Beer menu, October 2025

We happened to be visiting the area and did a search for Thursday night trivia, which brought us here. The trivia was great fun and the beer was amazing. Highly recommend both!

Trivia night

Really enjoyed myself at trivia night on Thursdays. While trying to dig deep into my superficial understanding of beer brewing (one of the themed rounds for trivia that night), I had a chance to enjoy some delicious brews; one... ~trying to recall~... was a pert peanut butter stout and the other was a full, rich, chocolate stout---the exact names escape me now but I believe they were both brewed on-site! The Shirley Temple I also ordered came with three maraschinos, and when that happens you know you're gonna have a good night :) Unfortunately, my lack of beer knowledge put our team behind from Round 1, and even knowing who wrote the theme music to Back to the Future wasn't enough to get us back in the game. Still, I walked out of WCA feeling like a winner, knowing I had some good drinks, attentive service, and a thoroughly humbling trivia experience. You know I'll be back and looking to place next time!

Well Crafted Beer Company is a brewery out of Lansdale that recently bought out Ambler Beer Company and took over their location. If you had previously been to ABC you could probably walk into the "new" business without even noticing a change, minus a sign or two. A few of the old employees stayed for the new ownership. They of course switched the beer menu with their own, and they are about the same level as ABC's beers were. Like their predecessor, they have food trucks on rotational basis. Its a cool place overall, I will give it a 4 star for now, but I could come back later and switch to 5 after they are fully up and running. Hopefully they will balance out the IPA heavy menu with some stouts and Belgians, but that's just my personal preference.

While we were there, a woman walked in and loudly commented that having my baby in a bar was "irresponsible" and that, since she was a nanny, she couldn't believe it. My husband said something to her, and the manager (I'm so sorry, I wasn't 100% sure if his name was Craig or Greg!) immediately stepped in. He called her out and made it clear that they love and appreciate all of their customers. He completely stood up for us, and we truly appreciated it. Everyone else in the bar was incredibly supportive and completely fine with us being there. Since when are parents not allowed to enjoy a drink? She eventually left, and honestly, the way the staff handled everything was amazing. This place gets 10 stars from us, and we will absolutely continue coming here with our kids. And when our baby is old enough, he'll be enjoying one of the chocolate milks or apple juices they serve for kids! Thank you guys for being the absolute coolest. We can't wait to come back!

I am not disqualifying their experience but it is very odd it was so different. It was a hot, humid, rainy Saturday and the A/C was just fine when we got in. I will admit my first view through the door was a little hesitant but push on in and it was fine. The design goes for a comfy industrial setting. They have a good selection of beer and cocktails using a lot of local producers so there is a wonderful chance for you to find what you want to drink. The prices on the menu looked a little steep but the servings were generous and the food was very good. I had the best wings I've had in a long time with a nice crispness to the skin. My wife and I had a good time and found it lots of fun. If I was going to suggest a change it would be some sort of uniform for the servers. Hypsters in comfortable clothing fine but the issue is they blend in with some of the customers. I was talking to one guy thinking he was a server. It's one thing to be comfortable but professionally you need to stand out from the customers. but otherwise, this was a great time.

She poured us warm water (seriously!) and took our drink orders. We waited another 15 minutes for 3 of the worst mixed drinks. Turns out they had 2 novice bartenders working that didn't know what they were doing. (From our server's mouth!) We paid our tab and left for much better establishments down the street.

Parking can be tight on the street, but there are municipal lots nearby that make things easy. They usually have around ten beers on tap, a solid mix of styles that changes often enough to keep things interesting. There are a few TVs, and during slower weekday hours they keep things cozy by only opening the bar area. On weekends, when the place fills up, they expand seating into the section by their brewing area. If you're just grabbing beer to go, they sell four-packs of their own brews. For food, you can either take your beer into the market's food court or bring your meal back into the brewery. Both setups work fine depending on what kind of night you're after. If you are not a beer person, fortunately there are Stateside seltzers, and Surfside hard iced teas available. A relaxed local spot with good beer, friendly people, and a nice addition to Ambler's growing brewery scene.

But when we finally had the opportunity to get a reservation at Mary, I felt compelled to write one. It didn't just "not disappoint", it exceeded every expectation we hoped to have. We sat at the bar, which gave a cool bar vibe with our own bottle of wine (which you don't always get at BYOs), and we had a clear view into the open kitchen. Plus, the service was perfectly on point throughout the entire meal. We started with the ceviche, which was a very generous portion for us to share, and absolutely delicious. I was planning to order the burger, but when the waitress told us it was always on the menu, I opted for the blackened swordfish... and, boy, was I glad I did. My husband got the pork chop; I snagged a bite and it was amazing, too. Both entrees were also very generous portions, and my leftovers were just as good the next day (maybe even a little better once the flavors blended together). We finished with a brownie dessert, and when we finally got the check, we were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it was. Overall, it was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time, and I can't wait to go back and get that burger!!

It was fun to sit outside for a bit until it got chilly, then we moved indoors and sat around the table there. Service is at the bar, as expected, and they have some pretty good brews of their own, with plenty of variety. It sometimes seems that craft brews almost exclusively emphasize IPAs, and that's not necessarily my favorite kind, so it was good to have other options on tap. I had their Kolsch and then a Coconut Stout, and both of them were pretty tasty. I'd be back to hang with friends again!

There's a good amount of seating, including two outdoor areas. The picnic-table section is fairly fixed, though, so if you're coming with a big group and hoping to move tables around to make your own setup, this probably isn't that kind of place. They also have servers who come around outside. I'm still never completely sure whether they prefer you to order at the bar or through the server, but if you're planning to keep everything on one check, ordering through the server seems like the easiest way to go. Inside, there are basically two rooms. One has the main bar and brewery equipment, while the room farther back has more of a comfortable living-room feel. If you have kids with you, I'd probably recommend that side. Food is usually available from food trucks, and most of the ones I've tried have been pretty good. Outside food is also allowed. If you're bringing kids, the pro move is to bring whatever they'll definitely eat. The food truck may have fries or something kid-friendly, but bringing your own takes away the gamble if the truck is busy, running slow, or out of something. Parking can be tight and on a steep hill. Check the nearby side streets or the SEPTA lot across the way. Just be careful crossing the street because there's a pretty blind turn nearby. There are plenty of TVs inside, so it's also a good spot to watch a game. One other big plus: Ten7 is right next to the train station. If taking the train happens to be convenient for you, that's probably the easiest way to get there. Limited hours but the times they are open are likely more happening.
