What a nice experience. Food was wonderful from the lobster bisque, which my husband and I both enjoyed, to the rack of lamb with cherry sauce to the beautifully prepared branzino. Vegetables were perfect and a nice assortment. We also had 2 amazing desserts. The best part of the evening was the thoughtful waitstaff. Didn't expect such a nice restaurant in a small plaza. The recommended mushroom/spinach/crab chunk appetizer, lobster bisque soup, sea bass surprise special, Po Le penne, every dish is carefully prepared and served. This was our first time at this small family run eatery, our experience was awesome! Food and service were both top notch and there is a very homey and welcoming feel that makes even first timers feel like regulars. All of the menu items we sampled were excellent. Here is what we tried: the Trio salad, Prosciutto wrapped figs, Pasta primavera and Duck ragu pappardelle. The Creme Brulé ricotta cake was also to die for (don't skip the homemade deserts). They seem like a nice family running this business in a little strip mall. It's bizarre. When entering it looks like a tiny pizza joint including exposed kitchen at the far end. The menu is wonderful and the prices high for the lack of ambiance, but not high for the deliciousness of the cuisine. Our server was friendly and knowledgable, but wearing a t-shirt and camouflage cargo pants. One of our meals arrived prepared incorrectly and our fish entree had a very long hair cooked-into the fillet. Yuck. Stopped eating the fish and asked for the bill which they brought, minus the fish entree with the hair. I just ate dinner here for the first time after reading the great reviews about it. The service was amazing, our server was very friendly and attentive, but that won't be enough for me to visit again. Although the food wasn't bad, it was nowhere good enough or special enough to justify the high prices. I had their pasta special which was fettuccine with shrimp, crabmeat, and tomatoes in a white wine sauce for $48. There were 4 shrimp and about a tablespoon of crabmeat in it, and it was a simple, plain dish that you could get at many other local Italian restaurants for half the price that tastes just as good or better. Another person with us had the gnocchi in gorgonzola sauce, it cost $36, no meat or anything else in it. My family used to make homemade gnocchi pasta, it is very inexpensive to make, and gorgonzola cheese is not expensive enough to justify that price! I eat at Italian restaurants often and I grew up in an Italian restaurant owned by relatives, and Italian food can be made inexpensively and be delicious at the same time. Even adding 4 shrimp to a pasta dish shouldn't raise the price to $48. read more

I ordered a seafood ravioli with the soft-shell crab appetizer. The crab was crispy and savory; except, it was only half a crab, and it would be even better whole. The seafood ravioli broth was just delightful, light, creamy and aromatic. There was a good amount of scallops and shrimp and the ravioli was chewy and delicious (I wish there were more!) The family who owns this restaurant is kind . The head chef even came to greet everyone and hand out free cookies which were just as beautiful as the rest of the dinner, and we chatted about his recipes and experience cooking. This is one of those tucked back in a corner of a non descript strip mall like gem! You basically can't get seated without a resie and mind you the reservations fill up FAST! Definitely plan ahead! I would say there's about 10 -12 tables available (a mix of mainly 2 & 4 tops). While we were there there was a big round table of 8. The art on the wall was kind of all over the place and my bf chalked it up to this place being "fusion". The staff was very nice and given how busy they were ... not as attentive but that's ok the food made up for it! We started off w/two specials for the night prosciutto wrapped figs and a bowl of lobster bisque. The figs were to die for and the server was nice enough to put them on separate plates as we mentioned we were sharing. I had high hopes for the lobster bisque but was left quite on the fence. Mind you the taste was fantastic but if I'm having soup I like it to be hot. IMO this could have been hotter. My bf liked it just fine but he (also unlike me) doesn't drink his coffee piping hot! I had my eye zeroed in on the duck pappardelle and he ordered the rack of lamb which I so knew he would! OMGggg can I just tell you the delicious smell that wafted by as the server was placing the dish down in front of me - he's lucky he didn't lose an arm! I couldn't wait to taste it and boy was I a happy camper that it was piping hot!!! Another pet peeve of mine is my pasta better be HOT (temperature wise). The sheets of pasta rags were so light and silky you could tell immediately that it was homemade another bonus there for sure!!! I'm all about fresh pasta! Ok onto the lamb as you will be able to gauge by the picture below they we're perfectly cooked and wow the cherry sauce that they were served with was delish! While we normally do share we kept to our respective dishes sharing a lil here n there! Lol but I knew he really enjoyed his lamb so I only opted for a bite or two. Ok so something I'm remiss about on most my reviews is this a date night, birthday and/or anniversary type of place - absolutely! Plus bonus it's a BYOB. Rationale for the 4 stars: the temp of the soup, then sadly the bread that was brought to the table was seemingly not freshly baked and prepped earlier so it felt like it had been sitting out. The service is great! very friendly hostess, servers, and the chef even came out to check in on all the tables which was so sweet! We enjoyed the bread basket, calamari was fresh and delicious (not bread-y at all! perfect), seafood linguine w/ marinara sauce was *chefs kiss*, my boyfriend ordered the fettucine primavera, and his mom ordered the chicken piccata.
