Went to this steakhouse when both my friend and I were off red meat. lol It's a white table-clothed establishment featuring plenty of tables, full bar and a private room. It sits on a corner spot in a cute area of Ambler near Ambler train station. We went for the prix fixe option and everything was mostly tasty: -Riesling was nice -crabcake (breaded): okay; -chowder: well seasoned and hearty -chicken breast: tender, juicy and flavorful; potatoes underneath-smooth and delicious -salmon: sauce on top looked a little weird in color, but this was actually tasty, and cooked well-the broccolini underneath was a bit overcooked by texture and the potatoes were fine -cheesecake with blueberry compote The steaks passing by our table looked and smelled delicious-and we'd return to try them when we are back to eating meat. Service was okay-water glasses were refilled, server read us the specials from her flip pad, we were checked on by both the server and manager. Bridget's is a lovely steakhouse on the corner of the block, right in the heart of Ambler. I went with a girlfriend and we shared a bunch of things. It was very crowded for a Tuesday, I was surprised. I suggest making a reservation, regardless of the day. There are two rooms that you can dine in, one is in the back of the restaurant and the other is out front and surrounded by windows. I personally like the room by the windows so you can people watch! You can also sit in the bar area, that sits in the middle of the two dining rooms. The ambiance in the back dining room was fine, but a little bit noisy. I think this is likely a result of the bar being right next to the dining room without a wall separating the rooms. Our server was friendly and attentive too. The food was quite good. We ordered an appetizer that was on special: scallops with peaches and brie. The scallops were a tiny bit undercooked, but super flavorful and I loves the presentation with the peaches, Brie and arugula. We also shared a salad which they graciously split for us. For our entrees, I got the rack of lamb. It was EXCELLENT. It was cooked perfectly and crusted with pesto and panko. Just delicious! My friend got the ribeye on special and she also loved it. My main complaint with Bridget's was the timing of the food and drinks coming out. We wanted to start with cocktails, and our appetizer came out before our cocktails. The cocktails seemed to take a very long time. After the appetizer came out, we also ordered the salad to share which came out almost immediately, before we'd even started our cocktails or our appetizer. We waited to order our entrees because we didn't want them to come out before we had finished our cocktails. Overall Bridget's was good, but seeing as they're an upscale and expensive restaurant, I think certain elements of the experience could be improved upon, specifically the timing of the food. My girlfriend and I came on Valentine's Day with no reservations it was packed so we went to the upstairs bar to sit and luckily there were seats open! Both bartenders were lovely and took our food and drink orders. They gave us great food recommendations and were very nice! For our appetizers we got the caesar salad and tuna poke crunch. Caesar salad had such good flavor and crunch with the crumbles of crouton one of the best Caesar salads I've eaten. Tuna was so fresh, great quality and taste. For dinner we had the filet mignon, we ordered rare and it was a little too rare lol but quality of the meat was great and it tasted really good so we didn't have a huge issue with it! Wonderful time at Bridget's and we will certainly be coming back! My boyfriend's sister recommended the spot for a nice dinner and we were very pleased. It has a nice ambiance without being stuffy and excellent, friendly service. We very much liked both the host who sat us and the server, especially as the host was nice enough to call us because my boyfriend left his sunglasses. For food, I got the summer special - $43 for a three course meal. It was a heck of a deal with delicious food. I had the soup du jour, which was a red pepper base with corn and crab. It was delicious and I'd never had a soup like it. For my main, I got a 6oz filet mignon cooked to perfection. As a heads up, you can upgrade to the 8oz for another $7 but 6 is enough for me. The mashed potatoes and green beans accompanying it were delicious. For my dessert, I got the chocolate chip bread pudding which was soooo good. Everything I ate was absolutely fabulous. My boyfriend got the lobster risotto, which I stole heartily from, and was well worth it. I'd say this dish was the biggest MUST HAVE of the meal. Bridget's Steakhouse on Butler in downtown Ambler, PA, is a lovely smaller beef shop. It is dressed in dark tones with attractive horseshoe bar and three dining rooms on different levels. We took over one of them for our office anniversary celebration. 35 of us in the one room was a bit tight, but we managed. Service was excellent with Victor handling everything from wine service to order taking and table delivery and our individual needs throughout the evening with only a little help from his friends. He is a master in the service game and deserves a big shoutout. We ordered dinner off a limited menu. Our table of four went three for the Bridget's Filet Mignon and one for the Atlantic Salmon (moi). I loved the fish, especially the over the top glaze and mushrooms underneath. Exquisite. My mates wolfed down the filet like there was no tomorrow, so it's safe to say they were tre satisfied. Each entre came with salad and choice of dessert. Mixed Greens and Vanilla Ice Cream were good, if not stars in their own right. I do have three nits to pick. First, the acoustics in our room were awful. We are a very chatty bunch and I could not hear the people sitting right next to me without leaning in and concentrating. The room needs some sound sculpting . Second, the room became colder during the evening. Perhaps they were encouraging us to leave, but my table was shivering by 9:00. Third, our event began at 6, but we weren't served until nearly 8. That's too long for drinks and conversation. We were hungry when we arrived, drank on empty stomachs, and needed to sit down with chow much sooner than we did. The banquet manager really needed to have that worked out before we arrived. This all made for a disjointed party. I imagine that Bridget's is a perfect spot for a steak dinner date, but it needs some attention to larger gatherings. AMAZING!! If you love food w seasoning & flavor come here. I had multiple items for my sisters bridal shower party. Everything was cooked to perfection & tasted absolutely amazing. They started us off w these chicken bites w some type of drizzled sauce & scallions on top. Also tomato & mozzarella w a balsamic glaze of a stick. The real food came my niece got the salmon. Food and ambiance great. We picked the place to celebrate our 49th anniversary. The service was either under staffed or we were ignored. We were the first ones seated for the 6:30 reservation on a Saturday night. Other couples came and went before we were looked after. The other couples had their dinner plus multi drinks and dessert. I still don't understand how they ate & left before we were finished our meal. No one asked if l needed more water or a second drink. My entrée was delivered and it was the wrong platter. It is immediately it was replaced. It was delicious. Then we were basically ignored. After more than ten minutes I had to get up and get the manager to clear our plates after finishing our dinners. This time we tried the upstairs bar where the best tender of drinks in the area was working his magic with the tightly packed Friday happy hour crowd. Unfortunately, the recent expansion is such a disappointment and really downgraded the room and the experience. The mirrored display bar is gone replaced with a silly looking wood niche with a few bottles, the ceiling is low, and the bathroom doors open right into the room feeling like a gas station. The larger TV is mounted on the wall in the corner and the new bar area just looks cobbled together like something in a frat house. As much as I wanted the ribeye (which looked beautiful compared to the NY strip), I didn't want to get the same thing both my parents got. So suffice it to say, my steak wasn't bad, but could've been better. The main highlight, recommended by our waitress is the calamari. The best way to describe it is having pad thai, but without the noodles and put all that into the calamari. In addition to that appetizer, I ordered brussel sprouts, since just about every place back home no longer sells it. These were good at first, but burnt for the most part. Solid dinner option in downtown Ambler with a good menu selection that offers something for everyone. It's not an "old school" steakhouse with monstrous sized steaks like you would get at a Smith & Wollensky but the food is solid and the servers are very friendly. This is definitely a local destination and many of the patrons seemed to know each other and the servers, which is always nice to see. A few highlights: 1. Lobster risotto: This is a must-try and the portion size is small enough to whet your appetite as a starter. The risotto is creamy, accented with parmesan, and comes with plenty of lobster meat. It's decadent yet still light. 2. Tuna duet: It's a solid duo of seared ahi and a tuna tartare which has a creamy, mayo base. 3. Ribeye: Solid but the cut is on the thin side - it's decent but not a match for the cajun ribeye from Smith & Wollensky's. This one is a respectable 14-16 oz vs a 20-24 oz bone-in. 4. Short ribs: Solid short rib served over a creamy, horseradish mashed potato base. 5. Jambalaya: Solid with a nice kick and plenty of jumbo shrimp. It's good but the flavors are not as complex as I have had at Creole venues - it will satisfy a craving in a pinch (and to be fair, there is NOT a plethora of jambalaya options in the area...). 6. Seafood Fra Diavolo: This was probably my favorite dish of the night with plenty of fresh JUMBO scallops and shrimp in a spicy tomato-based jus. The linguini itself was more cooked than my personal preference (which is more on the al dente side) but the overall dish was quite good. 7. Truffle fries: Solid fries with just a hint of truffle - don't use the ketchup as that will easily overpower the light truffle. 8. Title: Mixed Experience with Ups and Downs Our visit to Bridget's Steakhouse was eagerly anticipated, and while the food lived up to expectations, earning a solid three out of five stars, the overall experience had its highs and lows. On the positive side, the Jerry Garcia theme added a unique touch to the ambiance. The woman who brought our food was not only efficient but also delightful, fun, and funny, enhancing our dining experience. However, parking proved to be a challenge, and we had to park at Julia's despite the sign against it. It's not very clear where parking is exactly for Bridget's. so if you go definitely factor in a significant amount of parking and walking time. Unfortunately, the less-than-enthusiastic waitress dampened our celebration. While the food was enjoyable, her lack of engagement and difficulty in sharing a joke puzzled us, especially considering we observed her comfortably joking with her manager throughout the night. It left us questioning why she could share humor with him but not extend the same to us. It was a bit of a letdown for a first visit. Adding to the experience, I showed her a picture of a drink shared on the restaurant's Instagram the day before. Surprisingly, she claimed not to know what it was and thought it might have been a special drink from the previous day. She never took the initiative to find out for me. This added to the overall frustration during an otherwise promising visit. Bridget's Steakhouse has potential, but a friendlier and more attentive staff could make all the difference. And I just want to add one more final thing, to anyone on this restaurant reviews page complaining that they were asked to remove their hat, the restaurant was in the right. This is not a restaurant where you wear a hat. This is my very last note, but I just went to put a review on Google, and I see that this restaurant was political as a supporter of trump and pence. We were here with friends for dinner on a Sunday night. It's a nice restaurant with bad acoustics and very high prices. The acoustics are terrible. There is so much noise generated at the bar that there is no dining area that's quiet. We had to shout at each other all evening and we could barely hear our server. As a matter of fact, he could barely hear us. Having to shout definitely made dinner unpleasant. The food was good but way overpriced. 4 appetizers, 2 surf and turf dinners for two and 4 desserts was $500 with tip. That is outrageous! We do not drink alcohol so, it was diet cokes only. The surf and turf for two was really just enough for 1 person. It came with a small filet sliced, 1 lobster tail, 1 serving of asparagus and mashed potatoes and a small pot of shrimp, scallops and shredded crab meat. When the platters arrived at our table both my husband and my friends husband said "this looks good, what are you girls going to eat?". My thoughts exactly. Good thing we had bread, appetizers and dessert. Like I said, the food was good and the service was excellent but even our server agreed on the portion sizes. I went to Bridgets Steakhouse for the first time yesterday. I was a member of a group of 6 and we had a 5:30p reservation. We were seated immediately and the restaurant was clean. The servers were attentive yet weren't warm or friendly. Most of my group enjoyed their appetizers more than their meals. The calamari was a hit as the banana chips created an unexpected flavor component. Two had the aged steak that they rated as basic. Two ordered the branzino special which they stated lacked flavor. One ordered the braised short ribs which they said was just okay. I had the rack of lamb (only three pieces with is odd as most places give you four) which lacked flavor. The desserts were average. For dessert we ordered warm apple pie with ice cream and creme brûlée. We started our dinner with salad and a tomato and crab flat bread. My salad was not heavily dressed and lack flavor. The flat bread was okay but did not have a lot of crab flavor. Our entrees of steak and duck were very good. My steak was a bit more done then I'd prefer but it was still good. The pepper sauce on my steak was perfecMy date said the duck was tender and went perfect with the figs. Dessert was really good as well. Although the portion size for the Apple pie is over kill.
