Bar - taken from restaurant tables next to open windows next to the outdoor smoking area.
Kevin C.

Wish I could have given this place a better rating, especially since the service was so friendly, but just couldn't for the reasons to follow: Very smoky bar - figured it was an old building and maybe they just couldn't get the smoke out of all those years when there used to be smoking, but then I saw they had a "smoking area" in the front of the restaurant (outside), but they also had the windows open, meaning the cigarette smoke was coming inside the bar and restaurant. I ordered a $40 prime rib and my nostrils had to deal with cigarette smoke with every bite. The "queen cut" prime rib was actually $38.95, which was considerably more than you'd pay at the Longhorn Steakhouse, for example, and the cut I received was mediocre at best. I've had worse, but I have certainly had a lot better, and many of those were not in the $40 universe. The cut was fatty, about every other bite had some gristle to contend with - the flavor was OK, but you expect more than that for that price. The mashed potatoes were good, however the gravy (in my opinion) was horrible - maybe it's just my taste, but it tasted like store-bought gravy someone warmed up. Broccoli was tasty. I was trying out this place as I was told it had prime rib and there had been some good reviews - and I wanted a place to take my wife and family. There were some patrons drinking at the bar, with a healthy amount of f-words and s-words being bantered about, so I wouldn't consider this place too "family friendly". So in short - friendly service, food that was "just OK" (so paying $38.95 for "just OK" sort of hurt), and you couldn't escape the cigarette smoke. Suggestion to owner - maybe move your smoking area somewhere else and not next to open windows to the restaurant. I doubt their doorway won't be seeing me again, glad I found out on my own before being embarrassed in front of family.

Complimentary pickles and pepper

I have not been to Richie's in years. Yesterday I made a game day decision to not go to the Red Lion Diner and go to Richie's instead. They are famous for Prime Rib. I started with a really good Steak and Mushroom Soup which was clearly homemade. They bring nice warm rolls and complimentary Pickles and Peppers. I ordered the smallest Prime Rib which is roughly 12 Oz. (End Cut - Medium). My sides were a foil wrapped baked Potato and (frozen) mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, lima's, green beans). Overall, the food is good, worth the price and the place is friendly. I did not have alcohol but the draught beer selection is ample. The iced tea was fresh brewed.

Nice little bar. Big menu. I had the prime rib cheesesteak. Was very good. I want to come back and try the actual prime rib.

The…read moreatmosphere was lively--definitely on the louder side, but it was a Saturday night of a holiday weekend, so that was expected. Our waitress was super friendly, and when we asked if she could put the Flyers game on, she took care of it right away. I decided to try the Smashburger Nachos since I'd seen them all over their social media and they looked amazing. The portion size is absolutely gigantic--seriously, plan to share with four or five people because it comes out on what's basically a pizza tray. Unfortunately, I wasn't all that impressed with the flavor. The burger meat tasted more like taco meat, which threw me off because I was expecting more of a Big Mac vibe. It also had a bit of spice to it, which I wasn't expecting (and I'm not big on spicy foods), so that didn't help the experience. To make up for it, I ordered the fried pickles, but those also missed the mark for me. They're served as spears instead of chips, so when you take a bite, the whole pickle slides right out of the breading. They also stay extremely hot no matter how long you let them cool. Just not my preferred style. On the bright side, my husband ordered what I believe was a Power Bowl with grilled chicken, cranberries, Brussels sprouts, goat cheese, and maple vinaigrette. It looked delicious--very much a keto-friendly dish--and he really enjoyed it. I'd honestly love to try recreating it at home. Overall, I didn't have the best luck with my dishes, but the service was great, and my husband's meal was excellent. I think Magerks does some things really well, and there's definitely room for improvement in others. Giving them a solid 4 out of 5. I'd come back and try something different next time!

We came specifically for the wings, and if you're a wing lover, this is absolutely the place. The Wing of the Month, Sriracha Maple, was a great starting point. It's exactly what they describe: the perfect blend of heat and sweetness. It reminded me of their classic Hot n Honey, but with an extra kick and more sweetness. An excellent seasonal flavor! For my second order of ten wings I had to get five Hot n Honey, as I t remains the gold standard. Sweet, spicy, and consistently excellent. There's a reason it's a fan favorite. The other five of that order was the Flamin' Pickleback, which was bold, tangy, and spicy in the best way possible. If you love pickles and heat, don't skip this one. My third order of ten were five Sweet Chili and five Korean BBQ. Both were well-balanced and flavorful. Great choices! Between wing rounds, I ordered the sweet potato fries with horseradish sauce, and this combo deserves more love. The sweetness of the fries paired with the sharp, creamy horseradish is a great contrast and a sleeper hit. Highly recommend this order! My boys (ages 14 and 20) always get their burgers and they love the burgers at P.J. Whelihan's and always devour them. To finish the night, (since it was my birthday) I went with the Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet Sundae: warm cookie, cold ice cream, and pure comfort. A perfect way to end a birthday wing night. The service was solid. Our waitress was very pleasant, however she disappeared at times and we waited for drink refills and reorders longer than I felt we should have had to wait given that it didn't seem that busy at the time. We saw other servers pass us a number of times before our server revisited our table. This isn't the norm though. Their service is usually spot on. Overall, PJ Whelihan's in Horsham is a top-tier spot for wings, especially on Wing Night. Huge variety, consistently great flavors, and a fun, casual atmosphere. Highly recommended if wings are your things like me! And if you love burgers, salads (which we've had in the past too) and friendly service.

We went for the happy hour app and drink specials for our birthdays, but because it took our server 15 minutes to come back and check on us, they wouldn't let us get the specials. We will definitely give it a weekend try, just in case it was an off night. Tip: I was not a fan of sitting in the half booth tables right by the hostess stand. It was extra dark and it felt more like where you sit while waiting for your actual table. Ask to be seated further in the dining room...it is really cool inside! Big parties can even get seated IN a birdcage!
