Came here yesterday (Saturday) to celebrate a family birthday with dinner. The five of us had never been here before but some of them heard one of their steaks was very good. We parked in the lot in the back, walked around front and entered in the front door. You have to walk through the bar in the front to get to the dining room in the back (there is a side door too, although I'm not sure if that's open all the time). We had made a reservations and were given to large booth which was great. It felt like a corner bar to me (corner bars are a favorite of mine!). Nothing fancy but expect cold beers, good food and great service! Karaoke had just stared in the bar area when we sat down so you could clearly hear every word being sung but it didn't bother us-we we're still able to hold a conversation at our table. Our waitress was wonderful (I don't remember her name...might have been Cara)! She took very good care of us during our visit. The food was good! I had the tuna steak special. The other three adults got the princess cut steak (I forget the cut of steak but it's the one they are known for). Everyone loved it! It was a fun and successful birthday dinner! read more

Their appetizers were GREAT. The entree was so so. On Saturday they have karaoke which is fun sometimes, but they one client who hogs the microphone and is terrible, although he acts like he is Sinatra. Because of him we stay away from the restaurant on Saturdays. The good news it is a haunt for a bunch of retired Marines (not fakers but the real deal). Don't misunderstand it is a watering hole for many combat veteran Marine who share the comradeship without all macho nonsense one sees in the movies not in real life. read more

Wish I could have given this place a better rating, especially since the service was so friendly, but just couldn't for the reasons to follow: Very smoky bar - figured it was an old building and maybe they just couldn't get the smoke out of all those years when there used to be smoking, but then I saw they had a "smoking area" in the front of the restaurant (outside), but they also had the windows open, meaning the cigarette smoke was coming inside the bar and restaurant. I ordered a $40 prime rib and my nostrils had to deal with cigarette smoke with every bite. The "queen cut" prime rib was actually $38.95, which was considerably more than you'd pay at the Longhorn Steakhouse, for example, and the cut I received was mediocre at best. I've had worse, but I have certainly had a lot better, and many of those were not in the $40 universe. The cut was fatty, about every other bite had some gristle to contend with - the flavor was OK, but you expect more than that for that price. The mashed potatoes were good, however the gravy (in my opinion) was horrible - maybe it's just my taste, but it tasted like store-bought gravy someone warmed up. Broccoli was tasty. I was trying out this place as I was told it had prime rib and there had been some good reviews - and I wanted a place to take my wife and family. There were some patrons drinking at the bar, with a healthy amount of f-words and s-words being bantered about, so I wouldn't consider this place too "family friendly". So in short - friendly service, food that was "just OK" (so paying $38.95 for "just OK" sort of hurt), and you couldn't escape the cigarette smoke. Suggestion to owner - maybe move your smoking area somewhere else and not next to open windows to the restaurant. I doubt their doorway won't be seeing me again, glad I found out on my own before being embarrassed in front of family. read more

the food is great, the owner, richie is fantastic along either his crew. kim is a very kind bartender who likes to listen and very sociably and makes you feel appreciated and honest. she is an asset to richies bar. not to mention the other crew members, maria, lisa, dave, chris, nicky, billy jo, the cook, not to mention the others i left out. the regulars that come in are a fantastic group who comes in after working a days work and like to relax and have cold glass of their beverage and listen to the music. another great thing about richies is its a smoke free environment. great job guys! michael leone read more

I have not been to Richie's in years. Yesterday I made a game day decision to not go to the Red Lion Diner and go to Richie's instead. They are famous for Prime Rib. I started with a really good Steak and Mushroom Soup which was clearly homemade. They bring nice warm rolls and complimentary Pickles and Peppers. I ordered the smallest Prime Rib which is roughly 12 Oz. (End Cut - Medium). My sides were a foil wrapped baked Potato and (frozen) mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, lima's, green beans). Overall, the food is good, worth the price and the place is friendly. I did not have alcohol but the draught beer selection is ample. The iced tea was fresh brewed. read more

Went here on Monday night with my son for dinner and the service was horrible.... He got steak and said no onions or mushrooms it came out with it and then he wanted dry mashed potatoes they came out with gravy . My baked potato was brought out with sour cream when I asked for butter the server rolled her eyes!!! read more

So I cant believe I am doing this, but just moved back to the area to be closer to my family. Was suggested to have lunch at this restaurant as it was in the neighborhood. After getting the barmaid away from the machines at the entrance, I ordered something simple, a salad and my girlfriend a french dip. what leads me to this reiew follows: After getting the food, which was ok, the big man sitting by the register began picking his nose, belching and lifting up his shirt to which I lost all appetite. Definitely a dive bar so set your expectations for that. DEFINITELY a super legit prime rib. I got the queen cut and it was gigantic, amazing flavor and even had the bone in!!!! Will deff be back. WONDERFUL except for the music! The menu was grand! Food better than average! Really tasty and fresh. Extremely good service. Our martinis were made cold and perfectly dry as we ordered. Only suggestion, is that they play WILLIE's Roadhouse, and give their diners some real country music. If they want to spice it up then try the Outlaw station, or a few others that I've you good feelings while in such a nice bar and restaurant. The station that played all three times was more like pop music, as Dale Watson, the founder of the Ameripolitian Music Awards says, "Country my ass". It sure would be nice to hear some down home traditional country music when enjoying wonderful genuine down home fresh New Jersey style seafood, or at least a mix. Richie's is a smoky dive bar that also happens to have really good food. Thankfully the dining room is kept separate from the smoke so that's not an issue when you're eating. Boyfriend and I have been there a few times and are always happy with what we get. I think my favorite thing in the menu is the clams casino. Who would expect an Irish bar in Horsham to have the best clams casino ever, but they do! Must try. I usually get chicken parm and I've always been happy. My man usually orders the gigantic slab of prime rib which scares me, but he thoroughly enjoys. I've never seen a bigger hunk of meat in my life, so if you're a carnivore you should check it out! Dare I say, I think richie's has the best food in Horsham! Plus, the bar is lively with cigarette smoking locals, and the service is friendly. Works for us! read more

I came here a few weeks ago after being drawn in by the large "where prime rib is king" sign outside. The bar itself is small, dark and smoky, but jam-packed with off-kilter regulars who pleasantly drink and joke at the bar. They had jeopardy on the TV and an arcade game in the corner. The atmosphere is simultaneously dingy yet welcoming. There is a back room behind the bar with additional dining room space, but we ate in the front room. My friend and I sat ourselves at a booth and waited for our busy waitress to greet us. We ordered a round of waters, and the server brought out bread to start (win). Throughout the night we were very pleased with the service. The woman who took care of us seemed to be working the whole floor on her own, and did so masterfully. We were not hungry enough to order seperate entrees, but there is a $5 sharing fee on the prime rib so I forewent my original mission. Instead, we split the crab-stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer with the filet (MR) as an entree. The filet also came with a side salad, as well as brocolli and mashed potatoes. The stuffed crab meat in the mushrooms was a little hard in some bites, but were otherwise great. Everything else was delicious and our filet was cooked to perfection. By the end of the meal, we were too stuffed to even ask about dessert. Our waitress either forgot or chose not to charge us for the appetizer, so our meal came out to somewhere around $22 for the whole dinner. We left her a $10 tip, but even then we both had a wonderful steak dinner for $16 each, which is just unheard of! Needless to say, we were extremely happy with our decision to dine here. read more

My husband and I went here on the birthday of the Marine Corp, and it was full of marines and veterans! I felt like I should stand up and make an announcement thanking everyone for their service. This bar not only has great beers and drinks, but their food is delicious. We had their wings, a side salad, mashed potatoes, cucumber salad, a prime rib dip sandwich, and a 16 oz prime rib that my husband ate in its entirety! All of it was great, especially the prime rib!! Local bar with nice beer selection . Smoking allowed in bar so this is a big minus in my opinion. There are about 10 tables in a back dining room where you can eat smoke-free. The room is a bit dark but the food makes up for the ambience. At the daily special of pork and sauerkraut and it was fabulous. Would definitely come back and try to prime rib but for the most part this is a local bar with comfy food. read more

Freakin incredible. The King cut must have been 30 ounces. We drove by the place earlier in the day and thought, yep, prime rib sounds great. I've never seen so much meat on a plate. Just phenomenal. Great non-pretentious atmosphere- our waitress was super friendly, dealt great service, and got us all meat drunk. I'm not much for writing reviews, but this place deserved it. You might call it 'hole-in-the-wall'ish, which for me is a good sign. If you're looking for a prime rib place just quit looking, get in your car and get your famished arse to Richies- you'll see what i mean. read more

Review is based off of 1 visit in all fairness. 2 stars and that is being generous! Partner and I are big prime rib fans, was reading the rave reviews here on Yelp so thought I'd give it a shot! Its very hard to find a consistently good prime rib anywhere but a high end steak house and sadly this place is no exception. Started out with the snapper soup which was average, edible, not thick like you would get at the Kopper Kettle but ok. Then waited about a half an hour for my Queen cut prime rib. When they brought it out it looked amazing, juicy and tender until I started cutting in to it. About 50-60 percent fat! I get it, prime rib its a fatty meat but when I am spending 28 bucks, I expect at least 75 percent meat, at least. The meat that was on it was delicious I have to say but not worth the price. Also, did not get a refill on my ice tea or was offered one by the waitress. And that was not the major issue! The real problem was my partners ordered an end cut well done. He had to send it back 3 times! No lie! They couldn't cook it right and each piece was 50 percent fat for an end cut that is unacceptable! Eventually they gave up and gave him a filet instead, and that was under-cooked, he was not happy! Server was nice and tried but got a little bit of a tude with all the send backs. Sorry! So with all the issues they didn't offer an apology, comp or free desert a coupon or nothing! I don't really want to kill this place as all in all it was just OK, just that I had very high expectations going in and was sadly disappointing. read more
