into the saucer, says nothing. Nice. I try it after dumping in the requisite amount of sugar and cream (out of one of those IHOP style peel-lid containers, not an actual cream dish). It was weak and stale. Meanwhile, we close our tab while still waiting for the onion rings, figuring it would keep things simple for when we switched to a table later. The bill comes and I see that it says "loaded onion rings" for $8.99. My friend mentions that the menu said loaded onion rings come with bacon. So I say to the bartendress that I don't eat meat and I didn't realize they were loaded. She goes, "I can change it but it's still the same price." OK, we say. The loaded onion rings, I saw after looking at the menu, come with bacon, some kind of "Cholula ranch" whatever that is, and a few different kinds of cheese. When she arrives with my "same price" onion rings, it's a plate of like six super fried standard rings with nothing on them. I said I don't eat meat. Not that I don't eat cheese or ranch. At this point I was completely fed up with this little experiment in mediocrity. Meanwhile, the tables that my party had asked for became available but were on the opposite side of the restaurant from where many of our compatriots were having drinks at the bar and, since several of the self-seating bar stools had opened up in the meantime, they decided to just stay put and eat there. Not wanting to subject myself to the whims of this service staff or this shining example of the standard, GOP-voting Merikan fare that is no doubt the source of this nation's longstanding romance with heart disease any longer, my friend and I left for the one restaurant in the area to have obtained more than a 3.5 star rating on Yelp. read more
