Very impressed with their food. Chorizo egg roll with chicken in it was fiery and delish. Beef Brisket with Alabama BBQ White Sauce was exceptional on a brioche bun. I had a bite of the monster chicken tenders, which were very good, however buyer beware they are a bit on the spicy side. The tenders came with waffle fries that are always a good bar food accompaniment. I also had a bite of their house made falafel wrap. It was very good, we did not get the one that comes with a bit of heat in the form of Harissa Paste, however I would be up to possible try it another time with the Harissa addtition. They have an extensive beer list as well and I ended up getting a 16oz for $5 bucks after receiving $2 off as it was happy hour 4pm-6-pm Tuesday through Thursday. The beer was good, no complaints. They also have some very interesting looking desserts however I did not have any room left to indulge. I would definitely come back and recommend you try some of their food items. Love this spot! We went two weeks in a row for trivia Wednesdays, and they have one of the best trivia games of any bar. It's like 7 rounds including a picture round and a music round which can vary from fairly easy to extremely hard. The service is good, the people are friendly, and the food is good. It's definitely one of my favorite spots in Ambler. read more

It's steps away from two other good breweries and dozens of attractions on the Ambler strip. Service has been fun in the past, but about two years ago they hire this big boobie airhead to apparently be the main server at the bar. Never smiles. Barely looks up. Never serves you right away, just playing with glasses, equipment or her phone. A few months ago we literally told her we were in a hurry and had tickets for a movie across the street. She served us and then went into the back room for about 10-15 minutes. Couldn't believe it. If you're sitting at the bar you need to call down to her or ask a busboy to get her because she simply doesn't give AF. Been to hundreds of breweries. She's gotta be bottom 3 servers I've ever had. I'm not always asking for a full fledged conversation but with her you get absolutely nothing...unless you're a co-worker, then she can't seem to shut up. If this was just a one time thing, I wouldn't be posting. But my friends and I have had her at least 5 times now. I went in yesterday for a quick beer before another movie. Waited the usual 2 minutes despite me being the only person there (sigh) and then waited another 2 minutes while she continued to make mixed drinks (AYFKM?). The beer was $5.50, I gave her $7...no thank you, not even any eye contact, she just walked away. My one friend has already vowed to not go back, and after yesterday, I'm done too. With the other two better breweries so close, it's not worth her attitude. I wish I knew her name, all I know is dark hair, cleavage, goth looking outfits each time. read more

I had off on Friday so my boyfriend and I stopped in for a beer and some lunch. I'll start off with saying that I liked the feel of the brewery instantly. The bartender was great! He addressed us as "friends" a few times and it was really nice and personable! We ordered beers first then food. I started with the A Moonless Midnight stout. It was WONDERFUL!! Then I tried the shandy. Also very good!! We decided to get the fig and prosciutto flat bread and the Street corn flatbread. Both were very good! Visited on a Wednesday night while in the area. Parking on the main street wasn't a problem...with spots available within a block or two distance. I believe is it free after 6pm...so no need to pay after that time. Place was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday night...there was a Phillies game on and trivia that night so it may have drawn the crowd. Despite the crowd, I was immediately able to get a counter-height table. (Standard tables/booths, counter-height tables and bar seating available throughout the space) Great environment and decor. Love the wood-theme throughout the space. Very neat and well-maintained. A great variety of beer an food options. Various types of beer available. Definitely some interesting and delicious-sounding food creations. I had the chicken, bacon ranch flatbread which was really good. Definitely got the impression that they were very local freindly. Lots of familiar faces around that night evident by the conversations and interactions between staff and the patrons. Prices were fair for a place like this...I love that they offer a variety of beer sizes to choose from. It's good way to pace yourself with the stronger beer options. All staff were friendly and efficient. Overall a good experience...would love to return to try out some other beer and food options. read more

They are inconsistent. The staff are okay. Place is a little loud and a lot of wood. Menu is nice and varied. The food is iffy. Sometimes the brisket is good, sometimes, like tonight, it had hunks of fat in it. Not the good tasty fat that is necessary, literally large boluses of nauseating mushy fat. And it was greasy. The schnitzel is also hit or miss. The homemade chips are wicked thick and crunchy. We do not care for them. Mac n cheese very good. Chicken sandwich big and okay. The drinks/beers were good. Next visit to Ambler we'll try a different place. read more

I've been to Tannery Run twice-both for events. The first event I attended I was so impressed by the service and food I decided to book my birthday party with them. It was an awesome experience from start to finish. Tim helped coordinate everything and was so patient to answer all my questions and was very responsive via email. The day of the party, everything went smoothly. The food was such a hit-all the flatbreads are great (especially the street corn and bbq pork ones), the chicken fingers are more like ginormous fried chicken pieces, and the hummus/veggies are fresh and delish. We had a few kids in attendance and one of them said "this is the best restaurant party I've ever been to"-high praise indeed. The drinks are very yummy-the cocktails are fresh and come in a great variety and the beer is topnotch. A few people who attended the birthday left with cases of beer and everyone remarked on how great the food was. We all agreed we must return soon. Highly recommend booking an event with Tannery Run or just stopping by to check them out! read more

The food and drinks were good but the service offset that- hence 3 stars. Our server was sweet but often MIA. It was a slow weekend afternoon, so not like she had many tables. Another waiter delivered 3 drinks at once and he spilled them all over the table. I asked if he could get a bar rag to clean up what would be a sticky mess. He threw napkins on the table and left- leaving me to clean up his mess. Then delivered a beer we didn't order and when we said as much, he argued it was ours. If you have been sitting on a visit to Tannery Run in Ambler, STAND UP. I just finished their Sozin's Comet-Fire Book SPLATCH lager and am now working on the Solely Cider. They're both amazing. I'm a huge lager fan and this one had a depth to it that I haven't found in another lager. The cider is apple-forward, but not too sweet. Just a beautiful, crisp apple flavor. PLUS--and this was completely unnecessary to mention for the beer lovers, but also *wholly* important to my experience here--they have the BEST fried chicken sandwich I've had in a LONG time. I like this location, it's a cute little spot in downtown Ambler. They had some diverse stuff on tap, and most of the names are dragon themed which is an interesting concept. Tannery Run is the newest edition to the growing bar / restaurant scene in downtown Ambler. Named after the creek that runs under the majority of Ambler Tannery Run is a great addition to Ambler. Its the 2nd brewery to open up in town after the pioneer Forest and Main. Tannery is located at the upper end of Butler Ave between Vida and Comida and Deterra. As you walk in a large bar lines the left side wall and a large open seating area occupies the right side of the building. A glass wall encloses some of their brewing equipment just past the end of the bar. The decor has a modern industrial feel with mostly darker shades. I'm a woodworker so I really appreciated the pyrography on the wooden bar top. Pyrography is basically burning designs into wood. My friend and I had stopped in to grab lunch and a few beers. We had one of their IPA's and Belgian Triple. Both beers were very good and the Belgian, which is my favorite style was fantastic! The vibe at Tannery Run is very chill and laid back. Its a great spot to grab a few beers and hang out with friends. As I wrote earlier we really stopped in to grab lunch. Personally I feel the menu seems a bit out of touch for a brewery. There were some vegan options, flat breads, chili, tacos etc.. Gina Cavalier is a well traveled Chef and worked at the French Laundry so I'm sure the menu items were good but they didn't appeal to either of us. If we wanted tacos we would have grabbed them for $2.75 at El Limon and with the numerous pizza spots in Ambler flat breads are nothing unique. This menu reminds me of something I would see in a main line coffee shop not a brewery in a Ambler. We opted to walk next door to the Lucky Well to have a burger and fries. I will definitely be back to try more beers because I really enjoyed them. I gave Tannery 3 stars ( A ok) because its a cool spot. For me 4 or 5 stars are reserved for businesses that are doing everything way above average and don't have much room for improvement. read more

A great addition to Ambler!! We have hung out here a few times and tried a variety of their beers and their rotating cider! The food is awesome - especially the pretzel with beer cheese and flatbreads. We just ordered a special for takeout including a growler of Celestial, sticky Asian flavor wings, and a French dip sandwich. SO DELICIOUS. Phenomenal beer. If you're like me that's all you need to hear and you've already bookmarked this place. But this is Yelp so floury terms and practical suggestions to follow. Tannery Run is a friendly and creative small town business serving up top notch beer. My personal favorite is Blue Dragon. The owner/brewer is a beer guy tried and true. He's been making beer for a long time as well as winning brew contests and even being selected to judge them. This guy knows what he's doing. If beer is not your thing there is a great selection of local wines as well. They have a tempting menu but due to timing I've only ever tried the Rogue Chili. It was appetizing and I would definitely get it again. The tavern has a great flow with a lot of open space and relaxing decor. In warm weather the garage bay door is wide open and makes for great night. Every time I've been here the crowd has been laid back and friendly. Twice I saw seats at the bar open up and guys standing by offered them up to others rather then immediately snatch them. They have live music occasionally, check the website for bands and other events. There is a ping pong table by the front and rumor has it the owner accepts challenges on Wednesday nights. Great new place with lots of choices of beer and wine ! I was just there for their grand opening and had the opportunity to try some of their beer. It was really great and I like the open , casual atmosphere. I had the opportunity to try a few of their flat breads , really great and I predict this will be their main food item. I had the pork tacos and the shrimp tacos. The pork belly tacos we're favored over the shrimp. The shrimp were small bay shrimp and they were just ok but I wouldn't ever order it again.One of my table mates had the chili and seemed to not really care for it too much. Others had salads that looked decent but definitely wouldn't fill me up! The salad was also $12.00 which is way overpriced, there isn't even any protein in them?Anyone of the flat breads would be my recommendation and I am sure when they get up and running their menu options will increase and improve. It looks like sliders or flatbread will be your go too items if you are here.They had an appetizer listed as " French Onion Mousse" with prosciutto chips & Brussel sprout.... nobody would order it but it sounded interesting. My coworkers and I decided to hangout to see each other face to face. Our company is all remote post pandemic. Anyway, we decided their Wednesday trivia night could be a good time. Apparently they have a loyal trivia night crowd. The place is casual, exposed brick, long wooden bar, definitely has that brew pub vibe, moreso than many of them these days. Table spacing is good and staff friendly without going overboard about it. I tried three different brews, a lager, a wheat beer, and a pilsner, which were enjoyable. I enjoyed the wheat brew the most, but wheat is my second favorite style in general, especially if having more than a pint. So as not to be misleading, the beer was better than average, but not the best ever. Coworkers enjoyed their flatbreads and hummus platter. I had the Brisket "Sammie," and that was very nice indeed. I'm ready to order it again when we do this again next month. After 6pm, the almost adjacent parking lot is open and free. Before 6 you'll have to find street parking, as the lot is reserved for the nearby office building. read more

I was so excited to try this restaurant but unfortunately the bartender ruined my experience. Visiting Ambler, I had looked up locations to eat at prior to coming and this was top of my list to try. The food looked amazing but the bartender was so rude I decided to leave quickly after arriving. He refused to make a drink FROM THE MENU and told me I did not want that cocktail. He insisted I have a drink HE wanted to make. The bartender (with the gauges) was so aggressive it was hard to justify staying. We still tipped 20% because I know the service industry is hard and I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt AND I think a communications training would be well applied. read more
