We have been going to this restaurant for years. However, tonight may have been the last time. We ordered a margarita pizza, and it was awful!! Burnt crust, and barely any mozzarella cheese. Atmosphere was nice, drinks were good. Worst steak I've had in a while. The waitress told us 3 times before ordering our main dishes that the restaurant was known for its steaks and that steaks were the best. 2 of us ordered ribeye steaks. They were the toughest ribeyes I've had anywhere. They were cooked nicely and a bit thin but for the price, i would never go back. I also found that other dishes were good but there were up charges for sides that seemed ridiculously expensive. $7 up charge for carrots? I have been to the Fireside MANY times and have always had a great experience. In fact, Kate--one of the bartenders-- is the reason why we keep returning....she is THE BEST!!! Always fast, friendly, service with a smile, which is more than I can say for Linda, the most miserable cashier Giant has ever known. I happened to be there the night of the aforementioned Eagles game scuffle. The situation was swiftly handled by the staff--and ultimately, the police. We went to the Fireside on the advice of a friend to watch the Eagles game a few weeks ago. We got there early and got a good seat at the bar. The food was okay but the service was pretty bad. Our bartender (Katie I believe was her name) was not friendly and very slow to refill our beers or take our orders. Towards the end of the first half some kind of scuffle took place at the other end of the bar. I saw that a younger man in his twenties (or early thirties) was trying to assault an older man (at least in his eighties). The thing that disturbed me the most was that the bartender made no attempt to diffuse the situation. I found out later that the only reason the police showed up was b/c a patron anonymously called 911. read more

Poor management of handling food. There was a bucket of pineapples ( no lid) on the floor in the corner next to the bar. There was a case of oranges( peeled and uncovered ) sitting on a small table next to the bar; also in the corner above the pineapple that someone had laid a red woolly jacket on top. It was disgusting. I spoke with someone affiliated with the restaurant about what I saw in the corner and informed her, "I could have been a food critic." The food here is great! I don't think I've ever seen a bigger piece of chicken in chicken parmesan ever! It was so good like how the restaurant is split into the restaurant portion and then the bar portion. This restaurant has plenty of options, and the early bird menu is a great option too! Have been here before and it is always a little bit loud for my liking. Multiple TV's everywhere and a HUGE bar. The place gets really full and hype for football games, which is fun, but not a place for a relaxing dinner. The main selling point for Fireside is their bar, so the food is good, but it is a little bit noticeable that the restaurant doesn't have their main focus on it. Plus a $3 up-charge for fries from a bag of chips? Seems a bit much to me. Service has always been semi-professional when I have dinner here in the past. I went to a party of 12 people here in the past year and they were very accommodating with the sitting arrangements and splitting the check. But that was only with one server. Another time, we could never really find our waitress. She never really checked in with us for almost our whole meal and it was hard to find her when we wanted to pay. I guess it depends on who you get. Would definitely recommend as a party place for a drink and to see the game. Would somewhat recommend for a dinner with friends. Always a good meal at a good value. The server should have checked with the table after the food was served and didn't. Nice atmosphere. My family had been eating there several times annually and was outraged a bag was not provided to take leftovers. Claimed only allowed for take out which is ridiculous. My senior parents had to carry their desserts by hand and my wife and I had to carry our child's left over pizza box, each of our leftover containers, a leftover sauce container and two dessert leftover containers. We came here with a group of friends on a Friday night. The place was packed and the parking lot was full but we managed to find the last spot left I think. We had a reservation but still had to wait a little bit for them to clear a table. Service was sorta slow but I guess that's expected with a crowded place. I ended up with a Sam seasonal, husband got a couple rolling rocks. His 2nd one definitely tasted different than the first though. He thought it was supposed to be my beer at first, I thought it was a totally different beer altogether. It tasted watered down, I thought maybe it was a light beer. If it was rolling rock then it must have been the end of keg. I ordered the seafood special of the night which included stuffed flounder, scallops, shrimp,and clams casino. You also got a soup/salad and 2 sides with it. Seemed like a pretty good deal for $21.99. The portions were huge, got a big plate of onion rings which were very crispy and tasty. I liked the shrimp and scallops the best they were perfectly cooked and you got 6 of each. I also liked the lemon butter sauce that was underneath. The stuffed flounder was kind of small and dry. It was the crab stuffing type of stuff in the flounder not lump crab. The clams casino was sandy and too salty. The coleslaw tasted too vinegary. Husband got Stromboli and it was pretty good. Overall big portions and prices are decent, but food is average. Not against going back again sometime if friends wanted to go, but not in a rush to either. read more

My wife and I were given a gift card to eat at the Fireside Bar & Grill. We were seated right away, welcomed by the waitress and had a little small talk. We order our food and it came right away. This was a great place to watch the Phillies play. They had a solid happy hour menu with $8 shrimp. We came with three of us - and split 2lbs of wings. Very, very solid spot. Very good wings, and good food overall with sneaky big menu. Great for kids (kids menu and it's loud inside so OK if baby/young kid is fussy). Bar scene is strong too- at all times of the day. I'll begin by saying I worked as a waitress and bartender for 30 years. I'm very forgiving of things that can go wrong. But tonight was the worst ever. Went to the bar, which was less than half full, and waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged. I ordered a Black and Tan, and watched the bartender fill the glass 3/4 with Yuengling and top it with Guinness- that's not how it's made. We put our name in for a table, and when we weren't paged, went back to hostess-oops, she accidentally swiped our name off the list. We were finally seated, ordered an app and two entrees. Soup was literally cold. She took it back and nuked it. Dinner came out and my potatoes were ice cold in the center and "roasted" veges were hard. Then the appetizer came out, and we told them we didn't want it half way through dinner. Literally in the middle of eating, the waitress asked if we wanted anything else or will be we wanting dessert? She brought over a take out container, the check, and let us know she took the appetizer off the check ( did she think we were going to pay for their mistake?) Unprofessional, terrible kitchen, awful bartender, inept hostess, and not a manager in sight. In a town full of great restaurants, I don't know how this place stays in business. read more

I was there the night the gentleman and lady came in with the service dog. The gentleman explained to the hostess and manager that his dog was a service animal and the manger still asked them to be seated outside. This isn't right. Especially if this man defended our county and has a service dog because of injuries sustained in war. This is a horrible business that discriminates against people with disabilities and veterans. Would NOT recommend. The staff at Fireside Bar & Grille in Ambler discriminate against customers with disabilities. My SO and I attempted to have dinner there last night. He's a veteran with a service dog, which he was given after serving two deployments overseas in the Middle East, protecting the freedoms we all enjoy. The hostess and manager informed us that we were welcome to have dinner outside (8pm in October temps) but not inside the restaurant because of my SO's service dog and the need for other patrons to be comfortable. This is illegal and frankly, unconscionable. Shame on this establishment. Train your employees on Federal laws, specifically the Americans With Disabilities Act. read more
