We had such a good time with Gabby during our wine tasting. We went back the next day too. The wine slushies are great!

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

Therefore, I'm not going to say that Fran's in in the running for a Michelin star but as a pub, it certainly did the trick offering up robust sandwiches and a couple of cold ones - all without a single mention of being farm raised or ethically sourced. Four stars for not being in with the in crowd.

With just 1.27 square miles of land area, New Hope's primary industry is tourism. Year-round and especially on weekends, visitors clog the narrow sidewalks on Main Street, window-shopping or enjoying one of its numerous eateries. This was my first time back from an 11-year hiatus. My partner and I decided on a quick bite for lunch yesterday and chose Fran's Pub, known as Biker Central in the spring/summer on South Main Street. It offered multiple distinct dining areas to match one's mood, whether enjoying a family dinner on their semi-enclosed patio, playing pool in the pub bar, or people watching from the impressive large outdoor seating area with umbrellas or heaters. Greeted by the staff upon entering as first-timers, we sat in their semi-enclosed patio, whose doors that opened to the street had the nice warmth of the sun. With a five-page menu consisting of house-made or house-prepared dishes that cater to all appetites, we decided on a small Beef Vegetable soup (soup of the day), Hot Pastrami Pub sandwich, and Aioli Pesto Chicken sandwich. The sandwiches accompanied house-made Fried Potato Chips. Food was tasty and satisfied our stomachs. Service was fast, friendly, and our server was Melissa. Price was reasonable. We could recommend this place.
