    Brussels to the Beet
    Caryn P.

Cute little spot with fresh food. The popcorn chicken is a staple and nice size portion. Gotta get the love bird sauce! We also had the love bird sandwich which was delicious. The Brussels to the Beet salad was delicious - quinoa with greens and cooked Brussel sprouts - but what confused me was the lack of beets. Beet is in the title of the salad but there were non to be found. It said shaved but again, none, maybe it was just beet greens but that should be in the description- otherwise it was delicious. I don't know what the dressing is but it was light and citrusy - I will def be back!

Tasty food and a fun environment, but very overpriced and burnt. The fried chicken is lovely and crisp with the option of a house made sauce. The brussels sprouts were burnt and too sweet. I will not be returning simply because the prices are outrageous for a fried chicken place. They have a lot of young staff who were efficient, but the man who made the order seemed very unhappy when he came out. The three stars is for the decent tasting food, cleanliness, and presentation of the items in paper products.

Stopped in after visiting the local museum, figuring you can't go wrong with chicken & fries ! I was greeted with a smile and a hello which as a visitor was much appreciated. The interior is cozy: seating is either one long picnic table or bar seating along the window and since I was the only person there at the time I chose the window. The menu is pretty streamlined: chicken by the piece, sides, salads and sandwiches. You have your choice of sauces you can add as well. All of their drinks are bottled. I decided on the 2 piece dark and fries and the lovebird sauce. It was ready in five minutes. And cost about $14 + tax. The chicken was nicely seasoned the first bite was great! Eating more I realized maybe this had been sitting out and it hadn't retained its juiciness well. The fries felt the same: tasted good but maybe weren't the freshest. The lovebird sauce: their take on a special sauce was a highlight for sure. But the cost of the meal and the actual product left much to be desired. If I am ever in the area I would come back for a sandwich instead... they also had Brussel sprouts which seems rare for a chicken joint but I'd be interested in trying.

Well crafted chicken sandwiches! Took a drive on a Saturday, been wanting to try Lovebird for awhile. First off, the downtown location in Doylestown makes for a great afternoon of shopping-back to the chicken. We opted for fried over the miso marinated, was looking for that crunch and it delivered! My choice was The Lovebird with slaw, Lovebird Special Sauce, pickles, and lettuce. My wife had the Rancher with onion jam, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce. Our side choices were the house slaw and fries. The slaw was good, but the portion for the price was a little disappointing. The fries portion was huge! Fresh cut well fried a heavily salted. The potatoes more than held up to the aggressive seasoning. Next trip we'll definitely get the popcorn chicken. Huge portions were coming out and I wasn't hearing any complaints!

I have been wanting to try lovebird pretty much since they opened but only now actually got to stop in! I'll start by saying there is limited seating and this is a much better "takeout" establishment although you can definitely sit inside! They have a limited menu of chicken pieces and sandwiches a few sides and sauces. I tried "the lovebird" sandwich - figured I'd stick with an original for my first time. It was very tasty, could have been hotter and the bread was great but did fall apart. A heads up as well - although their chicken is gluten free if you get a sandwich it is on a regular roll. The slaw and lovebird special sauce was a great accompaniment to the sandwich which was a big juicy piece of meat (honestly a big too thick if you ask me). My friends food took a lot longer to come out but it was piping hot so therefore I'm thinking his was fresher than mine. All in all it was very good and I'll be back. There Brussels sprouts were to die for and honestly I'd go back just for them!

What a cute little spot off the Main Street in Doylestown. Wish I found it sooner. Very simple menu that's not overwhelming. The chicken was yummy. I liked it paired with the sweet chili sauce which comes on the side. The Brussels to the beet bowl was AMAZING! It had shaved beets & Brussel sprouts over spring mix salad with quinoa & a scallion vinaigrette that was delicious. I added grilled miso garlic tofu but you can also add grilled or fried chicken if you like. Very friendly service! I can't wait to go back again and try something new. I already recommended this place to all my friends in the Doylestown area.

This was a true treat for a kid who never gets to eat gluten free fried chicken! And then add gluten free onion rings?! The chicken was tender and juicy. The customer service was super friendly. We ate in and enjoyed watching the cyclists race by during the arts and music festival! Really enjoyed the entire experience and will return for this. They also have desserts from the Happy Baker which are also gf and yummy.

The chicken here is really good. It is a tad bit pricey but you are getting quality products that are all house made.

String beans, not my favorite vegetable, were delicious -- crisp and very garlicky. The menu says 'almondine' but I don't think they were. The beet puree is a nice aesthetic touch, albeit lacking distinct flavor. T went with the restaurant's spin on pot pie. The filling (roast chicken, carrots, onions, peas, celery and potatoes) was excellent. The pastry topping, somewhat brittle. We chose the Hattery because I had one thing in mind: al fresco dining. There are maybe five tables on the patio out front. The restaurant was formerly a hat factory (no surprise), cigar shop, shoe store and speakeasy during prohibition. It's located on the first floor of the historic Doylestown Inn, which is still in operation. (Note my photo of the lobby.) The Hattery's menu isn't extensive, but I think they cover most bases. It's worth a look if you happen to be downtown. But don't order a margarita if it's some kind of fruit concoction. We both gave it thumbs down.

It was all exciting about trying some very interesting dishes on the pre-fix meal, but unfortunately, it was not the stellar experience that I was hoping for. For starters, our server and "Director of First Impressions", Amber, was cold, aloof, and disconnected. She was just running through her role in a very detached manner. We made no connection with our server and the server is 50% of the experience. She was rushing. No one was there yet to take her time, and we felt that we had no connection with our server whatsoever. She didn't show any passion for the dishes other than sharing what she felt were her favorites. In a restaurant, speak in creative terms about the food, have and show passion for the food you represent. The four of us discussed the menu, and we all aligned and were going to taste around the table. Between the four of us, one tried the Thai pork dish, one the shrimp dish, and two the eggplant Parm dish. In summary, we all felt that they were underwhelming, and they missed their mark on expectation and wow factor. For example, the Thai pork dish that I had was supposed to have a Thai flair to it. If there was any, it was on the lower end of the flavor profile. It was a tiny dollop of some sort of red Thai chilli sauce, but it wasn't enough of a flavor profile to make me say yes, that's Thai-inspired, and frankly, it was lukewarm, yes the meat was tender. My wife and a friend had the eggplant Parm dish and also felt uninspired by their dishes. One was overcooked compared to the other; the two asked for additional sauce to give it some more flavor. Yes, it was a nice evening out, and you get a lot for your money with a multi-course dining experience. One other oddity. During the dessert course, which was a type of bread pudding, we were not offered coffee nor tea. Even it would have been extra, who doesn't offer a hot beverage with dessert, especially in the artic temps we are experiencing this winter. I had nearly an hour drive home, and coffee would have been most appreciated. Oh well. So in summary, I would have expected this to be a five-star review all day long. Unfortunately, it's not even close,e and this is coming from 2 couples opinion.

It has a very "railroadesque" feel right down to the art on the walls and the high ceilings. I believe the building was originally part of the Reading Railroad, that, however, could be an urban legend but sitting in the spacious space, I would like to imagine it's true. We have come here a few times over the past year and really, REALLY,want to like the place (which is why we keep coming back) sadly it is one disappointment after the last. Slow service, cold food, orders wrong, etc. I appreciate that the staff always makes things right when there is an issue, but unfortunately, we've had a pattern of problems. While the effort to fix things is appreciated, it is becoming frustrating and uncomfortable to regularly have to send food back or point out the mistakes. When we go out to eat, we just hope to receive the correct order served hot and enjoy a smooth, relaxing experience. It's tough when the drinks sit empty for a long time especially when we try to get the servers attention and they seem to avoid eye contact I understand things can get busy, but we typically come during lunch hours during the week when the restaurant is quiet so it's disappointing that these issues happen consistently. When the food IS correct, and the proper temperature, it just doesn't meet the quality that we find elsewhere. It's almost as though they feel speed takes priority over precision. They just want it plated, and on the pass as quickly as possible. I've even had a waiter rushing to the table, literally dropping fries on the way. Again, this wasn't during happy hour or game or any busy time. Just a very quiet lunch. You know what they say about crazy... "doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different results" I think I will have to call it quits and accept defeat rather than continue the cycle of insanity. I don't think we will be back to Station.
