I've been to this place multiple times, last night I come in with my friends and their "bouncer" who wasn't even at the door when we came in scanned our ID's and checked them with the flashlight and still didn't think that we were 21. what's the point of the ID scanner?? he then made us fill out these cards with all of our information because he said he didn't want to get in trouble and so the bar wouldn't be liable if we weren't 21. never had this experience anywhere before and their staff was unprofessional and rude about the whole situation, the bartender ignored us the entire time. if you aren't 60 years old and aren't a regular you get looked at sideways. maybe stop serving minors and you wouldn't have these problems. it was embarrassing watching the downfall of this place, never again. read more

My go-to's at General which I highly vouch for are either the loaded fries, the honey chipotle chicken strips or the loaded chicken nachos. I came to the General Davis the first time about 15 years ago where they served free hot wings as they wanted to bring in business to the bar. I came every dam week of football week 1 through 16 so I have some memories of this spot....that being said I went back 16 years later last weekend and here was my experience. Steak Egg Rolls - Crispy Wonton, Rib Eye, Spicy Ketchup. The sauce that came with had a good amount of tang to it. $8.99 was a fair price however I was straving when I came here and could only finish two of the rolls. They were out of alot of the food options as this was there first weekend back I am guessing opening back up during the COVID-19 pandemic. Scalloped Potato - Not bad, I could taste some mayonaise in it however...do people usually cook these with mayonaise? I mean this place is bar food so I am not judging just tasted a bit different from the typical scalloped potato's I am used to. French Fries - My date ordered the Fries and they looked quite good. Ordered a side of cheese for them at only fifty cents extra which is extremely fair. I did not taste them however. To be honest since moving to Philadelphia there is just a plethora of food options be it at a much higher price point but I do not see myself coming back to The General in the near future. read more

General Deck, Bar & Grill on Street Road, Southampton, PA, is a deceptively attractive sports bar with decent kitchen and large outdoor rear deck for nicer weather. The barroom in front contains a rectangular bar, recently refurbished along with the rest of the house, with TVs everywhere you look. Behind the bar are two smallish dining rooms, redone to look rustic with stone and rough hewn wood. The deck comes last, and is approachable directly from the parking lot. I stopped in to catch the 76ers game against the Lakers, and was lucky enough to watch the locals demolish the LeBrons by 23 points! The menu was sitting on the bar, and I heard their California Burger calling my name. Got it finished medium, with a side order of Brussel Sprouts fit onto the large plate right next door. Service was friendly, and young enough to need to show their IDs. The burger was very good - done as requested, with fresh avo, lettuce, sliced sweet red onion, tomato and ranch dressing, on an above average bun that held together to the very end despite significant drippage from the puck and its playmates. The Brussels were excellently soft and savory with bacon, feta and a tart balsamic glaze overcoat. NOTE: The only recognizable defect in the entire show was the steep staircase to the second floor restrooms, which were inaccessible to anyone with a disability. I know that rehabilitated old buildings present challenges to compliance with ADA requirements, but given the amount of work done on the structure, and the addition of the large deck, a unisex handicap outfitted restroom should have been designed into the first floor, and a ramp installed for wheelchairs and walkers for entry into The General. read more

Came here yesterday after seeing an ad for a $7 burger special on Wednesdays. I won't be back in a hurry. I was disappointed in my experience with this place. We decided to get a few sodas, an order of chipotle honey wings, and two of the plain burgers for the Wednesday "special". We found out very quickly that the "special" was not really a special. The burger is really a burger without fries, which makes the price not much different than it would normally be. The burger that comes with fries every other day of the week is $12. This is just a burger without fries, which cost about $4 on the menu anyway. At least the doneness was correct on the burgers. They were decent, but horribly dry. They had no mayo or other sauce at all on them, so we used packets of ketchup to add some moisture. The chipotle honey wings were the best part of the meal, but they were extremely undersauced. You can see from the photo that they are just very poorly coated. However, they were very crispy and just perfectly cooked. If only they had actually used the right amount of sauce, they would've been amazing. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I am in no hurry to go back. Don't fall for the "specials," either. read more

My wife and I stopped by for a quick bite Sunday PM. Server was attentive but did not introduce herself. Took a while for our wings, fries and breaded dill pickle spears. Sorry to say that the wings were underwhelming, the pickle spears had too much breading however the french fries were good!! The deck was great but the interior leaves much to be desired. Same old carpeting on the upstairs stairs to the bathrooms....thought they would be downstairs by now with the renovations. read more

This wings deal is Monday only, so expect a football crowd. But, if your out with the boys and are broke, hungry, and wanna watch a game this is the place to watch it; Fair warning though - their TVs are not top-of-the-line. You can't really beat free all you can eat wings. Sure they may not be the best wings but for the price they were pretty dang good. They also run really cheap beer specials as well. If you can put up with the Monday night football this is definitely worth it. The place inside is not he biggest and with large crowds it can be difficult to navigate past the bar area but here is a lot of seating and all the seats have views of the one more of the flat screens. So this place is definitely good for groups of people wanting to watch the game and score some free grub. They have an outdoor deck and even have it open in the winter with large heaters out to keep you from freezing to death. read more

Stuck inside looking for a place on Uber eats to deliver anything that the Wife wanted to eat. Came across General and ordered the left side of the menu so to speak. Waited for 40 minutes and we received notification that the delivery was canceled. I called the restaurant and the woman on the line immediately asked if I was the person who ordered from Uber eats - of course I answer yes - and she stated they couldn't get someone to deliver via Uber. After a short conversation the woman offered to drive it herself after work which was literally 15 minutes from end of shift. A short time later she was knocking on our door with what was a delicious dinner. She went far and above what was expected but it was certainly appreciated. My Wife loved the Chicken Empanadas especially and I enjoyed the mild wings. Definitely ordering from here again and going for a visit when opened up for a night out! read more

I had a bad experience on a Thursday night a few weeks ago, hoping to catch some karaoke there. (Karaoke wasn't bad, but the singer's kinda tucked away) I ordered what was called The General Davis Burger, cooked medium, which was supposed to include "layers of provolone and pepperoni" which sounded awesome. I received my quite rare burger (parts of the center were colder than room temperature), with a few pieces of provolone on in. When I questioned the waitress about the missing pepperoni, she brought it to the cook who was standing just a few feet behind us. He said "It's in there." and she relayed the message to me as if she believed it. There surely were no layers of pepperoni... and when I thought "maybe it was ground in with the beef, I did my best to taste around for any bits of pepperoni but found none. It was just a bold-faced lie. So the burger wasn't garnished right, it wasn't cooked right, and the fries were obviously microwaved. My guest that night also got a burger and fries, both of which looked and tasted microwaved as well. Sorry, GDH. I hear you've got some good buffalo wings, but unless I'm feeling hard-up for some karaoke on Thursdays, I won't be coming back to try them. read more

Their outside patio is a great place to be on a good night. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is that they need to cut people off sooner. I definitely recommend checking this place out. I live next door so General Davis is a lifesaver when I don't feel like cooking but can walk over and grab a bite. I usually order and pick it up. The fries leave a bit to be desired but I love their mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers. The handful of times I've hung out there it seems like your typical bar...not really my thing which is why I don't go hang out more. I do get the joy of experiencing live band karaoke on Wednesday nights from my house, though. It sounds like people have tons of fun. read more

Went here on the recommendation of my wife's co-worker. I couldn't have been more disappointed. The food was jus average but the service was horrible. Our server was unable to answer any of our questions about the food and even after going to ask someone she returned with answers that were incomplete and insufficient. When asked what was their house red wine she didnt know and when she went to find out she told us "there's one that start with a c and a mer something. The deck is nice but the music was too loud (Friday at 5:00) and they have no way to block the sun which is blinding when it sets. I don't see us making a second trip. read more

Food is ok. Nothing to write home about. Summer time eating on the deck is a fun time. Some times they have a free buffet but i never tried it. I'm giving it 4 stars only as a place to have a drink at for food i'd only give it 3 stars. I mostly stop there for a beer after work or to watch a game on the deck tv's.
