Pag's Pub is one of those places that keeps me coming back. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and exactly what you want from a neighborhood pub. Cozy bar seating, friendly staff, and a relaxed vibe make it a great spot whether you're stopping in for a quick drink or settling in for the evening. The service was excellent from start to finish--attentive, personable, and genuinely hospitable. The bar team made great cocktails, and both the Aperol Spritz and Espresso Martini were spot on. Food was equally impressive. I love seeing escargot on a pub menu, and Pag's executes it beautifully. The personal pizza was delicious with a crisp crust and great flavor, and the stuffed mussels were a standout appetizer. Everything came out fresh and well prepared. For something that is called a Pub and Wine bar the drinks were horrible. I had a martini off the menu and the pineapple juice tasted expired. So they made me a different drink, an espresso martini, bitter, plus it said it had Kalua in it, it def didn't. It was a Friday night and they were horribly understaffed . Our food came out before we got drinks. Food was ok. Then we waited for utensils. Water was never filled. Just disappointing all around. read more

We sat outside on the patio on a cool fall night which was kind of delightful. I enjoyed seeing all of the people walking by. We had two servers who were very pleasant. We started with some drinks: Moscow mule, Dewey draught, and a white wine. All good and crisply cold. They were a little slow to the table though. I had the burger. It was good but not great. It was a little underwhelming in terms of the patty size. I didn't think of it until I had the burger, but the server didn't ask how I wanted the burger cooked. It turned out to be OK; it was probably medium well. They don't carry mayonnaise--what?!? It came with a side of chips and dressed salad greens. Pag's Pub has some unsavory reviews on here, so I must catch them on their good days. My boyfriend and I frequent this spot when in Doylestown and have never had a bad experience. I'll say - we've never been there during prime dinner or lunch rush hours though, nor when there's a major crowd. We've only had to wait once and were seated within five minutes. It's a small eatery though - it's a pub, after all - so I can see how that could affect the experience on a busy day. ANYWAY - food. We always get the grilled Greek cheese. You need to eat it as soon as it's served, while it's warm, and it's delicious. The antipasto is also tasty to start. We usually split a pizza for our entree and always land on the Di Parma. It's thin crust, brick oven pizza and perfect to split with someone after having an app or two. They also have a nice beer selection. The last time we went, the bartender was very helpful with navigating what they have on tap and made good recommendations. We'll continue to return to Pag's Pub because it's always treated us well! We usually end up going early afternoon, around 2pm-ish and that seems to be the sweet spot. We always leave comfortably satisfied! read more

Went to lunch with my family. We live in town. Pizza took 25 minutes to arrive. The waiter dropped a glass and it shattered on the pizza. Mistakes happen. What happened next is inexcusable. We sent the pizza back obviously. They perhaps didn't realize we had direct visualization of the pizza oven from where we were sitting. The same pizza we just sent back with glass shards was wiped off and put right back in. 1 minute later it was done. I waived over the owner who also happens to be the pizza chef and very clearly asked him if the pizza my family and I were about to eat was a fresh new pizza, he said "yes, of course " We obviously called BS, and left. This is not only lying and being disrespectful it's criminal. Anyone who goes here should know these folks do not care about your well being, only there bottom line. I could only imagine the field day the health dept would have. read more

We went here for the first time on Friday night. We stopped for happy hour. They had a nice beer selection. It was very small and doesn't have many tables. Mostly bar seats. We shared the margarita pizza and escargot. The pizza was pretty good, but took forever to get. The escargot was ok. I wish I had a big roll to dip in the the oil. Pre pandemic I went here frequently - sat at the bar and often had a great time with good food, nice setting and friendly staff. Last night, sitting outside the staff was still great. However, our burgers were skimpy, weirdly shaped, over seasoned- looked like an overdone air hockey puck inside of a huge roll. When we alerted the waitstaff that one burger was lacking the mushrooms and cheddar ordered she nicely went back to tell the chef. She came back embarrassed as the chef was asking for '"proof" and wanted to see the burger. She did so and returned saying the chef insisted all of the ingredients were there. She was great, agreed with our complaint and took charges for these items off of the bill. But really, what was up with this chef??? I think an overhaul of the burgers and back of the house attitude need an adjustment here. read more

This is a local version of an overpriced European cafe. Service was friendly, although we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated since all six tables were taken. I had a prosciutto sandwich and a Guinness, and my wife had a personal pizza and a Coke for which we paid just under $35 (dollars, not euros). The quality was nothing to write home about, just average. Parking was impossible in the area, which is why we decided to try this place as we intended to go to another restaurant that had gone out of business. read more

I understand that we are in unprecedented times. I am also sympathetic bc I have worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for many years. BUT I wasn't asking for much. It was saturday around 330. We were a party of 4 out for a drink and an appetizer. We were sat in the alley at a picnic table, no problems. It did take 15 minutes for someone to take our drink and app order, (mind you, there were more empty tables then full ones) and it took 40 minutes to receive our drinks (3 beers and 1 cocktail). 3 out of 4 were incorrect and by the time we got them, weren't proper temperature. We ordered 1 cheese platter and 1 charcuterie. I thought that maybe they were jumping on the trend of amazing millennial inspired charcuterie boards. They did not. The cheese board consisted of (I kid you not) 6 chunks of parmesan (yes parmesan, the dry cheese that is amazing grated over pasta and said dishes) and exactly 1 apricot cut into tiny slices made for Stewart Little with a bonus "side salad" that was a sad helping of iceberg lettuce and grated carrot with a dressing devoid of flavor. The charcuterie looked like a plate made of about 5 slices of prosciutto and 2 tabs of butter. I wouldn't have been so offended if perhaps these 2 disastrous dishes were combined into 1 offering for 10$, but in fact the two were over 20$. I would've said something to the waitress but we never saw her after originally being sat. A nice man came and gave us our check but he only really spoke Italian. All in all our encounter took over 2 hours for 1 round of drinks and 2 appetizers. In the mean time we witnessed other tables get sat and have food (including burgers). I'm not privy to their employment needs, but I have a inkling they might need more wait staff. I cannot give you advice on what to do to procure better service at Pags, but I can say; do not waste and money on the cheese board or charcuterie plate and also the la catrina drink on the special was great. read more

I recommend the combination platter- it includes stuffed grape leaves, tomato cucumber salad, couscous and hummus with pita bread. The gelato is pretty good as well. Coworkers and I really wanted to go for drinks and I was looking for a small bite to eat. Although it wasn't on the menu, we wanted dirty martinis. The olives tasted old and they weren't dirty at all. They were $10.50. I ordered the falafel and the flavors were so conflicting, it wasn't like Mediterranean at all. The pita was thin, the falafel itself was so dry, and there was a cucumber salad inside that tasted like Italian flavoring. The side salad that came with it was shredded carrots and lettuce and the dressing on it tasted like blue cheese. Nothing tasted like a falafel dish I've ever had before. Some might find this okay if they've never had falafel, but this had no flavor of a Mediterranean dish. We ordered the mussels to split and they were breaded, dry and way too salty. They tasted like they were baked in an oven for too long. For the quality of food, timeliness of service, it is way too overpriced. Our waitress was nice though. Another woman came out and asked about our food and we told her we weren't really happy. She waived the food and we just paid for drinks and she wasn't rude, which made it easier. No one likes to report that they are unsatisfied with their meal, so I'm glad they didn't make us feel uncomfortable. I enjoy this place. I've been here quite a few times since my move to Doylestown. They have an outstanding beer list on tap. Almost all are craft with a few exceptions. The whisky list is so so, but better than what's available in most of the borough. The bartenders need work--far from pros but they seem to be enough for what the business demands of them. The food I've had thus far has been pretty tasty--the pizzas and monte cristo are wonderful. Service is solid. The only real downside is the cocktail list. Way too many options. I've tried several and they're quite uneventful. Plus they require the bartenders to refer to a box full of index cards. If I were the owners, I'd cut the list down to no more than 10-12 and make them out of this world instead of 30+ forgettables. read more

The staff needs to learn to talk to people and look at you and speak clearly. Walked in to be seated and was ignored until I went up to bar. Seated outside and took way too long to be waited on. Quiet Sunday afternoon and place was 1/2 full. Ordered pizza and salad and watched someone else seated after us get an appetizer and still not even a salad. Had to ask for salad to come out before pie - waitress never asked nor did she ever check back to see how meal was or if we needed anything. Watched another waitress drop half used hummus ramiken on floor and she never bothered to wipe up spill. When we got home we realized the hummus had splattered all over my dads hat that was on the chair. Food was nothing to write home about. We won't be back. read more

Great burger and caprese salad. Ok veggie rolls--not quite sure what that paste was in them but it tasted ok. Horrible service. The server was sooo soo so bored to be there today--she talked and moved slowly like she just didn't give a schitt tho her shirt said to give one. Ha. The service here is beyond subpar. We have tried not once but three times because I dont judge a place on first impression. We came to the conclusion that apparently they train their bartenders how to ignore the 3 customers with empty glasses at the bar. Don't get me wrong, it was not busy at all! Shame, because we probably would have ordered 3 or 4 more drinks if they were on top of their customers. Guess the owner isnt interested in maximizing sales. The pesto pizza on a Friday is delicious if you can cope with neglectful service. Actually we do like several pizzas we have tried minus the 4 cheese (the gorgonzola was too overpowering ). Don't miss out on the duct tape on bar drawer, menus warped from spilled beer, long waits and dirty glasses. Oh and tonight, we were met with fruit flies and college bar stink. Fantastic. With having premium Doylestown street frontage, I would have expected so much more. I've been a regular for years. I love their salads and the thin crust pizzas. The falafel is good as well as the soup. The ingredients taste like they are very good quality and fresh. The menu unfortunately has not changed in years. I know the owner can be a bit on the cool side, but he really wants things to be right for his customers. My daughter's friend used to waitress there and said that he holds his staff to high standards. The cappuccino and desserts are excellent. My favorite in D-town. Yes, the place is small. That's the point, it's an intimate experience. The food is not slathered in fatty sauces like the popular Italian restaurant nearby (not of the same name). I hope you'll give it another chance. It's a lovely experience to eat on the front deck in the warmer months. read more
