Went in there with my girlfriend for a price fix meal ... Nice enough looking place but once we ordered our meal things went downhill. One of the items on the price fix menu was a salad. Only one entry for the salad. This salad had shrimp which I personally don't eat, so I asked that they give my shrimp to my girlfriend on her salad. When the salad came out, no shrimp. When I asked why she was not given my shrimp, the owner came to me and said that I ordered the vegetarian salad, not an option on the menu by the way. So I said well now I'd want my shrimp can you bring it to me and he said that's not what I ordered. So for the price of three shrimp, I already knew I would never go back there. $110 per person I think they can afford three shrimp. Food was okay, not stellar but we did leave hungry and for that price in Doylestown that shouldn't happen. Had one shot which was pretty expensive, would have drank more but after the shrimp incident we decided not to spend another dollar. I won't be returning. They don't seem to understand customer service at this restaurant. If you do decide to go in the future, make sure you're careful about any live entertainment. We were under the impression that we would be able to stay for the show that was happening at 6:30 but since we had an early reservation we were told we could not stay. When we made the reservation there was an option to check that we wanted to attend this and we were able to make that check on the software. For that price, we expected a complete, satisfying meal, not something that felt unfinished. Have been there several times and a nice experience. We made reservations for a Tuesday night and unfortunately had part of our party bail due to an unforeseen family issue. I called to let them know we would need to reduce from 6 to a party of 2 and was told that we would be charged $25 per person or $100 for canceling. I totally get some extra fee but given the fact that my wife and I were still planning to dine there that evening, that seems quite steep (it's Tuesday!). When I mentioned that fact, and that we were returning customers the manager I spoke with was way more interested in explaining why I was wrong than losing an existing customer. It's very expensive (My espresso martini was $21, appetizer plate was $23 and olive oil cake was $14). They have valet parking. The have a doorman/bouncer and they are not "sweet" people... I would recommend going anywhere else in Doylestown. From the moment we walked in, the person who sat us was incredibly rude and made us feel unwelcome. The restaurant was practically empty when we arrived, but instead of hospitality, we got attitude. There is a sign out front that advertises happy hour but you aren't told it's only at two specific hightop tables in the restaurant or the bar which could not accommodate our party. Ok fine whatever that should have been told to us but we ordered (overpriced) drinks anyway. What really sealed the deal was watching the owner point at our table and count what we ordered, as if we weren't spending enough. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and downright insulting. We had planned to stay longer and order more, including food and drinks, but the unwelcoming atmosphere made us decide to quickly finish up, pay, and leave. Our server was lovely (and we made sure to tip her well because it wasn't her fault), but the overall experience was ruined by the owner's behavior. A welcomed change to Doylestown! I feel the town needs a few more upscale places. Has live music. Good drinks. I think it's funny that some of the bad reviews suggest it's pretentious. This is pretty on par for a place in the city (drinks, ambience, and dress code). To assume it's a -T shirts and $3 beers- kinda place, and then rate it low bc it's not. Ridiculous expectations. This type of establishment was sorely needed in Doylestown, and I'm happy it's here. While there are other cocktail bars in the area, what they lack is 1. They don't offer food, or a large variety of food. 2. It's not offered past 9:30-10pm. 3. They cater more to the younger crowd who's looking to party more so than just hang out with a nice cocktail and relaxing live music. This place offers tapas like plates, the kitchen is open late, and it's much more "toned down", than some of the other places in D-town nearby. The variety of the tapas is broad, with many vegetarian options. The cocktail and wine list is extensive. My one constructive criticism is: while the tapas theme is great, expect to order a considerable number of dishes if you think this will be a dinner type of meal. And if you're in a big group, ie greater than 2, it adds up. Also, and most importantly, they have a really nice wine list with some expensive wines--however the tapas dishes don't match the level of wines. If I'm looking to order a nice (expensive) bottle of wine, I would want a couple of substantial dishes on the menu to pair that with, ie a rich pasta, or perhaps some more meatier options, larger plates, etc. The service thus far has been great, and the drinks are creative and made well. Right now, this will be either our pre/post dinner place, and hopefully as the food menu evolves, also a dinner spot. My favorite part of the food, is the bread basket. My mother has been looking forward to going to Frost since they opened, but unfortunately we had a seriously disappointing experience. First, the service was awful. Our waitress took at least 20 minutes to come over and when she did, she did not introduce herself, didn't share the specials with us, and didn't lead with the items on the menu they were out of -- instead, she let me to go down the list of drinks just to say, "We're out of that... yep, that too... and that one." They were "out" of a third of the drink menu. Also, for a martini bar, there were no martinis on the menu... not one. When she brought the drinks, she pretty much slammed them on the table and walked away before we could even say thank you. There were a couple tables she checked on 2-3 times before coming back to even get our food order. The food was absolutely mediocre. My mother ordered the bao buns which had short rib, one pickle, and three shreds of cabbage. I ordered very dry vegetarian meatballs. And we shared the Doylestown Bar Pie, which tasted like a Wegman's brand frozen pizza. The strawberry shortcake was OK. Also, the ambience left a lot to be desired. I don't usually mind loud music personally, but they describe themselves as a speakeasy, so my mother was expecting a more mellow vibe. Instead, it felt like we were in a dark underground club in Philly. It even seemed too loud for the waitress to hear us because she got our orders wrong a couple times, as well. The last issue came with the bill. I got my mother a gift card and the waitress immediately told us she didn't know how to process it. I just looked at her, like... OK, maybe ask the owner who's just been standing around all night? He came back over with her and tried to act like I had a fake gift card, telling us the balance was $0. I showed him the receipt which showed I'd bought the gift card that day so there's no way it would be spent and at a balance of $0 and he acted like I was lying. Very disrespectful and I was honestly pretty offended. Why sell gift cards if you and your staff don't know how to use them and then accuse your patrons of fraud? Yesterday 5 of us drove from Princeton to the Frost Lounge in Doylestown, Pa to have a dinner and wine tasting there. We heard good reports about the place before, but our total experience by far exceed our expectations. Just about everything was excellent, the food and the service, as well as the beautiful interior of the restaurant. On our way home we all wished to have a place like the Frost in Princeton, perhaps someone will get the idea to do that. Took my daughter here for her 30th birthday and it was a wonderful dining experience. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere and decor was modern but cozy. My husband and I went for the first time last evening. From the second I walked in, I was turned off. The person who seated us, who was the 'manager', was cold and abrupt. Not welcoming at all. We ordered our drinks - no problem there. Drinks were good. Our meals were a different story. My husband was served scallop dish - which had TWO scallops, some octopus and shrimp. Looked more like an appetizer than a meal. About 15 minutes later, my filet came out. I had asked for medium plus. It was WELL done. IT had been pounded and didn't even look like a filet. I took a couple bites. Absolutely no flavor, way too overcooked. The waitress said she could have another made. I had already waited quite a while after my husband was already served, I didn't want to wait for another. She said she'd speak to the manager (the man who seated us) and came back with the bill. No explanation and nothing was removed. I asked to speak to him. Rude and annoyed doesn't begin to explain his demeanor! Frost is basically what you'd get if you asked Jean Ralphio Saperstein and Tom Haverford to design and run their dream establishment. It looks straight out of one of those old Grand Theft Auto games. An exaggerated caricature of a cocktail bar with a Fiverr-grade logo and hyperactive social media presence that fails to deliver. It lives up to the name, and not in a good way. Cold and uninviting, Frost is all (strange) style and no substance and would do well to consult with an interior decorator with restaurant design experience instead of laser tag arena or dystopian sci-fi design experience. It doesn't fit in or even moderately respect the overall vibe of the town it resides in. This combined with a draconian obsession with appearances enforced via their dress code ultimately define Frost: a place that comes off as if it's trying too hard to be something it's not that aims to court clientele with the same affliction. It might be worth the effort if you were rewarded with the company of nice people and delicious food and drinks. Instead, if you make it to the point where you're seated at the bar and someone pays attention to you, one sip will be all it takes to have you instantly wondering why you didn't choose to give your money to one of the dozens of better local bars and restaurants just a short walk away. There's no need to settle for Frost. They're selling "exclusivity" to people who fall for that sort of gimmick, but this is an exclusive club you probably won't even want to be in for more than a few minutes. Authenticity matters. When people open restaurants because they love food, it shows. When people open restaurants because they want to diversify their portfolio, it shows. The staff seem micromanaged and the manager/owner seemed annoyed by the very customers he expected to pay the cartoonishly high bill. Like paying $10 for still water? You'll love it here. Otherwise? Hard, hard, hard pass on this inauthentic experiment. It markets itself as sophisticated and upscale, but no amount of marketing can save it from itself. Head around the corner to MOMs, Hops/Scotch, Domani Star, Pag's Pub, 86 West, or Penn Taproom, and enjoy a much better evening with much less blue LED eye strain for much less money with a much lower likelihood of the guys from A Night at the Roxbury hitting on you or your significant other. The biggest shame is it's in a great location. The sooner it either dramatically transforms itself or closes and makes way for a better establishment, the better off Doylestown's restaurant scene will be. read more

The Worst experience I have ever had when trying to enter a bar. Our greeting from the security guard at the door was excessively negative right from the start. I got the impression that we needed to flash a roll of hundred dollar bills to be admitted. He was not competent enough to make a decision to allow us to enter, so he had to call for backup. The Creepy owner arrived and stuck his head through the black curtain. We were denied admission when we said we wanted to check out the band. Live band entertainment was a plus too. Main reason bringing down this review is the cocktail prices are very overpriced! All cocktails except one are over $20 (lowest is $18 and most are around $22/$23). After 2 rounds of drinks we were already at a $100 bill! I went here this past weekend with a large group of friends. While inside was very posh. It was not busy and our large group sat squished at high tops and stools. While the drinks were delicious and unique... they were VERY expensive!! I ordered the Pulled Pork Sliders. It came with 2 very small sliders for over $20! I ate one and it was very basic with not much flavor but I was hungry. I took a bite of my second and got a huge piece of gristle. I discreetly pulled it out & then took another bite and got even a larger piece of gristle. I called over the server and told her my second slider was full of gristle & was inedible & so she took it away. I also told her I totally understand if they wanted to charge me for half my meal as I did eat the first slider. She said she would talk to the manager and get it taken off my bill & would I want anything else. Because I was still hungry, I did order Baked Brie for another crazy high price as it was very bland and not a lot of flavor. When we received the bill, I was not offered anything nor was I told that they were still charging me for everything. I read many reviews and sounds like to sum it up...the owners are impolite and overbearing, the food is underwhelming and overpriced, they bring an NYC attitude to PA which will not fly, they won't make exceptions for a pregnant woman in need to use the bathroom, it's crowded and the owners don't own up to any of their mistakes.
