We all enjoyed our dinners which included Penne Taormina, Shrimp Scampi with red sauce and chicken parm. All the meals were delicious and well prepared. We appreciated that they were able to prepare a smaller version of the chicken parm for our young daughter for a reduced price. The bread served with the meal was warm, fresh and tasty. The tiramisu was terrific. Our server was very pleasant, helpful, and made good recommendations. As for the change from BYOB, I understand the business reasons for doing it, but out of respect for customers the wine list should include wine by the glass options in the $7~$9 price range. $11 as the least expensive option is a bit extreme. Also, the $25 price point for spaghetti and meatballs is a little much and deterred from ordering it. All things considered we enjoyed Taormina's and will return. read more

We had a bad experience at Taormina's tonight. The best things about the dinner were the bread and the complimentary peppers and onions they give you. The calamari appetizer looked anemic. It looked like it cane straight out of a box frozen, that you buy at the supermarket, and then leave in the freezer too long. It was rubbery to the point of being slightly crunchy and had no taste. They should be ashamed to serve this. Awful! My cavatelli and broccoli was edible because it had a garlicky sauce but the shrimp were undercooked so I didn't eat them. They were actually translucent. The rigatoni with vodka sauce was decent. Instead of the prosciutto being fresh in thin slices, it was hard, old tasting, little chunks. Yuck! The service was terrible too. We waited for the server to come back after our meals were delivered and he never did. I had to flag down the hostess to ask if they had coke. They had it only in bottles and I wanted a fountain soda. We asked for the check and were kept waiting for that. Then the waiter finally came back to the table and asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. I told him no we had already asked for the check. It wasn't even that busy in the restaurant. No salads come with the meals. We drank water. One terrible appetizer and two very mediocre dinners cost us $67! Low quality and high prices at this place now. It's gone way downhill. I have been ordering food from Taormina's 4-6 times a week for a long time. Sometimes more. The food is great and it's one of my favorite spots. My Mom's bday party was there as well. They've always been very nice to me and my family in person. But most times, I order from one of the food delivery apps. They use their own drivers and the drivers are usually very fast. The few times I had a problem with delivery via the apps and had to call the restaurant to inquire, the managers or owners that I spoke with (2 different males) were super aggressive, dismissive, and otherwise, totally apathetic. The first time it happened, I told the manager/owner how frequently I order, how they know me and my family, and how often we come in to eat. Their whole tune changed. They gave me a $10 gift card and profusely apologized about the mistake. Not a big deal. But then it happened again today. I'm not bothering to explain all of that to them again for a $10 gift card. I never wanted anything for free - I just wanted the food delivered, as promised. For as much as I love their food, I can find another spot with people who don't think it's okay to speak to anyone - not only good customers, the way they do to people on the phone that they think they don't know, at Taormina's. read more

We visited Taorminas Pizza last night with 4 other friends. This is a BYOB. Crowded for a Tuesday night. A bit noisy in the dining area. We had a variety of dishes from traditional spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parm, and chicken alfredo. Our meals were good. Plenty to eat. Took home some of the meals, there was that much. Called to pick up 2 slices for lunch. Was told 5 minutes. I get there and pay and the employee that took my order on the phone finally tells the cooks, "oh hey I need 2 slices" ... 12 minutes later I get my 2 slices. The employee said she was sorry because they had to make a new pie. Maybe next time you say that over the phone or when I pay. Also, it probably shouldn't look like this when you pick it up. Taormina's is in a small commercial center on Jacksonville Road, Ivyland, PA. It is a nicely appointed Italian house whose name as a pizza and pasta joint is somewhat misleading. It certainly has those items on the menu, but do yourself a favor and check out the dinner plates. We were very pleased with our meals, as well as the attractive atmosphere. Very glad we brought a bottle of vino to celebrate Valentine's Day, even if a day late. Romantic dinners are very much available. We ordered Veal Francaise and Eggplant Parmigiana, both of which were plated on top of a good amount of penne. The veal had a wonderful white wine/lemon sauce that was excellent on the pasta. The Eggplant was a large portion of pan fried thin sliced nightshade, ovened under copious melted mozzarella and resting under rich red gravy and atop plenty of penne. We loved both dishes. Service was attentive and came with a smile. If there was a shortcoming in this overall delicious experience, it was the Calamari Friti appetizer. They were all large rings of squid, without any tentacles to add texture and more flavor. Somewhat disappointing. Still, with the decent bread and plate of roasted red peppers provided gratis by the house, not to mention the mellowness from our own red vino, Taormina's was a great place for a date. read more

Ordered Grubhub because we normally eat in and get pasta dishes, which are great by the way. We got a plain pizza, fries, mozzarella sticks and garden salad with grilled chicken. Instead of getting a $1.50 hot dog and soda combo from the mega giant retailer's food court, head down the road to experience a fantastic Italian restaurant with great food and service. When you first walk in it looks like you're at a higher end pizza shop until the curtain is pulled back to unveil a beautiful dining area. One of the best parts was the complimentary fresh baked bread and roasted red peppers and onions for the table. Yum!!! I have eaten here many times and the price has hugely increased, crazy! I ordered vodka penne which was ($17.75) and I wanted the lobster ravioli which was ($28.50) there was definitely not lobster or lack there of for that price. I have eaten here a number of times, but after my experience New Year's Eve, I will NEVER return again ! We had to wait 30 minutes because the group before us would not get up from the table. Once we were finally seated, we were rushed through our dinner. My salad plate was taken before I finished it. Our meals were handed to us and not even put down on the table. Some of our platters were not hot. Take out containers were handed to us before some of us were finished eating. Our waitress asked if we wanted anything else. When we asked what there was, she asked if we wanted to see the dessert tray. A few of us ordered. Some asked for coffee or tea. It was not offered. We were never asked if we wanted more. The check was handed to us. The entire meal, starr to finish, was about 50 minutes. We felt rushed through each course. We certainly were not offered the same enjoyable, relaxing meal that the group before us had !! After this experience, it is doubtful we will return, and Taormina has lost some good customers. read more

my wife & I stopped into your restaurant in ivy land . we were seated promptly, waitress was pleasant. i was in the mood for a sandwich & fries real simple & my wife an entree. I asked our waitress is there a separate menu for sandwiches & such? waitress returns with a paper menu. I search for what I wanted and placed an order for a Turkey & cheese hoagie & fries. not 4 minutes later she returns to the table to inform us that would it be okay to switch my sandwich ( now here is where it gets interesting) the manager said that the turkey was brand new and because the business was closing for the week that could I be kind and pick something else. I was sympathetic and agreed so I got an Italian hoagie instead to accommodate them so they don't have to open a fresh turkey and it sit for a week. now the food was good . and the bill comes and I automatically give my card to pay the bill trusting that the waitress handled the correction on my bill from turkey & cheese to Italian hoagie. nope I was wrong I finally look over the bill and I noticed the difference in pricing not only on my sandwich but the Fries as well. in the menu Italian hoagie 10.50 on the bill Turkey & cheese still remained on bill for 12.50 & fries on menu were 4.95 on the bill 6.00 that's a difference of 3.05 over charge. so I call over waitress to ask her when closed out our check did you check to see if you adjusted for the sandwich price. she said no. I explained there was a difference in price from menu to bill. a manager finally showed up and tried to explain to me that the prices for eating in the dining room . I looked at the manager and said please show that to me. she then proceeded to look at the paper menu quickly look and said, all the while smiling like to embarrass myself and she while walking away I asked her why are you trying to embarrass me & my wife . you finally decided to the say I have told them I'm guessing Taraminos that pricing is different if your ordering off the paper menu and in reality it's not in writing on that menu. so she voided out my previous paid bill & made the proper corrections. lesson to learn here alway double check your bill before paying. if $50+dollars in food ordered is not sufficient for one of the guest that just isn't in the mood for an entree and is penalized & up charged for eating a sandwich & fries while the other guests orders a $33 dollar entree, well then you should be ashamed of yourselves. I'm not sure if this is truly your policy but you should seriously consider not upcharging for eating a sandwich & fries in the dining room. read more

Fresh bread with a small plate of roasted red peppers/onions was brought to the table as we reviewed the menu. We both went with the Cavatelli pasta (the Gaetano and the Mare Emonte). One had broccoli rabe and sausage, the other clams and calamari) Both were not only delicious but gigantic! With 2 side-Caesar salads the bill came to around $40 before tip. Nice seating area & friendly staff but don't get the veal. Got it twice and both times I regretted it as it was extremely chewy & fatty and for $28 with no extras sides or salads (except for the pasta that came with the veal) it's way overpriced. I Got the veal Marsala one time and the veal parm the next time. They also charge you an extra fee for using a credit card and then ask you (not mandatory) to pay cash for the tip which I feel is a bit tacky. Just my opinion. read more

Let me start by saying food was incredible as usual. This negative review is about the service. We order takeout regularly from here and will continue to do so BUT we will never dine in again. This was the first time we dined in and our waitress was HORRIBLE!! We arrived and had our 3 year old son with us. We waited over an hour for our entrees and had to have them packed up to go since the kid lost his ability to sit still. The waitress was not attentive and my wife had to flag down another waitress for help while I took my son to the car. This waitress lacked the ability to read the room, move quickly, and communicate. I watched the other female server and male server crushing it but this waitress either needs a lot of training or needs a different job. If I was leaving the tip it would have reflected the horrible service. read more
