Awesome, awesome, place! Came from out of town, didn't expect much. 'Yelped' dive bars, and this gem showed up. Went in for a beer and a shot, made friends with the bartender "Joe". Nothing crazy. Had a blast as far as I know, woke up 3 days later in Vegas Woke up, out of my fucking mind, in a panic mode. Immediately Uber'd to the airport and to fly back home and safe. Who shows up? Joe. He says, "trust me". I agree in my out of mind state. ... Before I Know it I'm home safe and sound , had an amazing brunch. fuck this place is GOOD! Total trip! read more

Just a good old Irish bar. Couple of folks from the group wanted some hot, spiked drinks so here we came. Had the toddy, Irish coffee and the hot chocolate. The drinks were nice and strong and at the end of it all, everyone was warmed up. No complaints read more

A Google search brought us here as I wanted to chill at a new hope dive bar. The reviews and pictures made it seem like this would be a good place. I love dive bars. However, this was one of the worst ever. We arrive and you walk downstairs and then as you open the door there is a very small bar top with maybe 5-6 bar top seats. There does appear to be some additional table seating beyond and an outdoor patio. However, it was hot and I had no desire for outdoors. Aside from the small layout the first thing that really punched us as we walked in was the smell. It was musty and funky. We stayed despite this. So we sit at the bar top and I ordered a single house vodka and cranberry (because I was trying to keep it simple as I didn't think anything complicated would be made right) and then my husband ordered a harp draft. Two drinks $19. I didn't ask the breakdown although I was curious. When I saw the bartender make my drink there was barely any vodka in it. Another couple nearby ordered a coors light and it was $6. I'm not cheap as I went to Stella later and ordered a couple $17 cocktails because that is what their price point is and their environment and atmosphere matches that. This environment and atmosphere didn't match that or their price point even being in prime new hope real estate. They also need to clean the bar. After our one drink we left. Highly disappointed in this place because of the layout, atmosphere and weak drinks that felt like a ripoff. read more

Amazing local spot in downtown New Hope. Freddy and Frank were so social and amazing to talk to. After a hard day work at dilly's I come here and relax with amazing ambience and vibes of a speakeasy in our own New Hope. We talked about Dilly's, a local hotdog grease box and shared amazing memories and made great friends!!!! Super Hyper Omega suggest coming to Michael Kelly's Irish Pub!!!! read more

When I visit New Hope this pub is a must stop. Love the atmosphere and interesting selection of Guinness drinks. The staffs always on top of their game, conversational and add to a relaxing chill atmosphere. read more

I've been going to the Irish Pub for at least the last 6 years. Great place to begin the night. Parking is nearby in the Triumph lot and the rest of the bars are down the main street. Great vibe, live music on weekends, and the owner is hilarious. The only negative comment I have about the Irish Pub is that sometimes they are closed randomly on a Friday or Saturday night during prime bar hopping time. I do not recommend the restaurant upstairs, however. If you are going to eat out in New Hope, you have other restaurants that are astronomically better. Try out Salt House! read more

Every restaurant has good days and bad days and based on the reviews prior to mine, maybe this place is or was good pre-COVID. But not this weekend. Dirty, unkept, ransanked and flat. Wife and I ordered a Guinness and 1. it was served in a plastic cup. A major no no and 2. it was warm with no head. Warning sign right there. When I ventured inside to visit the bathroom, the interior of the place looked like a tornado had ripped through it. Piles of crap everywhere and a beer fridge with very little beer. I ordered mussels and after seeing the Guinness and the conditions of the place and the staff completely disconnected to everything around them, I started to wonder if I'd get sick consuming them. When they brought them out, the staff could not locate us and they were left on the bar and ignored. We tried to flag the staff down, but again....completely disconnected from everything. When they finally saw us, which was nothing short of us sending smoke signals, the server assured me that they were fresh. Another warning sign. But the one shining light was...they were fresh and they were decent. So I tip my hat to the cook. But this place was waaay off its game and in need of a complete renovation, including the serving staff. Send in John Taffer. read more

Michael Kelly's Irish pub outdoor patio/ Villa Vito's... Is my favorite restaurant in the world! I'm an Italian girl and don't eat Italian out to often, but love the food here. It's a Family-based restaurant Freddie his brother his sisters and his nephews run the place. When you come here you feel like you're eating with family. The outdoor patio is gorgeous and so relaxing. My friends Illeen and Bob Turned me on to this place seven or eight years ago. They have been coming here for over 30 years. This place is the best. It's cozy and chill, a great place to grab a drink on a weeknight or stop by on a Saturday for a pizza and a brew. The bartenders are incredibly warm. You might think this place was just a locals spot but they welcome everyone with a smile and a pint. If you're staying at the Bridge street inn it's right next store and a must see. We will totally be back. A+ spot. read more

The owner was personable, funny, friendly, and eager to make you laugh. A young lady came in for an application for a job and they made her feel comfortable. Seriously, though, rock paper scissors was a little too much. It made my boyfriend and I both uncomfortable and wondered what exactly was in store for her. Love this place. We went in on a Sunday night. It was us and another gang celebrating a birthday for a gal named Marge, same as my wife's. Before you know it they bought us drinks. Next thing I know we're all singing ( sweet Caroline ) and drinking . great place and meet great people. read more

The whole family stopped in here to get out of the cold and met Frank ( I think that was his name ) and he said just "come in and sit" if we want- WOW I mean no push to buy drinks, etc. Just low key friendly bar feeling. He said some folks have complained that the "Irish" part is not really so authentic- WHO CARES .It was warm, friendly and we ended up having some drinks, played darts and just chatted. The icing on the cake was he brought down a sample of the pizza from the upstairs restaurant, "Villa Vito" it was excellent! Mind you, I lived in Manhattan and Chicago for a bit and know good pizza. This pub is in the basement along the main street of New Hope. We came in because there was bag pipe music playing outside and it caught my bf's attention. Came in and immediately started a conversation with the male bartender they have (cannot remember his name but he is great!) he poured us some drinks that he made for us after we asked him to "just impress us." My drink was strong!! and he was very friendly, the people visiting as well. It is a great bar, with a great vibe for low maintenance people. Only bad was the bartender recommended the Italian restaurant they have upstairs called Villa Vito and it was just awful! read more

We always stop by this bar just for the people. It is quite unique being that it is underground. What it lacks in formality, it more than makes up with a good time! A trip to New Hope is incomplete without at least stopping by for a beer. read more
