While vacationing my hubby and I decided to keep dinner simple and casual. We ordered takeout from Union Jack's Pub. We went with the 20-piece Southern Country Garlic Wings and the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. Overall, the flavor did not disappoint! The wings were incredibly delicious, packed with garlicky Southern flavor and served jumbo style, which was a nice touch. However, I do wish we had asked for them fried hard. The texture would've been much better that way. One small downside was the fatty bits left on the wings before frying, which made them a tad bit annoying to eat. At $26.99 for 20 wings, they were definitely on the pricey side. The Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls had a great crunch, but they were extremely small. Flavor-wise, they were decent, though I've had better. At $13.99, I expected a little more in size and portion. Despite a few minor critiques, we enjoyed our meal and appreciated the no fuss dinner option. Would I come back? Possibly, but next time I'm asking for those wings fried extra hard! Cute and hoppin' place. We specifically went to see Tommy Conwell, who put on a good acoustic show and even sang 'Not Your Man.' My date knows him from being in the business so I met Tommy. Very nice guy and his looks reminds me of Michael Keaton. The food was just okay. I got French Onion soup and pierogis. He got a chicken cheese steak. Really nice crowd and staff. Union Jack's - Came in for happy hour but there was nothing happy about it! I stopped at Union Jack's Old Glory Pub in Glenside with a friend before dropping him at the Jenkintown train station. We had some time to kill and I'd heard good things about their wings, so we decided to try it. Unfortunately, our visit was one frustration after another. We were seated outside at 3:59 PM and told our server we were short on time. We immediately ordered: a beer (happy hour), a cocktail (not on happy hour, fine by me), and two happy hour appetizers -- wings ($10) and poppers ($5). The beer came quickly, but my cocktail took about 10 minutes despite the place not being busy (two other outdoor tables already had their food). When the drink finally arrived, it was dripping down the stem. No napkins were provided, and the server had already walked away. I had to call after her to request some, only to be told she'd be back -- (a neighboring table offered us some of theirs, saying they had to ask too.) At 4:17 PM, the server returned to inform us they were out of poppers -- one of only three happy hour food items. This should have been mentioned when we ordered, not 20 minutes later. At that point it was too late for me to order anything else for dine-in, so I decided to get 20 wings to-go (to share with my neighbor, who loves their wings) along with onion rings. The wing menu lists "Mild, Medium, Hot & Suicidal" sauces as included, and says "Specialty Wing Sauce add .25 for each 10 ordered." I confirmed with the server that the specialty sauce fee was 25¢ per 10 wings, so I ordered three sauces and asked for the included mild on the side as well. At 4:30 PM, my friend's wings finally arrived -- giving us barely 10 minutes to eat before heading to the train. We asked for both checks (one dine-in, one to-go). Both bills were wrong. The happy hour wings were charged at $12.99 instead of $10. The to-go wings ($26.99 on the menu) were charged at $30.15. When I questioned this, I was told the extra was for sauce -- but now it was "79¢ each for to-go" instead of the 25¢ I was told earlier and that was printed on the menu. At that point we had to leave for the train, so we just paid and decided to call later. At 5:00 PM after dropping my friend at the train, I called to speak with a manager -- none on duty. I left my name and number. At 9:30 PM, still no call back, so I called again and spoke to the bar manager, who listened and said she'd speak to the owner. She called back the next morning to say the owner would refund me $2.52 (the difference between the price on the menu and what they actually charged) but couldn't put it back on my card -- I'd have to come in and pick it up. That was it. No apology, no offer to make it right, no incentive to return! This wasn't just about $2.52 -- it was the entire poor experience: slow service, lack of communication, incorrect bills, misleading menu pricing, and an owner who clearly doesn't value customer satisfaction. With so many options in the area, I choose to support businesses that appreciate my business. This one does not! And for the record -- I did not return for the $2.52 and the wings weren't even worth the trouble! read more

We walked the 1+ mile to UJ and the food and drinks did not disappont. We ordered the Tues special wings with pineapple, honey habenaro sauce 5/5, steak sandwich en jus 5/5 and small fish and chips 5/5. The chips were homemade potato chip which was a definite plus and different. The pub looked like an English pub and service was quick and friendly. We would definitely return. read more

Stopped in for lunch last Sunday. My boyfriend lives close by so it's very convenient. They have a nice selection of craft beers so my boyfriend tried something new and I tried a cider. We ordered hot wings and loaded fries. The fries were loaded which was nice considering it seems like most places don't put enough of the toppings on. The wings were good but the hot sauce wasn't a classic hot wing sauce that I'm used to and prefer. Had a lot of pepper in it. Came here last night on a whim and didn't regret it. The food and drinks here were outstanding. The loaded waffle fries were perfectly layered with all the fixings. The honey apple bbq wings were thoroughly cooked and drenched in sauce. I wasn't going to drink, but I just had to try the hot buttered rum. It was very strong. The atmosphere was pretty chill. My overall experience was nice. I had a few jerk and mild chicken wings, which were actually pretty decent. The jerk had a smokiness and the mild wings had a unique crunch, and didn't leave your hands a saucy mess, just greasy. The stuff did take a little while to come. People say go to Jack's for wings, but the last few times I had them they were awful, dry, over cooked, very little sauce, a huge disappointment. Try these wings. They were so good I had to place a 2nd order. First I tried the Southern Country wings and it was like being at a Kentucky picnic. It was so good I had to order 10 more. The 2nd round I tried the Bourbon Molasses wings. The smell demands your attention as it approaches. The taste is also good, but might not for everyone. Very sweet and unique flavor. I can't wait to try the other flavors they have. Also, they have a great beer selections. They have REAL beer here and discerning taste buds won't be disappointed. Sadly, most of the dudes here drink Miller Lite. Like my favorite Yelper says, "FOUR YELPS!". I have been coming here for years - always loved the wings. Just left and feel cheated and ignored. My friend and I ordered 20 wings well done, crispy! Didn't happen, just not crisp enough. We each ate 3 and sent them back. They came out perfect but short 4 and mostly drums. We actually kept our eaten wings on our plate. When we said something to the waitress, she didn't even comment - just walked away and brought us our check minus $2.55 for the missing wings. Good friends abound, for years, the wife knew...now I know. Everything is excellent. Great selection of beers & bar, especially on tap. I love my Guinness but tried a Boulder just recently. Hand cut fries & English chips are amazing. But I stay for the wings!!! Always perfect, crispy, flavor bomb. Traditional are great, Spicy Thai to mix it up. G lines the Lemon Parm which do not disappoint. & I fell in love with the bourbon molasses. If you can stand it, it's TOTES worth trying the pineapple honey habanero! Union Jacks had over 13 different flavors for wings. The wings were fried to perfection and tasted delicious. We tried the lemon pepper Parmesan, char broiled Jamaican jerk and hot wings. I really enjoyed the Jamaican jerk which had a nice subtle heat. The lemon pepper Parmesan was my second favorite with a delicious sauce. Well let me honestly say that..it's a cute little place..staff was great ..our waitress was nice...we ordered burger ..loaded waffle fries and the 30 piece wings but only got the 10 piece..our waitress may of not heard us and it seemed like we waited forever to get out food.. could be because there was a private party going on in the back..anywhoo.. the burger was better then the wings and loaded waffle fries.. sad to say wings were tad dry..waffle fries would have been well worth it if they added more fries..that plate shown in picture there was $9.99...but that's not what I considered loaded..anywhoo the burger was delicious..if I were to go back I'd def go for the burgers.. read more
