One Way IPA - Hazy NE IPA - Single hop series featuring Vista Hops - a great way to start the meal!
Josh S.

I found out about The Ways by trying their beer at a festival a while back. I was a fan of it immediately. It took me some time but I finally made it to the restaurant to give the food a shot. I stopped in for lunch and was greeted by Mike at the bar very quickly. Apparently people in the area don't like to drink in the early afternoon as the bar was empty, but, who cares...more for me! I ordered a One Way IPA, it's a hazy IPA and is very good. I checked over the menu and unfortunately a few of the items I wanted they were out of. No worries, I opted for the Fried Cauliflower and Brisket Mac & Cheese. They both came out fairly quickly (as did my subsequent beers) and looked great. I gave my cauliflower a taste and was impressed, it was crispy and salty. It seems like they were breaded in panko but I could be wrong. They come served with an Ancho chili sauce that I looking forward to but it was a truly disappointing. It was grainy and hard to dip the cauliflower into...I went without after a few failed attempts. But honestly the cauliflower was so good it was great without! The mac and cheese looked great as well, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a decent amount of brisket mixed in. I didn't realize going to this restaurant that smoked meats was their thing, but it seems to be. I'm not sure how the brisket is on its own but it was a perfect fit in the macaroni. My only gripe with the dish is the sauce was a bit runny and didn't cling to the noodles as much as I would expect. But it was still good nonetheless. I almost forgot, the entire reason I wanted to come here...the beer. I tried a few different of their brews and each one was exactly as described in the menu. They taste great! So many times I'm let down when I try a local beer, it's either lacking body, flavor, alcohol or just tastes a bit off. That is not the case here. Check them out, drink several beers (be responsible if driving) and try the food, you will enjoy it all!

The food was dry and overcooked. The nacho beer cheese had separated and had too much flour, the pork shoulder on the nachos was dried out. The brisket tacos were dry and flavorless. The mac and cheese suffered from the same issue the nachos did. We didn't eat the tacos or Mac and cheese. Our waitress didn't check on us after taking our order. We had to ask the hostess for things we needed and the check. The bathroom was had comic art.

Sweet Caroline plays in the background. My body is swaying as my belly sings mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmmm, right on cue. Pastrami special I can't quit you. Seriously, you are so damn delish and I seem to stroll in Everytime it's on special!!! Not complaining because you, Pastrami made in house with a 6 week labor of love, you love are a a work of tasty art!!! So, yeah, until you are off the menu, I'll be chomping on your fine nomnomnom. Ps, that sour ale tho!!! I'm food high, possibly food crunk. I will report back on that flight after some more "market research" oh so delish. Sleepy time now.

Stopped by again a year later after my first visit. I come to town at least once a year for softball tournaments in Pennsbury. This time was during lunch and was able to get the Beet Salad. They have limited quantities due to the availability of beets. I'm glad I came during lunch cause I got the last one! This was very good to pair with the G-Side Sour! Nice place with a good size inside bar. Wait staff is very good and attentive. Has an outside patio with bar on evenings. There is not much parking, I guess that is the one downside. Street parking with a little walk at most.

Let me start out by saying our server was SPECTACULAR. Ricki was so sweet and attentive that I would go back to the ways restaurant just for her. If you go you should 100% ask for Ricki. There were three of us and we started out with beer flights, $10 gets you 4 4oz pours. The beers the ways makes are delicious the only one none of us at the table liked was the blueberry sour. After beers we ordered pulled pork nachos, brisket tacos, and pulled pork sandwich with fries. The food was good not great. Nothing to really write home about but nothing that was terrible either. The brisket for the tacos was a bit greasy for a dry brisket and the pork sandwich could have used something crunchy for texture but overall it was a good meal.

Fun spot with a cool indoor ambiance, as well as a beautiful outdoor patio to sit. This spot brews their own beers so it has the brewery vibes and all of their dips/dressings are homemade, which is a nice touch as well. We had the fried cauliflower (delish and fried to perfection), as well as a chicken Caesar salad which was great with the homemade dressing. We tried the smashed potatoes as well which we could have done without (not really what we expected and a bit boring!). Overall, such a nice spot to try, hang out and have a flight. The staff was friendly and welcoming!

The ways is quite far from where we typically travel for food. We got a gift card to this place from our friend and we are so happy we did. The food is delicious. I really love the breaded cauliflower, and I really enjoy my Mac n cheese. On top of that, the service is awesome as well. If we are close by that area next time, we will definitely stop by to get lunch and maybe some drinks. They also got outdoor seating, so maybe we will come back in the summer to enjoy some beer and good food.

Cool brewery and restaurant in Glenside

What a cool and top-notch addition to the eating and drinking scene in the town of Glenside in nearby Montgomery County. The Ways is a tucked away eatery on the main street (with several free parking spots) that is def worth discovering. The funny name (at least to me it is ... comes from the family name of the owners which is Way.) I twas sure it must have some greater significance. Anyway this brew pub has both the food and beer down. My favorite beer here is - you guessed it - their superb Vienna Lager. This red beer has excellent balance, great flavor, strong consistency, and goes down easily. It would be drunk in Vienna. Try it! Now the food also came through. The fried chickpea & scallion fritters accompanied by a tomato curry sauce are totally awesome. They must be ordered. Management just needs to provide more tomato curry dipping sauce as there is not enough for three fritters. The corn flake & buttermilk; breaded chicken tenders were also excellent . They were moist, flavorful, and came with a generous order of French Frees. This is one of the better pub chicken dishes I have had of late in the USA. Service is friendly and efficient. I liked the outside seating area during the Covid-19 pandemic but there is also socially distanced indoor seating. The only thing I wasn't sure of is that you have to scan the menu into your phone to access it and it looks like you have to register to do this. I will not register or give out info to a website to access a paperless restaurant menu so I just asked for a paper one which I easily received. The Ways Restaurant and Brewery is def a winning establishment if you live or find yourself in the vicinity of Northwest Philly or Eastern Montgomery County. Really, what are you waiting for?!?

Brisket sandwich is superb! I'm not a beer drinker so can't comment on that but the gin and tonic there is really good.

Best local brewery. Very creative beers. Would put them up against any national big brewery any day. Great food.

How is the parking? Do they have their own lot?

They have a very small parking lot. Maybe they can fit 10-12 cars.

There was a good variety of beers for us both - he loves IPAs but I prefer fruity, sour, or wheat beers.

Very impressed with their food…read more Chorizo egg roll with chicken in it was fiery and delish. Beef Brisket with Alabama BBQ White Sauce was exceptional on a brioche bun. I had a bite of the monster chicken tenders, which were very good, however buyer beware they are a bit on the spicy side. The tenders came with waffle fries that are always a good bar food accompaniment. I also had a bite of their house made falafel wrap. It was very good, we did not get the one that comes with a bit of heat in the form of Harissa Paste, however I would be up to possible try it another time with the Harissa addtition. They have an extensive beer list as well and I ended up getting a 16oz for $5 bucks after receiving $2 off as it was happy hour 4pm-6-pm Tuesday through Thursday. The beer was good, no complaints. They also have some very interesting looking desserts however I did not have any room left to indulge. I would definitely come back and recommend you try some of their food items.
