I've been going here for the last 5 years, mostly for breakfast. Todays "D-Town skillet" was especially awesome. That with the fresh squeezed orange juice got my day off to fantastic start. I had only been to Cafe with Soul for their fantastic breakfast dishes. Today, a friend and I stopped by for lunch. I ordered the Soul Burger, which was delicious. It is 10 ounces of Angus beef, topped with bacon, fried onions, mushrooms, American cheese, and perfectly cooked steak fries. My buddy ordered a ham and cheese quiche with a side of fruit. As usual, the restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this little gem in Doylestown. read more

Local cafe in Doylestown. I come here when I'm on this side town. Quick service and good food. I had the Bopper which included two eggs, two pancakes, choice of bacon or sausage and potatoes. Unlimited refill on coffee. Steady pace of customers in and out. You should be able to get in under an hour. Nice music in the background. One reason to come is the cafe's unique mission of supporting STEM and music. Bucks County Schools provide a tremendous education so this is a worthy mission. read more

We loved it! Had brunch here on a busy Sunday - my first time here since it was called the Bread Crumb - and wow, what an improvement. Friendly young servers and solid breakfast and lunch options. $2.85 for a cup of coffee, most breakfasts are about $12. I had the Gyro Sandwich with excellent sweet potato fries. It gets crowded on weekends, so try it during the week. And they close at 2/2:30 so come early. Will be back - and soon. read more

Checked out this restaurant for the first time to help support my kids music fundraiser - so glad we did! If it wasn't for that, I may not of gone in. In the shopping center off 611 amongst a Pap John's, seafood store, Chinese restaurant it may easily be overlooked. Immediately walking in I loved the music themed decor, it was very clean and staff was friendly. We ordered off the special menu for the fundraiser but honestly everything looked so good I would of struggled to choose what to eat! Food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back again. Scientist, innovator, philanthropist, Joel operates this simple, yet attractive eatery, as a non-profit to work with the younger people of the community in support of music and STEM education programming and scholarships. For this alone he has my admiration and support; for actually pulling off a well functioning breakfast/lunch haven with good food, he has my loyalty. Now fully vaccinated against Covid, I visited Cafe Soul for my first professionally made Brioche French Toast in over a year. Walking in, the space was open, clean and prepared for social separation. I sat at a booth in back where I could see the entire room. Soon, I was approached by the young man running the front end. He was friendly and deferential. I did the short stack FT, and a mug of their Ellis Coffee brew. The joe was fresh and strong as expected from Philadelphia's oldest caffeine roaster (since 1854). The frenchie was well panned, with plenty of caramelized edges for melted butter and syrup to accumulate. The egg mix tasted of vanilla and cinnamon, just as I like it. But for the Stuckey containers of corn syrup sweetener, it was a strong reintroduction to a favorite and missed morning meal. If real maple syrup had been an option, I would have jumped at the chance for a near perfect indulgence. Otherwise, a wonderful first breakfast out in the world again. read more

Gave this another try after a prior bad review. It was night and day! Maybe we just caught them on a bad day before or maybe they were still working out the rough edges after re-opening post-COVID. Today's visit was sheer perfection! They were run like a well oiled machine. Tables were bused immediately to get waiting diners seated. We were promptly waited on. Me and my fiance just moved to the area and we were excited to try this place, we always passed it and seemed like it was busy most of the time. Walking in I was taken back but the fact that there is no one at the door to greet you or seat you, we just walked in and a waitress pointed to a table. After being seated we waited a couple minutes and what seemed to be a busser got our drinks for us. We then sat there for almost 10 minutes with no service, then finally the waitress comes over, no "how are you guys" "my name is ..." she came over and said "are you ready to order yet" we then ordered of course, we sat and waited, while we waited I put my cup at the edge of the table waiting someone to pass and ask if I need a refill, no one asked, I had to flag someone down. Once we got our food the waitress did not check on us once, didn't ask if everything came out correct, absolutely nothing. she then came over with the check and said "i'll leave this here" didn't ask if we wanted anything else or ANYTHING. was absolutely shocked but the customer service and will not be attending again. read more

Food was delicious, waiter was attentive efficient and pleasant. Banana pancakes with the bananas in them were yummy , my egg perfectly cooked and scrapple also cooked just right. The atmosphere was upbeat I liked learning how profits help STEM programs and the Arts ! It was a very nice experience and there were 6 of us! Hidden Gem! We ended up at this little cafe because the original place we were headed stopped serving Sunday brunch. What a pleasant surprise. Our breakfast was delicious. Love the large mugs of coffee, staff were all very pleasant and the place was packed. The biscuits and gravy tasted buttery and homemade. Special pumpkin waffle was moist inside and crisp outside with yummy pumpkin spice flavor. All the plates passing by looked equally tasty. read more

The egg platters were nicely priced, but the hash town patries were greesy and my husband (who absolutely loves scrapple) did not enjoy how it was cooked at Cafe with Soul. What is up with this restaurant?? It used to be my favorite breakfast place. Lately, the food has not been up to their normal standards. Their waffles are so soft, they fall aprt- inedible. They changed their breakfast sausage links, which are now greasy and bland tasting. They no longer serve their usual bagels. Their bagels now are small and tasteless. They look like the kind you can buy frozen in any supermarket. Had a bagel & lox and if there were 2 little pieces of fish on it, that was a lot. PS...you do NOT serve bagel, cream cheese & lox on a toasted bagel. Everything is supposed to be ice cold, not toasted...YUCK! The breakfast potatoes also had no flavor. Remember, we've been eating here for a few years, so we can taste the difference instantly. Be forewarned, if you order any specials from the blackboard, be prepared to receive a different item than posted. Raspberries become strawberries, everything bagels become plain bagels, sometimes items aren't even included. I've heard, "We ran out that" more than once. If you run out of items, ERASE IT OFF THE BOARD!!! Wondering if this restaurant is under new ownership, because it has changed so much. Consistency people, consistency! read more

I was a sceptic when it changed from Bread crumb to cafe soul but I have quickly been won over. Best breakfast around - the service, quality of food and speed are all 5stars. Especially now during covid, I wake up call and put in three meal requests and it's ready in 20 mins. They also use fresh fruit on pancakes and French toast etc which I find hard to find AND the prices are amazing. read more

Fantastic spot for breakfast in the Doylestown area! Don't let the name fool you. At first, my husband thought it was a soul-food restaurant based on the name alone. Ha! There are not many good spots in D-town for breakfast these days and Cafe with Soul hits the high note. Literally! I understand that COVID has taken its toll on places such as Cafe with Soul. Being a not-for-profit must make it especially hard. My last visit however was inexcusable under any circumstances. Once CWS was my go-to in Doylestown/Cross Keys. The food last visit was inedible, (and I ordered the Special) the service was sub par and indifferent. If they hope to survive post-COVID they need to step up their game. read more

Terrible service. We needed a bit more time to figure out our food orders, and were met with extreme sass and rudeness by the employees. Our server said to us "did you figure it out yet?" in a rude tone when coming back to our table to take our order. When we payed and left, we were chased out of the restaurant and screamed at because one of our payments didn't go through. When we walked back in, it felt like the walk of shame, and the employees were extremely condescending when trying to figure out the problem. The owner, however, is very sweet and pleasant, and I have absolutely no problem with them. My previous experiences here have been very nice, but this time was not it. read more
