Great location. That's about it. Went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon around and 1115. Service was slow and lack luster. They said they were transitioning between breakfast and lunch, but we could order pizza. I ordered a breakfast pizza with prosciutto. After waiting 20 minutes [only one other couple in the restaurant] my pizza cane out without prosciutto. I waited another five minutes for the server to return to check on us. I informed him of my dilemma. He replied "oh" and walked away. I didn't know what that meant. Five minutes later, he returned with a plate of four thin slices of prosciutto. Not the same as being baked with the pizza. I overheard the other customer having an issue with his order. He ordered a cheese burger with NO onions. What came out was a hamburger WITH onions. He informed the server. The server said "oh" and took it away. He came back with a hamburger with no onions. Obviously, all the cook did was remove the onions. The burger was sent back again. The customer was smart enough to ask for a new burger. Bottom line, service is our poor, kitchen staff is poor. They do have a great location and nice bar with an outdoor patio, so if you are only wanting drinks, this is a nice place. Don't order food. Go to Penn Tap Room right next door. Much better food and significantly better service. read more

I have been to a lot of restaurants and I have worked in a lot of restaurants and I have NEVER been talked to or treated the way that I was the other night at Pag's Pub. My family and I came in for Christmas Eve dinner well before their set closing time that evening. We were waited on by one of the bartenders. First thing was that she messed up our 4 cheese pizza and sent it out with meat on it (which is fine, I totally understand messing up an order, it doesn't bother me at all) BUT, when we informed her that we would love the actual 4 cheese pizza we ordered without the meat since 2 of us are vegetarian, she stated that, and I quote, "the guys in the kitchen are gonna kill me" because she had messed up someone else's order at the same time as ours, which didn't surprise me because she seemed like she had been drinking (which again, doesn't bother me as long as someone can hold it together). She was incredibly rude when I reiterated that we would like the meatless pizza we ordered, and said "I TOLD you, you'd get the other pizza you ordered." Well, needless to say, she never brought the 4 cheese pizza. Because of my own extensive restaurant work experience, I tend to be very understanding and cut servers and bartenders breaks all the time, but this woman was beyond the rudest person I've ever encountered. I also rarely write negative reviews because I get that people have bad nights. It's really too bad because we have come to Pag's for years, but this was it for me. read more

My daughter, her boyfriend and myself were looking for a late night meal (9:20 pm) and gave this place a try. The young woman that greeted us informed us that the kitchen would be closing "in like 3 minutes". I told her to let the kitchen know we were there and we'd make up our mind as soon as we looked at the menu. Well, we weren't even seated and the waiter wanted to know what we were having! Considering that the food is in the very back of the menu, I don't think 5 minutes was asking a lot. Once the food came, my daughters pizza and the boys burger were delicious. My quiche on the other hand, was disgusting. I had 3 bites and that was it. I may or may not try them again. read more

We used to love this place. It was one of the few places on Doylestown where we could bring our dog and sit on the deck. Lately however, we have had 2 unpleasant experiences and will not be returning. We were busy one Thursday night and needed to find a late night spot to eat. We called Pags and were told the kitchen closed at Midnight. We arrived at 11 only yo be told kitchen closed at 9:45. The barstaff showed no remorse for the bad info and didn't seem to care that they had inconvenienced us at all. 3 days later we called again to confirm the kitchen would be open until 9:45....and it was. We arrived at 9:15 only to be told kitchen already closed. You have got to be kidding me! We were told they had a few slices left, so we stayed. Everyone in the place appeared to have one foot out the door. Service was not attentive at all and we were made to feel like trespassers. We actually tried talking to a manager and he argued with us and defended his staff. No interest on making things right. Done with this place. read more

I want to commiserate with the other poor reviews on here, because I wish I checked Yelp reviews for Pag's Pub before dining here. We were strolling around Doylestown and came across Pag's Pub. I liked the outdoor seating and the beer list looked great. We were seated right away and promptly explained the beer list. The beers were great. We ordered a few food items to share: a special- "Greek Grilled Cheese", the combo platter and the mussels. The grilled cheese was four skinny grilled slices with three olives- no presentation and no accompaniments. The mussels were baked and breaded and tasted salty and not fresh. The combo platter was inedible- the falafel was over cooked, dried and salty. The hummus was super runny, the babaganoush tasted horrible, the cucumber tomato salad tasted like pickles and lacked tomatoes. The server only checked on us when the food hit, but didn't come back again. We barely ate/touched the combo platter. When the server finally returned, we asked her to remove the barely touched combo plate from our bill. She immediately asked us to explain what was wrong with it and after we explained that it tasted poorly and we were not going to eat it, she took the plate and stormed off saying she would talk to management about it. Then, she came back and said she would remove the platter, but then explained this policy that they will not remove an item from a bill and you have to return it right away. This policy is nowhere written anywhere on the menu. She continued to be aggressive and combative and then told us she would charge us for the pita but remove the platter. Then, she came back with the bill and said, "I've decided not to remove anything because you have been rude and you have to pay the full bill and if you don't I will call the police." We asked to speak to management, owner or anyone in charge to which she replied, "No, they aren't here." Again, she told us she would call the cops if we didn't pay the bill. We proceeded to walk into the restaurant to find someone to talk to. A helpful employee heard us out and removed the item from the bill, which we then paid for the rest of the items that we did eat. This was by far the worst service we have ever received. I have only seen this type of treatment on Kitchen Nightmares. read more

Hard review to write. Want to like but can't. We had the charcuterie plate and it was a bit odd. Felt like we got lunch meat on a plate. The food wasn't bad, but something felt off-guess it was the presentation. Waitress was ok, not horrible but not attentive. It wasn't the "I know they want to be left alone" inattentive service - if that makes sense. Overall the bar has a nice warm feel to it. Like someone else said, TV's are horrible. One is behind a fan - can't see it very well. Both had closed captioning on. Not a big deal, thought it was nice they had it one for someone, but both didn't need to have cc on. Couldn't see the score of the game. Would go back but not overly impressed. read more

Ordered the hamburger with the "special" sauce on the side, but when it came out, I discovered the sauce on the burger. I tried it by taking a bite and advised the waitress of the mistake and how I didn't like the sauce. She apologized and said she would get started on a new burger for me. About five minutes later, my "new" hamburger was placed it front of me. The first thing I noticed was the half eaten pickle on my plate and the reduced amount of potato chips. I realized that they brought out the same plate instead of starting over. To make things worse, the bun was new, but they gave me back the same burger with the bite out of it and only scrapped off the sauce. Cannot believe a place that I paid $130 for lunch for four people would do such a thing. Complained and all I got was a "new" hamburger. Very disappointing and god forbid your food has a hair in it, and how this restaurant will handle that. read more

We had a very nice lunch here yesterday. My wife and I shared a Garden Pizza and a Mediterranean sampler (Falafel, baba ghanouj, stuffed vine leaves, hummus, cucumber salad, and something else whose name I've forgotten.) It was quite delicious. I can't say that the Mediterranean dish had authentic flavors as per the custom of the region of origin, BUT, I do know that my meal was very, very good, and that so long as the establishment is not mangling a very specific named recipe, such as Veal Oscar, for example, no harm has been done. Restaurants should be permitted to take liberties with common items and add their own flavors and style. I would truly give the restaurant four stars, because the way we were greeted and seated was a little dopey and the dining room's temperature was uncomfortably warm, but I want to compensate for another reviewer's one-star rating based on apparent non-authenticity of the Mediterranean flavors. I don't believe that ratings so low, which can hurt a restaurant's business, should be given just because the patron doesn't know much about food (falafel, hummus, and stuffed vine leaves to name just a few things have many recipe variations) and thus didn't get what they *expected*. Sorry for preaching - I just hate it when spoiled people take it out on good restauranteurs. read more

This is a place where they give you a lot of bread and have the big containers of olive oil on your table. They have really good cheese and I recommend the escargot. It was amazing. It also comes without the shell. There pizza was perfect. I recommend this place for vegetarians. But personally I think they need more meets on the menu. read more

We stumbled upon this place when going to the Saturday farmers market. We ended up going in for breakfast. While the menu was pretty limited it was all excellent. I had a phenomenal Canadian bacon, mushroom, and gorgonzola omelette. Hubby had wonderful quiche and child had pancakes with chocolate chips and bananas. They made me a mocha cappuccino and hubby said the coffee was great. We had a side of Canadian bacon and a croissant. We also had two mimosas. Everything was great. The only downside was it's extremely expensive for breakfast. It was $72 before tip. I might've expected this from a high end restaurant but not a bar for breakfast. There is also no prices posted for anything so be warned. Menu is on a chalkboard as it must change daily but silent to pricing which really isn't customer friendly and a bit sneaky. It won't be our go to place bc of pricing but the food was very good (as it should be for that price). read more

What a special treat Pags Cafe is. The food is meticulously prepared and very consistent with lots of fresh ingredients as well as interesting items from Italy and tunsia to name a few. I love the Mediterranean flare of cucumber salad, chicken kabob, Mediterranean sampler platter and falafel. My kids have always loved the pizzas for their thin crust and fresh creative ingredients. I love the atmosphere. It is small and cozy. A great place for just us as a couple or a group of friends knowing we will be able to hear each other. This is a little known gem in dtown. read more

I agree with the many "rude staff"comments. We often Bar-hop through the Boro and decided to stop in Pag's last night. It was a busy Saturday. We walked in with 7 people. There were no seats and we were prepared to stand. I approached the bar to order a round and was immediately greeted by a bartender who didn't say hello or have a smile. She merely informed me she would take our order but it had to be one check. Now, this was my intention as I planned to buy the round. But don't tell ME this. I'm your customer. Everyone in my party heard the rude comment. So we told her it was obvious they did not want our business. We left. The new bar is very nice. The drink selection is outstanding. However don't get the food. It tastes OK but is micro in size. The hamburger seems like it is a pressed down meatball. Only adequate for a small child. They give you a few potato chips and some cut up lettuce to go with it. No French fries.
