Cozy French bistro in Ambler. Friendly service and tasty French cuisine. We were expecting pomme frites but got French fries instead (thicker and not salty), but our main courses were delicious. We were served an incorrect dessert but it was still yummy. Pricey but delicious.

We met our parents at this spot in Ambler on a Saturday night. We were quite surprised that we couldn't get a 5:30 reservation the day of so we settled for 5pm. Planchette is BYOB and seems to specialize in crepes. We started off with some wonderful grilled octopus and grilled calamari. This is not your usual fried calamari (much much better). For my main course I had a mushroom and duck crepe and my spouse enjoyed the smoked salmon crepe. Both were a bit heavy on the sauce and not the largest portion for a $20+ meal but were very tasty and left room for dessert. For dessert, they come around with the dessert platter so you can't resist! I had a delicious carrot cake slice while my spouse had the banana Nutella crepe. Both were highlights of the evening. The staff was friendly and had great recommendations. They did usher us out around 6:30 for the next reservation, but that's understandable.

Had: Escargots de Bourbogne Delectable. La Mer A good variety of seafood. Mornay sauce was yummy. La Viande Not gamey. Very delicate. Both crepes, I was quite surprised that they were both crisp. Texture wise. Give them an A+

This was by far the best piece of meat that I have ever ate. It was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. Came here in first Friday in Ambler and it was amazing. I'm would recommend this place to other people.

What an absolute gem Planchette is in Ambler - cute, charming inside or out. I ate outside on a bright sunny day. Service was prompt friendly and the courses were timed perfectly and my goodness the escargots were tremendous - plump and juicy perfectly prepared and delicious. The smoked trout is the best crepe I have ever eaten. A generous filet paired with delicately sliced asparagus, capers and an exceptional sauce. Finished with a crème brûlée. A taste of Paris in the town of Ambler - who would've known? Now I do and so do you.

Loud, crowded, overpriced, service was mediocre. Crepe was not good, very dry. My friend liked her fish.

It's a very nice place to have a good meal with your loved ones. It's worth having patience due to how busy they get.

You can tell Daniel (the owner) actually cares about how everything runs. The place is clean, organized, and everything flows smoothly without feeling rushed. And Christina... she's seriously the best. Super friendly, easy to talk to, and actually helps guide you through the menu. She was on point with the specials and made great recommendations. We even got into a conversation about her trip to Peru, which was a really cool touch it felt natural, not forced, and made the whole experience better. We started with the Leche de Tigre, and it was a perfect opener, fresh, citrusy, and packed with flavor. You get that brightness from the lime with just the right kick, plus the calamari added a nice texture. We also tried one of the specials, the causa, which was light but still full of flavor and a great way to start. For the mains, we went all in. The Cowboy Steak (18 oz bone-in ribeye) was easily the highlight, cooked right, super flavorful, and paired with the huancaína risotto and that huacatay butter... yeah, that combo is no joke. We also had the pollo a la brasa (special, marinated 24 hours), and you can tell it was super juicy, well-seasoned, and done right. We also had the pasta con mariscos, and this one deserves its own mention. Homemade pasta with shrimp, calamari, and mussels in a chupe-style tomato broth rich, flavorful, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Definitely one of those dishes you keep going back to. And I'm not even exaggerating... the table bread with the butter? We were eating like it was part of the main course. That butter is ridiculously good. Dessert sealed it. The lava cake with lucuma ice cream was warm, rich, and balanced out perfectly by the ice cream. We also tried the house-made guanábana sorbet, which was light, refreshing, and the perfect way to finish after a heavy meal. The vibe is what really ties it all together. It's casual enough to hang out with friends and talk, but still nice enough for a date night or bringing family. It doesn't try too hard, and that's exactly why it works. Overall, everything just clicked: food, service, atmosphere. No weak spots. Definitely coming back. This version is clean, structured, and reads like someone who actually understands what they're talking about, not just listing food.

The staff were super friendly and checked in just enough without being annoying. The food was the best part for sure. Everything tasted fresh and actually well-seasoned, especially the seafood. You can tell it's not just thrown together--it had that real Mediterranean flavor. The portions were good too, I definitely left full. There's also a nice variety on the menu, so it's easy to find something you'll like. Overall, it's a really solid spot. If you're into seafood or just want something different with good flavor, I'd definitely recommend it. I'd go back for sure.

We were looking to try a different restaurant this weekend, and decided to try Seven Seas…read more We started with a yummy roasted eggplant remoulade with tomato. I put it on the fresh pita and it was an excellent starter. We ordered the Caesar Salad - it was very good - fresh, green leafy lettuce - crispy croutons, a sprinkling of grated cheese, and a delicious dressing. Next up, the Crab Bisque. I lived in Maryland for 30 years and had crab bisque many, many times. This was the first crab bisque that wasn't tomato based - it was a brownish, creamy version. It was more like chowder - although when I looked up 'bisque', it most certainly can be creamy. I might have been fine with the 'creamy version', but it lacked any crab flavor and had no crab in it - not one shred. I've never had any fish soup that had no fish in it. I took a few spoonfuls and left it. My partner tried it and came to the same conclusion. The entrees came next - I got the Seared Branzino and my partner got the Shrimp and Scallops. The Seared Branzino was okay - there were bites where I had a very fishy taste - and it was a very small piece of fish. My partner's Shrimp and Scallops came with steamed garlic spinach and mashed potatoes. The Scallops were tender and cooked perfectly - they were in a delicious sauce and had a very nice sear. However, the Shrimp were tough and chewy - we were both very surprised to have one item (scallops) so good, and another (shrimp) on the same plate, that was so bad. The steamed garlic spinach and mashed potatoes were very good. While our Caesar salad, Scallops and side dishes were very good, the rest of the meal was lacking.
