Aristaeus, an Ancient Greek demigod of beekeepers and vine planters (and apparently of beer fermentation), has taken up quarters in an old industrial building on Big Oak Road in Langhorne, PA. The adaptive reuse is rustic and effective, with more shaded outdoor patio seating than indoor bar and scattered tables near the stainless vats that produce some pretty tasty lagers. Son and I stopped in for a quick taste and Fathers' Day tipple, sitting at the bar for a close look at the operation and to be able to sample everything available from the multi-tapped ale pipes. Our keeper was friendly and an able hostess, allowing us to sample six variants before we settled on New England Fog for the young man, and Blackberry Summer Smash for this dude. Both made a statement; the hazy lager with a pronounced pleasant flavor and the seasonal berry a slightly sweet aftertaste that was enjoyable as it flowed down the gullet. Only real questionable aspect was the "Food Truck," from Giovanni's Pickle (not the full name, but you can find it if interested). In fact, there was no truck, but only a temporary canopy with tables of pickle jars for purchase and sampling, and a small cooler with their famous Pickle Hoagie. What's that, you ask? Well it's an Italian hoagie (ham, spiced ham, provolone, bacon & mayo on a large hollowed out dill pickle). Grab it and take a big bite. Not bad as an original approach to a sandwich, but not much to shout about after the initial thrill is gone. Overall, it was disappointing as a snack as the only choice available. It seemed our barkeep was somewhat disdainful of their effort, and after exploring the goods I understood why. There was very little "there" there. So, go for the beer, but if hungry, hope for a better food alternative. If there's no truck, you're out of luck! 3.5 STARS

I would love more snack options inside the brewery itself, but this is a great hidden gem and the trivia nights are so fun!

I asked waiter if they did anything special for birthdays and he said no but he came out with a dessert and I thought that was really nice until I read that all kids meals came with a drink and dessert. So he actually shorted us a dessert since we had two kids meals. Waiter didn't really check in. On us as he did others. We needed refills but didn't hassle him but would have been nice. For the adults the food was great taking off a point for the kids meal and service.

Parking is decent , and the full liquor bar is a real bonus, not just PA spirits iykyk , so rideshare was a must for me to fully enjoy. We ordered the zinger mountain melt hot and topped it with the shrimp feature, basically a mashup of two menu items and absolutely worth trying . The flavors worked surprisingly well together and felt like a fun upgrade . What stood out most was being able to sit, talk, and actually enjoy the meal, just like a dine in experience should be . The atmosphere made it easy to relax and linger a bit . I'd gladly revisit and definitely will on my next trip to the area .

I literally had to walk around the bar to find her to get our check because we waited 20 minutes for drinks that I had to cancel because it was taking way too long. Once I found her she said they're out of corona light which is one of the drinks we ordered. I told her no worries just remove them from the check because we really need to get going. My husband had wings which he enjoyed. I ordered chicken pot pie and the filling and crust were super thick and not good. I definitely wouldn't go back again.

They can hold 20-500 people for private events according to their website. The inside is dark and could use a bit of a refresh, but I wouldn't say it's close to the level of dive. It's certainly on the larger side compared to most bars in the area. The staff has always been nice, but service can get slow when the crowd size grows. Just the nature of things. Food wise the menu has a typical mix of pub grub - apps, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and several entrees. A friend was eating their jumbo Buffalo Shrimp off the starter menu and raved about them. I stuck to a Cheesesteak which was average but a deal at $9.50 -- the chopped steak was decent, cheese was good just needed a bit more. Hot peppers gave it some kick and the long roll was fresh. Their beer menu has around a dozen beers on tap. They dabble in more mainstream big beer/craft beer like your Goose Island IPA's/Lagunitas IPA, but do have a decent show of locals like Yards, Victory, Troegs and Weyerbacher. Bourbon wise I had a Knob Creek neat which was average price wise. The pour was on the generous side. Each time I've been here the crowds have been friendly and having a good time. The band we listened to was great and the sound was crisp. Five Four is a family friendly grill during the day and a fun place for adults later at night. Thanks guys!

A couple weeks ago she had the nerve to comment on my face in front of the entire table. She claimed that I "always give her dirty looks" and "always look so angry when I'm here". I was stunned and so embarrassed. For one, I don't know her personally, we have never had a conversation outside of her taking my order and quite frankly it's none of her business how my face looks anyway. Second of all how embarrassing is it to be called out in front of a bunch of people like that? I couldn't believe the words that came out of her mouth. Before I left I politely told her I didn't appreciate her calling me out like that and she got very defensive. Not an apology from her, she didn't care one bit. She started arguing with me and acting like I was overreacting and like she didn't do anything wrong. She should take a look at herself in the mirror and think twice before she speaks. I'll never step foot into this bar again.
