April 25, 2023 - There have been a few changes at the Jamison Pour House since my previous review in 2015 (8 years!!!) on a personal level our close friend Brian has passed away 2 weeks ago from cancer. He was a regular here with hundreds of friends. We came by for nostalgic reasons after flying up from Florida. We used to live locally when this was Reece's Tavern in the 1992 to 2004 timeframe. New ownership, new paint, some windows I think, not too busy. we were seated quickly and knew a few folks as well. The girls both got The Hobo a crispy chicken sandwich and one with steak fries and the other with a side of grilled vegetables. Both thought they were good and enjoyable. a little bit too much breading and fried coating on the chicken but it was tasty. 8/10 I got the Grilled Veggies sandwich without the sharp cheese. This had a GREAT roll that was by itself a good product. The veggies were not too greasy and grilled and had some nice spice and taste. the side salad was varied vegetables and fresh with a simple but nice balsamic vinaigrette. 9/10 The drinks for all were decent size for the costs and well constructed. Service was fantastic and we enjoyed ourselves completely. Still a good spot after all these years. We toasted to our friend to thousands, father and husband. RIP Brian Galvin read more

We were hungry for an early lunch on Thanksgiving Eve, so we headed to the Jamison Pour House. It was busy when we arrived and people continued to 'Pour In'. Not to worry because Laura was single-handedly managing everything up front. She dug in and was able to quickly prioritize customer seating and taking orders. The food arrived quickly. I had the JPH Wings which were exactly as I had ordered: mild and extra crispy. An ample supply of celery sticks went well with the freshly made bleu cheese dressing. My wife's TBLT was also excellent. Too large to finish there, so she took a box home. We've been there several times and the staff have always provided us with great service, and the kitchen has never disappointed us. read more

We've been here 3 times in the past month and overall the food has been good. Excellent poutine, French dips and crab balls. My only complaint is with the Burrata Salad. If you're going to put pears on a salad, please have them be fresh, not canned. They're not necessary and canned really took away from the rest of the delicious dish. I have not been there in a long while and I have to say everything from the service to the food to the drinks were great. I got the turkey BLT, which was fabulous. Pleasantly surprised. We decided to give this lace a shot and was a little taken back by the building. The smell of the delicious food helped. We sat outside and had a wonderful waitress who gave our daughter and son a squishy toy which was unexpected. We ordered the hobo sandwich, shrimp tacos, and Childs Mac and a cheese. The food was FANTASTIC!! We will certainly be back very soon. read more

I eat here frequently and the food is always delicious but yesterday was on a whole other level. The short rib poutine fries were out of this world and the best thing I've ever had at this restaurant. But alas, they are only a special. Please add this to the regular menu and perhaps even go as far as to make it a dinner. Highly recommend this place and the cheesesteak is also delicious. read more

There were four in our party. We were greeted and seated promptly. Many beers on tap. We had roast beef sandwiches, hamburger, and a huge salad. Atmosphere was great. Nice looking tavern. While Jamison Pour House is a comfortable roadside stop for beer and light meals. I have the impression that it is fighting out of its weight class trying to be more than it is. I stopped in to catch the Sunday afternoon NFL games on the multiple HDTVs on the walls surrounding the square bar. Plenty of stools available and a friendly crowd. I selected Downeast Cider and their Jamison Patty Melt (medium), as the accompaniment to my entertainment. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. I liked the tart apple taste of the hard cider, but $6.50 for a pint seemed hazardous to my health. One was enough at that price. Too, the burger, though large and the right finish, was not the most flavorful I've ever had, and it crumbled as it cooled. Needed knife and fork due to the slickness of the Russian dressing, gruyere and natural greasiness of the puck. It was slip 'n slide all the way from plate to mouth. The heavier gauge friction of real rye would have helped over the lighter loaf used. It was still okay, but could have been a contender with more faithfulness to the concept. For $13, more was reasonably expected. These folks should consider a weekend happy hour slot to draw people in with lower prices, just like during the week. It wasn't crowded this Sunday mid afternoon, and a little marketing might do the trick. No one minds saving a few bucks, even on the weekend. read more

FISH AND CHIPS. Please, please, please stop here and try their fish and chips. I've had fish and chips all along the East and west coast and I was pleasantly surprised at the platter they served up here. Fish was thick, moist, flaky, and most importantly that batter banged so hard. It was so crispy and the battered stayed on the fish! Seriously, who would've known? A small little tavern in a small little town. How did THAT come out of that kitchen? Seriously, come and give it a try. Patrick, the bartender was super friendly. To end it, try the FISH AND CHIPS! Well- I was hungry. I ordered a prime rib dinner- $35. It came out and looked great.....however it was room temperature as was the baked potato. No vegetables, no bread. No one even asked how it was....I ate 2/3 and took the rest home in a box for my dog. Save your money. Go elsewhere. Youll get better food and better value. read more

Absolutely worth the stop!! I could not say more wonderful things about the NEWLY updated and owned JPH. The new owner, Danny Nolan, made our group feel as if he knew us personally. He asked for our unbiased comments and thoughts!! The new menu is thoughtful and intriguing. Our group shared a wealth of not only appetizers but sandwiches and entrees. Had a great Rueben and my friend had the Crab Mac and Cheese. My Rueben rivaled any Rueben I have had at a Jewish Deli. The Mac and Cheese was delicious, according to my friend. I hate posting this since this has been our go to local bar for years. Last night we walked in at about 7 and it was dead. I mean very few patrons. Saturday nights used to be their big night. I guess things change but this place appears to be on its last leg. The employees were yelling back and forth at each other across the bar and obviously were not happy to be there. Makes me sad that there has been no updates to the menu, to the decor to anything. Thank you for responding to my review. I didn't overlook the empty beer garden or empty deck, they are both beautiful. However when the radiator cover in the women's bathroom is rusting away and the interior of the bar has empty slushee machines, a menu that has not been updated in a very long time it would seem to a person that something might be a little "off". I know that covid was a difficult time for your industry and we supported your restaurant primarily through those times however I does not give a pass to your employees behavior. My experience at your establishment should be based on as if it were my first time there. If that was my first time I would not be back. P.S. bar tenders should also not sit at the bar on their cell phones watching the Phillies game while customers drinks are empty. read more

I have been coming here for a long time and love the food, ambiance and usually the service is great. The only issue I had was the last time I came in my server Angelina I believe told us the credit card machine was down and we could only pay cash. This turned out to be a lie, but we did give her cash. I'm not sure why she felt the need to lie about this but I hope management vets the servers a bit more as service has been slipping since the pandemic. Otherwise lovely place! read more

Made it here for the first time since the reopening/owner changed. Was my wife and two kids. Food was absolutely amazing. I had the mussels which was a perfectly spicy red sauce. Wife had a rib special, kids had burgers (best burger he ever ate) and chicken fingers. The fries are unique and delicious. We also had the cheese curds which were very good. Since this place has been transformed into a family friendly establishment, complete with game room for the kids, and large beer menu, I have been meaning to stop by. I went there with the hope that I would have pasta with oil and garlic, but that appears to have been removed from the menu, and not reflected on the website. Their beer selection is big, with probably at least 25 taps. You are given a list to peruse, with stamps over kegs that have kicked and stamps saying just tapped. It was a bit confusing to read, and also lacked sufficient description of the beers to give you a good idea of what something is without tasting it. I had a bottle of George Washington's Porter from Yards, which is one of my favorites. Bar loses points for giving me a frosted glass to pour it into. Second beer was a Paulaner Oktoberfest. For food I got the Monday special, the Pour House burger. It is a big burger served on a brioche style bun. I asked for it medium rare and it game out medium well. The burger had some caramelization on it but really lacked in flavor. A single piece of cheddar was melted on it, not even covering the whole top of the burger. Through eating the burger, the bun disintegrated, leaving me no choice but to eat the remainder with knife and fork. But not a bad deal for five dollars. The moral of the story is you can put 25 tap lines in, but unless you can communicate to patrons and provide good food to go along with it, you will only go so far. Jamison Pour House has come half way. Lets see if they can bring it home to make this a truly wonderful establishment. read more

First time stopping in after driving by for years. The service was very good. We sat in the dining room area and the music from the bar was soft enough for conversation. The hot roast beef sandwich was excellent. The meat was well done and the au jus was flavorful. The Viking hamburger was huge and very taste. I left satisfied and filled, but even the next day there was nothing memorable about my meal. It was a good quality burger, prepared medium rare as ordered, but the flavor just wasn't there. Mushrooms were chopped in half, which meant everything constantly fell off the burger. Is it that hard to slice flat? I do it all the time. The bun was one of those hipster deals that's all shiny on top and falls apart on the bottom. And it looked like the top bun was grilled - and buttered? If the menu said anything about that, I would have told them not to. I don't like surprises. There is indeed a very nice beer selection on tap. I still found it expensive enough to only order one instead of two. All in all I feel that I emptied about $5 more out of my wallet than I needed to for a meal like this - good quality all around, but not worth returning to. Then again, I haven't found anything in the Doylestown area really worth returning to. So if you're stuck there and don't want to drive miles toward Philly, maybe you should tack a star on. For what it's worth, the other people with me seemed to like this place about 4 stars' worth. I just couldn't justify it myself. read more

Excellent beer selection and the food was quite good. The variety of beer was incredibly varied, many of which I have never tried (Magic Hat Elder Betty), and some that I didn't think we could get in our area (Russian River). Old friends of ours had moved back to the area so we invited them out to dinner. What a different experience we had this time around. Food was delicious, beer was cold and tasty and our server was very attentive. Our crab cake, cheesesteak and roast beef sandwiches were good. Fries were very tasty and cooked to perfection. Only downside was that the rolls for our sandwiches tasted a bit stale. They fell apart after one bite into the sandwich. It was a very slow Sunday night in August, so you would have thought the bread would have been fresher. I bumped the rating one star because the food, beer and service were much better then our last visit here in January. Although the end result is still the same.
