If I was able to give NO STARS, that would be my rating. I've been here several times before. Not wowed over in the past, but it was middle range. This time, however, will be my absolutely last. Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend this establishment after my last experience. The Soup was horrible; the La Mer crepe was disgusting. I mean the filling was the worst (mushy & foul-tasting), and even the shrimp garnish tasted spoiled. The taste that it left in my mouth was so bad, that I had to run across the street after paying the bill and get some ice cream to alter the negative sensation left in my mouth. Speaking of paying the bill, it was obvious by the amount of food left in my plate that I either did not enjoy it, or something was radically wrong. Our waiter never approached us to ask, "how was the meal, or anything like that?" Before receiving the bill, I did complain, and his response was, you should have told us when you were served the meal. It's ok. Long story short- it's a version of a pseudo French restaurant. I would say this.... If you go to a suburbs restaurant, and it's "French", expectations should be for what would be considered "French" when you are away from a big city. Service was great, food was average and below. I wanted to love the place as it is very warm in atmosphere, but the food needs major improvement. Many basic mistakes in the dishes. A memorably horrible meal. Went there with my family from Québec on a Friday night. Party of 6, including 2 kids. The place wasn't even half full - should have been our first clue. Service was incredibly slow, the 2 waiters there should have been able to easily handle the 4 other parties there. Ordering was a chore, everything was "pre-mixed", no substitutions or accommodations for kids or a food allergy. Seriously, a crêpe place that can't just make a plain ham and cheese crêpe, no sauce, for a kid, should not call itself a crêperie (or call the alternative Traditional). We should have got up and left, but we were all hungry and tired, and paid the price for it (literally and figuratively). After a really long delay, the first course of French onion soup and Caesar salad were the only highlight of the night; the kids enjoyed them. The main course (after another long delay) ranged from acceptable to inedible. The acceptable Viande crêpes were probably the best of the bunch, but the truffle sauce rich and made the crepe soggy. My cousin's steak frites was inexplicably served thinly sliced ensuring that the meat would be cold by the time it was eaten. And then my wife's Mediterranean crêpe was just plain inedible. A day later, the bad taste is still in her mouth. Final insult to injury, the bill included a $25 charge for my son's "grilled chicken breast and fries". I'm not going to complain about everything else, which was overpriced for what we got, but those prices were posted on the menu. But $25 for what was basically a kid's meal was beyond the pale. There are so many other good places in Ambler, do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. read more

The restaurant takes reservations but does not honor them. Made Valentine's Day reservations here and showed up to a line out the door of people who also had reservations but no seats available. Hardly anyone seated had been served and the overall mood looked cramped and miserable -- I particularly felt bad for the people seated by the front door who had a group of people waiting to check in encroaching on their table. Based on prior reviews, this seems to be an ongoing problem. We scrambled to find another restaurant to eat at and will not be back. read more

When we arrived there was only one other table. Owner/ waiter took his time bringing menus and water. Not consumer friendly at all. For the atmosphere , cost( pricey) and attitude we would not recommend it. read more

Went for Mother's Day. Had a reservation. Would only seat us outside on the sidewalk on a cold, windy, light rainy day. Very disappointed.

My husband & I thought we'd try this place because we hadn't yet been there before..The online menu sounded nice and so we made a reservation. We both thought it was "ok", at best. The service was lacking. The grilled octopus appetizer consisted of a small testicle for $21. While it was tasty, it was definitely over-priced! My chicken crepe was just ok and so was my husband's salmon. We won't recommend this place nor return. read more

Excited to support a new business in the neighborhood. Kind of noisy, but still a nice ambience on a Saturday night with live accordion music. A little cramped, but totally understandable that they are squeezing as many tables in as they can. Unfortunately, I don't eat cheese and not one of the crêpes was offered without. Ordered the steak frites for $30. My husband got the sausage. Very disappointed with the steak. Six slices of lukewarm meat accompanied by soggy, greasy fries. Looked kind of sad on the plate, tasted the same and certainly did not warrant the price. The sausage was a hearty portion, pretty tasty but very spotty as far as temperature. Sausage was dead cold, peppers and onions on top blazing hot and everything else lukewarm. All in all, not worth it for the price, which we hate to say as we are very anxious to see local businesses succeed. read more

Decided to try this new restaurant for lunch. We walked in and it was completely empty with loud obnoxious music blaring. We sat down and politely asked the owner if he could lower the music a bit. At first he agreed, but then he asked if we didn't like the music. My husband politely said it just wasn't his style. At this point, the owner became confrontational and told us that if we didn't like the music we could leave. We have never had this type of experience at a restaurant before and will never go back. read more

Had a reservation on a Thursday night, quiet evening as not many diners. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Started with the fried calamari which I like but seldom order, very fresh and the batter was light and flavorful. Ordered two crepes vs the other options and numerous specials. One duck, very good. We had dinner at Planchette yesterday in celebration of Father's Day. In addition to my husband and myself, our daughter, son in law, and two adult grandsons shared the meal. The food was absolutely the best we've had in a very long time. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff was wonderful too. Everyone knows it's been very difficult getting and keeping staff since the pandemic hit. It's a shame the folks that complained so bitterly about having to wait did not take this fact into consideration. We'd heartily recommend this restaurant for a fine dining experience. read more

Took over a half hour just to place our order. An hour to get our appetizers. The food was very good once we got it. The Steak et Frites was excellent, but 8 small medallions for $32 was way overpriced. I recommend going on an off night. Forgot to add, after more than an hour since being seated and not receiving our appetizer, I went inside and asked the waiter where our food was, I'd like to just leave. The owner/manager ran over and yelled at me. Said they're busy and to wait. He then came to my table after I sat down and he showed me when our order was put in the system. If I could give zero stars I would defiantly give it to this place. Highly DO NOT recommend this place. They do serve not fresh food. Additional to that the manager/owner is super rude. When I mentioned that the food wasn't fresh the manager/owner started to YELL at me. He didn't even ask what exactly we didn't like. ( we didn't even touch the crepes and dessert and nobody asked if we like the food) . Horrible customer service. We paid full bill ( where we ate only one meal out of 4) and got yelled! I wish I did take a picture of this "fresh" chef board and dessert so could see what do I mean. I thought too high of this place. Bad service and food! Went on a Saturday night and was extremely disappointed with the owner. One of the waiters asked if we wanted more bread, my husband said yes, more. The owner quickly went to our table and reprimanded my husband for not treating the waiter nicely and he shouldn't just say "more". It was extremely strange, so as we were walking out, we told him we were leaving and his response "bye". It's a shame because the other workers were very professional! read more

We had a wonderful lunch. The restaurant is pretty. We sat by the window. The waitress was very pleasant and took our order. We shared their French fries and the Mediterranean crepe. Food was excellent. Pesto sauce was delicious. Owner is very nice. Would definitely go back. read more

We stopped in for a late Saturday lunch. The atmosphere is charming - decor reminiscent of a traditional French bistro. The onion soup was memorable- just enough of a delicious blend of cheeses. The cheese on the bistro fries was great. The crepes was perfectly made and the filling was delicious. Dropped in for lunch around 1 pm March 21. The room was about half full. I had eaten here before and the food is generally good. The French onion soup is excellent. The let down was the service or lack thereof. One waiter/the owner for about 10 tables. I asked what I thought was a simple question about a special. His response was curt, rude and disdainful.
