Halligan's Irish Fries
Kristin C.

Came here this evening for a cup of coffee and something small to share with my husband. These had to be the best Irish fries I've had yet. The white cheddar cheese sauce was great. I prefer that over just baking fries in the oven with shredded white cheddar. The fries were also perfectly crunchy. Very filling and we had to bring some home. The French onion soup was perfect. Lots of cheese and the broth was very flavorful. Our server was nice and took care of us. The inside of this place was very spacious. Love the granite countertops and the atmosphere. We'll be back.

Shepherd's Pie ..... Excellent!!!

Had the Shepherd's Pie, it was delicious!! So flavorful - just the right amount of spices...My favorite combo of meat and potatoes..They were very friendly, courteous and helpful...Definitely stopping here again when I am back in PA!

Poor customer service notice!!! Halligan's Pub My teenage daughter was home alone and wanted to order a plain grilled chicken sandwich. She ordered from Halligan's on Grubhub. Searching through the site she could not find the sandwich in the menu but has ordered it before in person. So she ordered the closest thing she could find, the Cajun chicken sandwich. She put it clearly in the comments she wanted a plain chicken sandwich with no seasoning since one could not be found on line. (see note in screenshot) When it arrived it was seasoned. It was very spicy and she could not eat it. When I called to complain, I was told it is under burgers on the menu online and they were very argumentative with me. I still can not find it on the Grub Hub menu. When I asked if I could get a grilled chicken sandwich to replace this one, I was told it would be 10 dollars and some change. I asked if they were still going to charge us over this mistake, they said I would have to pay for the new sandwich. I hung up. I am now on my way to Jerzee's Sports Bar and Pizzaria to get a sandwich. I highly recommend them instead for quick and customer focused service (and note that we have been longtime Halligan's customers). Poor customer service notice!!! CORNED BEEF? Or maybe ham? Definitely not corned beef!
Karen P.

It's St. Paddy's Day and I couldn't wait to eat Corned Beef & Cabbage. I ordered 3 dinners for takeout. Not cheap $51.00. Got home and the meat was literally lunch meat!!!! I'm not even sure it was corned beef, tasted more like ham. Don't go here if you want authentic corned beef and cabbage, go somewhere else!

Very nice staff, but I was served chicken sliders that were severely under cooked, and were still charged for the dish.

Foods not bad. Fair selection of beer. Mixed drink menu is good. Prices aren't too bad. Decent place to stop and grab a bite.

It's a basement bar On West Bridge Street, Right off of the sidewalk you have to take a few stairs down to get to the pub and then a bunch of stairs to actually walk right into the pub. We wanted to try a few different places in the area and saw this and had to stop in, we only had two Irish coffees which actually were made the real Irish way and they were absolutely delicious by the gentleman behind the bar, wearing an Eagles hat. We ate lunch previously so we were not hungry to get any food- honestly I don't know what type of food that they have because we did not look at the menu at all. But they were very nice and courteous, we got there early so there was really nobody else there at that time, the owner- I believe his name was Freddy -actually came over and was very chatty and hospitable with us for a few minutes and then he had to get back to work lol. Freddy mentioned they have live entertainment on Saturday nights maybe the next time that we venture up there we will go and see their entertainment. Even though it looks small Freddy mentioned that they actually do have four floors. If you're in the area, stop by this Irish pub that it looks like they have a lot of pride about

They had really good beer prices and I ordered an IPA and a Philly Cheesesteak and a hummus plate. After having some amazing cheesesteaks, this one was a little subpar, not bad but nothing compared to Angelo's, which was amazing. The hummus was really great and we went through it, so good. Pretty good service for such a packed place. Kind of dive bar, but obviously people loved it. Lots of TVs on the walls and I think it has been around a long time. Located in an alley type road. Worth a try.

Its pretty cool on the inside, definitely passes the Irish pub vibe check. One thing that killed it for us right away: it was LOUD. Sure, we're not in our twenties anymore, but we're not super old. It was mid afternoon, before dinner time, and the music was so loud we were going to have to yell across the tiny table to hear each other. After walking around in the heat all day it was just not what we were looking for. We did stay for a drink. He had a decent old fashioned, though pretty tiny for the price. I had a beer, and it was what would be expected. The one thing that really stood out was the server. She was nice, pleasant, and very quick. I'd maybe go back if I was in the right mood, but that day was certainly not the day for me.

Wait staff is very attentive, and with the addition of their outside sitting area, quite roomy. They have a ton of beers available, many on tap. We went with the 20-piece Southern Country Garlic Wings and the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. Overall, the flavor did not disappoint! The wings were incredibly delicious, packed with garlicky Southern flavor and served jumbo style, which was a nice touch. However, I do wish we had asked for them fried hard. The texture would've been much better that way. One small downside was the fatty bits left on the wings before frying, which made them a tad bit annoying to eat. At $26.99 for 20 wings, they were definitely on the pricey side. The Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls had a great crunch, but they were extremely small. Flavor-wise, they were decent, though I've had better. At $13.99, I expected a little more in size and portion. Despite a few minor critiques, we enjoyed our meal and appreciated the no fuss dinner option. Would I come back? Possibly, but next time I'm asking for those wings fried extra hard! Rating: 3.5
