Truffle Parmesan Fries and Breaded Cheese Curds
    Lisa S.

Extremely pleased with my first experience at Robert's Block! The Happy Hour menu is out of this world. Feet away from the Glenside Septa station, it's a super convenient spot to grab a drink or watch a game after work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was surprised at how empty it was at 5:00 PM.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was seated right away in the bar area while I waited for my friend to arrive. The waitress came over to offer water and take my drink order. She was very attentive and prompt the entire evening. The beers on the menu seem to be on a constant rotation according to the season. I ordered a Hell or High Watermelon on draft to start. My friend and I split the breaded cheese curds and truffle Parmesan fries. Both were delicious and large enough portions to share. The Louie flatbread was also amazing, and I'm happy they could accommodate my request to remove the prosciutto. I boxed up half and took it to go. Finally, the Kitchen Sink Cookie skillet. It was brought out to the table piping hot and was the perfect combination of sweet and salty. All of the skillets on the dessert menu sounded fantastic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would love to visit again and sit in the outdoor area next time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thanks, Robert's Block!

Food was good. We came here for a show. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like the outdoor area, it's cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was okay.

Dave & AM doing their thing at Roberts Block. You should make a point of catching their act! You won't be disappointed.

My wife Betsy and I have had the absolute best time at Roberts Block each and every time we've visited. The food is always delicious, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere second to none[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], the service always wonderful with attention being paid right through the meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the music - especially our good friends Play it Forward - is terrific![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We especially enjoy moving outside on a nice night to enjoy the music close-up and a bit of dessert along with a beverage.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Roberts Block has it all! We look forward to going back again soon.

    Blueberry cosmo, grilled chicken entree

My friend introduced me to this place. It's tucked away by the train station, who knows if I would've noticed it without her, but when you walk in the place has a nice ambiance. The staff was kind. I ordered the blueberry cosmo and I loved the fresh blueberries that came with it. I ordered the grilled chicken entree thinking it would be one of the lighter items on the menu, a good before-concert-meal' but it ended up being quite a big serving and I won't lie it was so good that I ate it all anyway. I'm not even a huge risotto fan but the parm risotto may change my mind.

Friendly staff, good cocktails, good bar food. We sat outside w lots of umbrella provided shade. If you want to sit outside at happy hour/dinner time, get there early. Our server was training new staff and they were both fantastic. We got a bunch of appetizers to share, all tasty. The blood orange Rita block tail was a big hit. Live music started around 7. At that time, it seemed like our server may have been moved inside, but still gave excellent service. After dinner, we had a drink at the bar. Jessie gave friendly, quick service, and made us feel right at home -- excellent service!

The Salmon dish with mango salsa, roasted potatoes and green beans.

The salmon was delicious just a tad on the saltier side for me I don't use a lot of salt I should have probably specified that so I know for next time. I also had the special of the day as an appetizer which were the bang bang shrimp tacos and they were great as well. Just the shrimp were a bit overly breaded for being fried. Again, I think it's more of a preference for me because I lean on the healthier side of eating, so less is more, but they were still great. I loved the red cabbage in the taco. The flatbread was also delicious even though a $2 substitute for cauliflower crust is quiet steep considering the flatbread is already $14.50. Overall our waiter was sweet and we were there really early when they just reopened in the evening for dinner. Oh! And I absolutely LOVE the ambience. The interior decor is absolutely suburb. I love that the dishes all matched and I wish it wasn't so hot to enjoy the outdoor space because that looked lovely as well.

We walked the 1+ mile to UJ and the food and drinks did not disappont. We ordered the Tues special wings with pineapple, honey habenaro sauce 5/5, steak sandwich en jus 5/5 and small fish and chips 5/5. The chips were homemade potato chip which was a definite plus and different. The pub looked like an English pub and service was quick and friendly. We would definitely return.

We went with the 20-piece Southern Country Garlic Wings and the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. Overall, the flavor did not disappoint! The wings were incredibly delicious, packed with garlicky Southern flavor and served jumbo style, which was a nice touch. However, I do wish we had asked for them fried hard. The texture would've been much better that way. One small downside was the fatty bits left on the wings before frying, which made them a tad bit annoying to eat. At $26.99 for 20 wings, they were definitely on the pricey side. The Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls had a great crunch, but they were extremely small. Flavor-wise, they were decent, though I've had better. At $13.99, I expected a little more in size and portion. Despite a few minor critiques, we enjoyed our meal and appreciated the no fuss dinner option. Would I come back? Possibly, but next time I'm asking for those wings fried extra hard! Rating: 3.5

You will REEK like smoke when you leave- No food of any knd-not even chips ..you can walk across the street to the Wawa...surprised they just dont go to BJS and sell a variety pack of snacks and make a few extra bucks. 1 or 2 "average" at best bartenders- I guess its good for smokers to have a place to go but they have a little awning covered front with chairs- I think if they went non-smoking like Buckets did they would reap the benefits and people could still go just a few feet outside and be covered from the elements. To be honest- I usually end up here becuase other places close early -I've never left my house as this as my first choice.

It's a small dive bar, nothing fancy, but me and a few of my friends from out of town, all in our early 30s, would go there to play pool and hang out. The old heads there always treated us with respect, and there are definitely some good people there. But things around it have taken a turn. To say there are "characters" would be an understatement. Some of the people in and around that place are straight up sketchy. I've had someone sell me a fake apple watch and get aggressive about it (mistake I made was letting this man in my car so I can make sure the watch worked and of course it turned out to be fake) but he was old and looked harmless... but when he mentioned a knife, I had to let it g as I have a new born son and I had already made a poor decision on hi behalf). And while the bartender I spoke to is a good guy and was right not to get involved, it still leaves you feeling like there's this unspoken "look the other way" culture. That doesn't sit right with me, it almost feels like it enables the wrong kind of behavior. To be clear, this incident did not take place in the parking lot of the bar, but it's the surrounding area which these morons typically come from. I saw a couple in their 50's screaming and fighting outside while kids were walking by with their dad getting ice cream. That's not something you want to see in your own neighborhood. Thats what college kids do open thirsty Thursdays It makes you wonder, if people are comfortable scamming and acting aggressive like that, what else is going on? Who else are they targeting? It's a shame, because there are good people there and it used to feel like a solid local spot. But between the behavior and the environment it's attracting, it's not somewhere I feel comfortable being anymore, especially with a family to think about. My god I cant wait to leave this town. And I am from the Bronx originally....

The bartender rudely denied one of our group's ID (although valid). I attempted to speak to the churlish bartender, and he told me, "No. Whatever the question is, the answer is no" before walking away from me. Per PA's RAMP ID laws, ID or Driver's Licenses from any of the 50 states or territories, a US military ID, or a passport are accepted as valid forms of identification. This establishment does have a sign on the front door informing customers that out of state IDs require an additional form of identification. There were no other written policies stating that U.S. passports were not accepted as valid forms of ID here, nor did the bartender request an additional form of ID before he aggressively rejected the passport. While up to the bartender's discretion, it feels like there is a gap in knowledge on acceptable IDs per PA's RAMP laws, and it was a shock to witness the bartender be so discourteous towards individuals not carrying PA DLs, especially during the FIFA World Cup, when there is an abundance of foreigners in the areas surrounding Philadelphia. I would gladly patronize any other bar in the area, as the bartender directed us to do. I would never want to go to an establishment that chooses to be so coarse to a polite group of young adults. I hope that the owner of this bar chooses to educate its employees more and train them to be more tactful when interacting with customers.
