    a dog and a beer

LAHASKA, PA: Free Will Brewing has a taproom at Peddler's Village where leashed dogs are allowed outside on the deck overlooking a beautiful courtyard. 12 craft beers are on tap and offers a diverse variety, including a couple of wheat options, which seem to hard to find nowadays. Their main location in Perkasie also allows leashed dogs outside. A great stop to quench your thirst in the middle of shopping!

Nice little taproom in Peddler's Village. We popped in for a beer and sat inside but a lot of people were outside with their beers (beautiful for mid February) and apparently you can walk around with them. I had the hazy ipa and my wife had the czech pilsner, both were solid.

Love this place in peddlers village. The beer is really good and the outdoor space is awesome! Great place for a pit stop while exploring the shops at peddlers village!

I'm so glad I got to try this place especially during Covid. Most of the beers are on tap and if there's something specific you like, some of the beers are sold as a four pack for takeout. This place really adheres to social distancing. I made the mistake of entering from the deck and the gentleman told me I had to enter from the front entrance next time. ( note to self) They were kind enough to let me sample a few beers because I wasn't familiar with them or how'd they taste. They really had a nice assortment and some unusual flavors. I chose their Prickly Pear Margarita Mash, it was 7.5%. I really enjoyed this beer. It had a really good flavor and a beautiful rich ruby red color. I like citrusy beer so this was kind of up my alley. My friend had their mango wheat beer and he really enjoyed it. I got to taste it, and it reminded me of fresh mangos. It was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to sit outside on their deck, it was so relaxing. Everyone was spaced 6 ft. apart. I had a nice view of Peddler's Village while I enjoyed my beer. This is definitely a place to try while in Peddler's Village.

I had no idea that Free Will had a tap room at Peddlers Village, what an awesome surprise! My boyfriend and I came up to Peddlers Village for the Apple Festival, and my boyfriend was THRILLED to spend the afternoon shopping (hint, hint, sarcasm) so to find a place that he would enjoy was a real treat. The taproom itself was small, but cozy with to go cans in a refrigerator to your right and then the bar and taps to your right. If you go up they stairs and to the right, there is more seating around the corner. I've never actually heard of Free Will (sorry fam) so the bar tender was extremely nice and helpful with picking something out and offering information about the brewery (actually located in Perkasie) I ended up getting the Grapesciple because I enjoyed the sound or Merlot grapes being used (clearly a wine lover) and my boyfriend went for the C.O.B (coffee oatmeal brown) which is apparently one of his favorites (lol, I'm a horrible girlfriend for not knowing that). We stayed for about an hour and watched the Penn State game on their big screen. I enjoyed the cozy vibes and the great beers! So glad that Peddlers Village has added something to the mix that boyfriends and husbands (And girlfriends too, haha) will enjoy while their partners shop all day.

Great place to relax and unwind. Come in for a pour out buy a flight. Sit at the bar or sofas in the back. Want a table? There are tables for you and your group too. Want to walk around with your cup as you peruse the Village, just ask for it to go and they're great at that too. Now for their stars, the beers... Solid beers. Defending on your preference, you can order whatever suits your taste. If you're in a quandary, just ask them and they'll give you solid advice.

Beer is delicious, but just poured my 10 oz beer into my 16 oz cup, the 10 oz fits perfectly in the 16 oz. Not much difference between the size of the cups.

I came with a friend who was used to traveling into PA and we came to his favorite around Peddler's Village. Christine was our bartender. It was pretty quiet when we were there, but there seems to be a regular group of the people who always hang around here. They were very amicable and munificent of giving us a lot of locations to try out for dinner. I had there "Satisfying Chaos", which was an Imperial Chocolate Stout and my friend ordered, "Bolded Bubbles," which was a Brut IPA. They were great, but I strongly preferred the Stout. Everyone was welcoming and will revisit them again when I am around.

Quick and easy place to grab a beer at peddlers village. They had a good selection of beers and even a cider.

Inside kind of feels like a farmhouse vibe with the browns and greens. The bar downstairs with the more formal seating upstairs is pretty cool. Service was good, waitress was warm and friendly; took our order timely, and wait times weren't overly long. My appetizer was forgotten at first but it was brought out a little after the meals were. I ordered the grouper finger appetizer and red snapper Provençal, and wifey had the filet mignon with sweet potato fries. My grouper fingers were light and fluffy with a touch of crisp from the coating. The snapper dish was tasty, not a fan of mushrooms but dealt with them since the overall combo of spinach, caper, and tomato went well. The fish was served skin side down, which was crispy. I get plating the accompaniments on top, but not on the skin, however should have removed the skin since it was pointless. The cookery of the fish was good, ends were a little chewy due to getting the skin crispy, but I didn't mind. The house rice was a bit mushy, but had a good flavor since the capers were also inside. Wifey's steak was cooked correctly and tasted good too. It came with bleu cheese and a butter sauce which went well with the fries and meat. She thought it was a nice meal. Overall, would return to Porterhouse if I ever visit Peddler's again.

I recently visited during lunch hours and had a quick delicious lunch with my wife. Parking was found easily on the side lot and plenty of seating was available. Since we were in a rush we sat at the bar. The bartender was quick to take our order which was a Chicken Caesar Salad for me and a Chicken Quesadilla for the wife. Both orders came out quickly and were good. The ingredients were fresh, portions were good and the flavors were just right for our simple lunch. They had Fiddlehead IPA on tap which was nice to see as it's one of the more popular and tasty somewhat newer IPA's in our market. On that day their tap list had a nice variety of styles. The Fiddlehead was fresh and hoppy so I would say they definitely get their lines cleaned. The inside may be a bit dated and a little dark, but for me the rest of the experience was just fine. Our lunch was reasonably priced and they have a lunch program where you buy 5 lunches and get the 6th free. It never expires so I'll have to visit again!! The bottle shop used to be a must visit and still kind of is. I used to journey up there to find some rarer domestic craft and foreign bottles, but they've scaled back their inventory overall and are a bit more unorganized then they were a few years ago. I hope they get that back up to snuff! Definitely a visit if you're in the area and in the need of decent eats and a good craft beer.

On my most recent visit, I ordered the linguine con pollo, while my partner ordered a hanger steak from that day's specials. I thought I was satisfied with my homemade pasta, perfectly tender chicken, and delicate white wine sauce -- a seemingly simple combination that few can replicate with such precision. But when I tried a bite of the melt-in-your-mouth hanger steak and the risotto which accompanied it, I realized that, somehow, it *is* possible to go wrong here. To be sure, we have been looking for excuses to find our way back here before the steak falls off the menu, just so that she could have it again and I could have a portion completely to myself. I have been to places with larger portion sizes, but invariably the food is a cut below. Personally, I'll take the European portion size and the superior food over the American portion size and the mediocre food every time. Except if we're talking about say, cheesesteaks. Which we are not. This is quite possibly the best Italian restaurant outside city limits, and it will be a staple of me and my partner's holiday traditions for years to come.
