11/13/22 We had looked at this venue initially for a bridal shower for my daughter- then the "C" word happened. Altogether now- "Covid" . . . So of course our event had to be cancelled. We really liked the banquet manager and the location when we initially visited the location. We chose to rebook and try again for our baby shower. The room was snug but ample enough for our guest list of nearly 50. I was very pleased with the food quality and selections. The service was good as well. Our meal was the choice of spinach tortellini, filet mignon (5oz), crab cake, or roasted half chicken. With the meal mashed potatoes, broccoli, salad and roll and butter were served. I have to say that my crab cake was delicious and it was pure crab through and through- plus no old bay seasoning (not a fan of old bay so that was a big plus for me) even the broccoli was steamed to perfection and the mashed redskin potato's were savory and tasty. Everyone loved the food. Along with that soft drinks were all included, plus coffee and Icecream with choc syrup. I understand this location hosts funeral luncheon gatherings as well. It's not easy to find a restaurant to host a banquet. Even w 50 we didn't have to pre- order. That was impressive to me- all of our guests ordered off the menu. I wish I lived closer because this venue reminds me of 7 Stars from the same era. I would certainly dine here if I lived near the area and wasn't 70 miles away. The building itself is historical and interesting. Cozy and comfortable. We decorated the room to our liking and our event was 3 hours long with a hard stop at 3:30 because another gathering was hosted following ours. To the staff, kitchen, line cooks, banquet servers, management of The Springhouse Tavern I thank you for a simply beautiful high quality experience.

Prices went through the roof quality went down. For the money they charge I'll go to the William Penn Inn.

Good food, service and ambiance. Love eating at the bar. Plenty of banters with the other patrons.

Walked in and the vibe was already a win, warm and inviting, the kind of place where you just relax right into the vibe, or head to the large bar and watch some World Cup action. Went for lunch. Service was on point too, attentive but never annoying about it. Friendly and had real suggestions when asked about faves. They brought out complimentary ceviche and honestly, incredible start. Fresh, acid balanced perfectly so you actually taste the fish, clean, instead of just lime juice and spice. And can we talk about the rice? Sounds basic, looked normie, but it was somehow the most flavorful part of the whole meal. This flavor bomb looked plain but IYKYK that this level of execution just looks simple. The rice alone will have you thinking about indulging your inner fat kid and ordering extra to take home. Like the dessert that you'll likely skip because the portions are filling. Ps. Get the flan! We went all in and ordered the seafood chimichanga, steak, shrimp fajitas, and guac on the side. Everything was cooked exactly right. Nice char on the grilled stuff, proteins juicy and tender, nothing dry, nothing overdone. The sauces were bright and punchy too, tasted like rich Mexican flavors with that fresh from the sea quality paired with exceptionally grilled seafood and tender meat. If you're anywhere near Montgomeryville and haven't been, fix that. This place deserves a crowd.

The waitress was very sweet, and brought us a second serving of ceviche with really crisp and fresh chips. They said they made them in house My husband ate the Mexican sushi - and declared it was some of the best sushi he's had in a long time. Honestly- it was deep fried. It doesn't take much to impress him. I loved their food- if we're ever in the area- we would go back!

You can tell Daniel (the owner) actually cares about how everything runs. The place is clean, organized, and everything flows smoothly without feeling rushed. And Christina... she's seriously the best. Super friendly, easy to talk to, and actually helps guide you through the menu. She was on point with the specials and made great recommendations. We even got into a conversation about her trip to Peru, which was a really cool touch it felt natural, not forced, and made the whole experience better. We started with the Leche de Tigre, and it was a perfect opener, fresh, citrusy, and packed with flavor. You get that brightness from the lime with just the right kick, plus the calamari added a nice texture. We also tried one of the specials, the causa, which was light but still full of flavor and a great way to start. For the mains, we went all in. The Cowboy Steak (18 oz bone-in ribeye) was easily the highlight, cooked right, super flavorful, and paired with the huancaína risotto and that huacatay butter... yeah, that combo is no joke. We also had the pollo a la brasa (special, marinated 24 hours), and you can tell it was super juicy, well-seasoned, and done right. We also had the pasta con mariscos, and this one deserves its own mention. Homemade pasta with shrimp, calamari, and mussels in a chupe-style tomato broth rich, flavorful, and comforting without feeling too heavy. Definitely one of those dishes you keep going back to. And I'm not even exaggerating... the table bread with the butter? We were eating like it was part of the main course. That butter is ridiculously good. Dessert sealed it. The lava cake with lucuma ice cream was warm, rich, and balanced out perfectly by the ice cream. We also tried the house-made guanábana sorbet, which was light, refreshing, and the perfect way to finish after a heavy meal. The vibe is what really ties it all together. It's casual enough to hang out with friends and talk, but still nice enough for a date night or bringing family. It doesn't try too hard, and that's exactly why it works. Overall, everything just clicked: food, service, atmosphere. No weak spots. Definitely coming back. This version is clean, structured, and reads like someone who actually understands what they're talking about, not just listing food.
