    Caponata appetizer with bread
    Kristina M.

Came here for a NYE dinner. Beautiful ambiance. Food was delicious, especially the caponata appetizer and the bread. The pasta dishes were both really tasty and the service was quick and attentive.

We had dinner at Tresini with friends, on their recommendation, and it was a wonderful meal. This is absolutely a hidden gem in Ambler. The building itself is unassuming, but opens up to a lovely space inside. There were a handful of people with children, but I wouldn't recommend this for families with young children. The food was excellent. We had their signature bread with dips, mussels, a charcuterie board, drinks, and a variety of pasta entrees. The bread was divine, but needed a little more bread for the amount of dips we got. I had Bucatini with shrimp for dinner and it had a wonderful silky texture. The service was solid on a crowded Saturday night. The waiter was helpful, and was able to make some good recommendations so we didn't end up with too much food. The portions are reasonable, but not overly generous. I was the only person, out of four, who didn't finish the entree. We will absolutely be back! Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 3/5 (it was an expensive meal)

Good food served well in rustic setting. Caesar salad was adequate for 2 diners and the pasta and bread were outstanding.

This spot is absolutely adorable prime date night material. We kicked things off with the beef tartare. Flavor? Spot on. Texture? A little too minced for our taste borderline mushy, but honestly, I'd still order it again. Next up, yellowfin tuna. Solid dish, and that sauce? Chef's kiss. Now, let's talk about the oysters. They were on the special menu that night, and WOW... bangers. As an oyster fanatic, I can confirm they did these Rockefellers right. For the main, this seafood lover went for the Mediterranean dorade picatta. Perfectly seasoned, crispy skin. Then came the Cacio e Pepe. A simple, classic Italian dish. Was it life changing? No. Was it creamy enough? Also no. My partner thought it was okay, but as a non-pasta person, it just didn't do it for me. Big shoutout to our waiter, who was on top of everything by keeping our space clean, ensuring we were set for each dish, just top-tier service. We ordered everything at once, and the whole experience was smooth, professional, and paired with the perfect warm, intimate lighting. Definitely worth a visit!

    Eggplant Milanese

I've been to this restaurant twice, and both times it was outstanding! On this outing, we ordered eggplant milanese, porcini campanelle, dorade, crispy potatoes, and tiramisu budino. Everything was delicious and truly memorable. This is a perfect place for a date night or special occasion. Service was great as well.

    Piatta and Favetta

Very enjoyable dinner. The staff and restaurant itself are very welcoming. There appears to be at least 3 different rooms where you can dine. We ate in the main room next to sliding glass doors that open into maybe a private dining area. The menu looks very interesting and varied. We really enjoyed the Piatta (homemade bread with sea salt) along with the Favetta (Fava bean purée, crème fraiche and pickled shallots). The Grilled Porchetta (pork) belly with broccoli rabe was delicious as well as different. I'm not usually a fan of salads one way or another but the Shaved Tuscan Kale salad was amazing. For our entrees we had 2 of the pastas that had tastes from both ends of the spectrum. The Spaghetti Chitarra (Octopus) with spicy salsa verde was very good but a little on the oily side for my taste. The Sweet Corn Cappellacci (little bonnets with sweet corn filling) was delicious but almost tasted like a dessert. We were given a Vanilla Gelato with a candle in it to celebrate our anniversary - an appreciated touch for the end of our meal. With such an interesting menu we will definitely be back.

My goodness, I really need to get back to Tresini. I attended a friend's baby shower and the menu had curated great food options from the apps, to the salad, main plates and sides. I love a ricotta with honey drizzle. I also really enjoyed the chicken and waffles. Those crispy fingerling potatoes were seasoned perfectly. The servers and staff did an great job during the event. I am due to go back for dinner at Tresini.

We were seated and our server, Joanne gave us a quick rundown on the menu. She was very attentive and personable. Our party of four ordered the pork sandwich, the shrimp BLT, deviled eggs, the pepperoni flat bread, the meatball skillet, shrimp cocktail and French onion soup. The sandwiches were excellent and were served with perfectly cooked shoestring fries. The soup was great - plenty of cheese & bread topping delicious broth & caramelized onions. Joanne was correct when she told us the shrimp cocktail was "elevated". The grilled shrimp were marinated and perfectly seasoned. The flatbread was good, topped with a drizzle of hot honey. The deviled eggs were yummy but I would rather the bacon on top didn't have a maple flavor to it. The meatball skillet was served with toasted bread slices, hearty marinara and dollops of ricotta. The meatballs were a little dry but we enjoyed it anyway. We will definitely plan on coming back to The Fort to try new items and for another pork sandwich. Great spot!

Most familiar places were closed, it being Monday so we took to Google to see what our options were. We just wanted burgers. Nothing fancy. We got seated right away and got to peruse the menu. Simple and to.the point. More than reasonable prices for how excellent the food is. Nothing over $20 on the menu. Seriously. I got the maple bbq burger. Now, the only note I have is the bacon could've been crispier. Other than that, it was juicy, full of flavor, cooked perfectly and all elements worked in harmony. The bbq sauce wasn't too sweet or ketchup-y like some and the maple bacon was YUM. My mom got the cheese burger with cooper sharp and it was heavenly. The tomatoes were just bursting with flavor. The decor is geared towards music. We had an old pic of Sonny & Cher with Bob Dylan. It was hard to look at given how changed Cher is from her um... enhancements. The ceiling is covered with old concert.posters & it was a hoot picking all of the ones I LURVE out (old Bowie poster.from the 70s to start). There are TV screens EVERYWHERE with ALL current games showing. I could watch a baseball game while the.flyers were hopefully beating Pittsburgh.(Sorry to all da burgh fans) Just a fun place for great food & drink. Let's break it down: Location: 5/5 Vibe / Atmosphere: 4/5 Beer Selection: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 2/5 Takeout: 3/5 On paper, this place should be a home run. Great location. Solid sports bar energy. Rock-and-roll decor, good music, and it's a perfectly fine spot to catch Monday Night Football or grab beers with friends. The staff generally does a good job, and the beer list is one of the better ones in the area. But the food is the weak link and unfortunately, it's a big one. The food is consistently below average. It's not terrible, but it's disappointing, especially given the prices. This is a place where you're better off ordering apps, feeding the kids, or just sticking to drinks. If this is your one night out for the week or the month, you're probably leaving wishing you'd gone somewhere else. The menu itself is broad, I don't want to say everything here is "mid," but I've tried a wide range of items: salads, turkey burger, tacos, bowls, wings... and the only consistently safe bets seem to be the appetizers or fried foods. For a lot of people, that's probably fine, but those are the items I try to stay away from, which makes the menu tougher to navigate. Maybe there's a standout dish I haven't tried yet, but I shouldn't have to hunt for something good. Takeout is another mixed bag. Every time I've tried ordering online, it looks like it's working...until it doesn't. Checkout fails, and I end up having to call in my order to a noisy bar. Once the order is placed, things usually go smoothly, but they should fix it or put up a notice before wasting your time customizing an order for 8 people. What really bugs me about Pour House is that it occupies a prime spot in the local restaurant scene. It feels like it blocks better sports bar concepts from opening because, technically, "that spot is already taken." But it's a mismatch. They need to pick a lane, either: -Lower the prices and lean into classic bar food, or -Keep the prices and raise the food quality a full notch or two Right now, it's stuck in the middle and that's why it lands at three stars. So close to being great, but not quite there.

If none of those appeal to you, your only alternative is to choose a pasta with a standard sugo (tomato sauce). There are also a couple of sandwich options, but those are limited as well. There's little to no flexibility--if it's not on the menu, they're not likely to accommodate substitutions or custom requests. That said, the two young men I encountered were both professional and not snarky at all in relaying the limitations. It was what it was. I went with rigatoni in sugo, topped with grated Parmesan. The pasta was excellent--perfectly al dente, and the sauce had great flavor and consistency. Authentic and well-prepared. That said, the downsides are hard to ignore. The portion was relatively small, and with a bottle of Italian soda, the total came to $22.58--closer to $30 with tip. There's also no complimentary bread. Focaccia is available for $5, but it didn't look particularly appealing (a bit dark and overly crisp), though I didn't try it. Pros: * Delicious, authentic Italian pasta * Perfect texture and well-balanced sauce * Clean, attractive trattoria setting Cons: * Very limited menu (pasta and a few sandwiches) * No customization or flexibility * Price feels high for the portion size * No complimentary bread Overall, a tasty experience, but the limited menu and value may not work for everyone.
