Came to Vela for a wedding. The atmosphere was beautiful and the bar excellent. Everything was top notch from the appetizers, platters, entrees and desserts. The rustic wood fired pizza was also delicious and the service impeccable. I'd love to come back for dinner as a patron and try some of their other dishes.

Food was slightly above average. Quality only slightly below price Staff was very friendly but service was a tad on the slow side Restaurant is extremely clean, spacious and comfortable. But I would have liked a tad more AC. Bathroom was very clean but no urinal screen isn't ideal Old fashioned was solid. Overall a pretty good stop

Modern spacious decor. Very good service. Great for date night or a special occasion. The only reason for 4 stars is the pasta pappardelle was a bit bland and overcooked.

Wonderful experience. The food, service and ambiance was fantastic. It was our first visit here, and look forward to returning. Very classy establishment!

We ate here Saturday July 14, 2018. Greg the manager said they have been open only 3 weeks. We were pleased with the décor, specialty cocktails, food, and service. This place has a modern open space design with lots of windows and high ceilings that ad to the atmosphere. We will absolutely return for another visit. The special beet salad was crisp and delicious. For my main entrée I enjoyed one of the specials -- Halibut with cous cous and spinach. We also ordered a side of cauliflower and potatoes au gratin which was rich and savory. Finished off the meal with blueberry crisp. All round outstanding meal. I highly recommend coming here. Enjoy!

Food and service was excellent, the level of noise was reasonable and allowed for conversation.

Good but not great. I will return but would not rave about it or take people there to impress.

On this visit, we sampled a wide array of dishes: Truffle & Smoke Potato Chips Grilled Halloumi Risotto Cakes Spare Ribs Beet Salad Mushroom Soup Bison Skewers Yellowtail Ceviche The standout favorites of the night were the Grilled Halloumi and the Mushroom Soup -- both were exceptional. We ordered a healthy medley encompassing the Miso-Maple Yams, Shrimp Martini, Blackened Green Beans, Fried Oysters, Black Tea Glazed ribs which were ALL absolutely scrumptious to the UMPTIOUS and the one dish that knocked our socks off clean out of our boots, that we loved sooo much, that we were planning to invite into the family tree was the Kanpachi Ceviche. Everything was fresh and delicious. The best part though was when the owner came over to ask how everything was and we got to chatting about family. I loved hearing his story and seeing the sentimental pieces he had representing the people he loved on display. What a kind and wonderful man. I'm already looking forward to my next dining experience there.

It was all exciting about trying some very interesting dishes on the pre-fix meal, but unfortunately, it was not the stellar experience that I was hoping for. For starters, our server and "Director of First Impressions", Amber, was cold, aloof, and disconnected. She was just running through her role in a very detached manner. We made no connection with our server and the server is 50% of the experience. She was rushing. No one was there yet to take her time, and we felt that we had no connection with our server whatsoever. She didn't show any passion for the dishes other than sharing what she felt were her favorites. In a restaurant, speak in creative terms about the food, have and show passion for the food you represent. The four of us discussed the menu, and we all aligned and were going to taste around the table. Between the four of us, one tried the Thai pork dish, one the shrimp dish, and two the eggplant Parm dish. In summary, we all felt that they were underwhelming, and they missed their mark on expectation and wow factor. For example, the Thai pork dish that I had was supposed to have a Thai flair to it. If there was any, it was on the lower end of the flavor profile. It was a tiny dollop of some sort of red Thai chilli sauce, but it wasn't enough of a flavor profile to make me say yes, that's Thai-inspired, and frankly, it was lukewarm, yes the meat was tender. My wife and a friend had the eggplant Parm dish and also felt uninspired by their dishes. One was overcooked compared to the other; the two asked for additional sauce to give it some more flavor. Yes, it was a nice evening out, and you get a lot for your money with a multi-course dining experience. One other oddity. During the dessert course, which was a type of bread pudding, we were not offered coffee nor tea. Even it would have been extra, who doesn't offer a hot beverage with dessert, especially in the artic temps we are experiencing this winter. I had nearly an hour drive home, and coffee would have been most appreciated. Oh well. So in summary, I would have expected this to be a five-star review all day long. Unfortunately, it's not even close,e and this is coming from 2 couples opinion.
