Authentic Greek food has officially arrived in Lansdale, and Mikonos Greek Restaurant is off to a fantastic start. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality felt genuine and the food backed it up. The tableside Saganaki Flambé was a showstopper. Watching the cheese flamed tableside gets everyone's attention, but the best part is how good it tastes. Rich, salty, and packed with flavor. The Saganaki Shrimp was another standout, with shrimp in a tomato, garlic, and wine sauce topped with feta. Comfort food with serious flavor. We also tried the Pikilia Thalassina seafood platter, which featured calamari, shrimp, and octopus. Everything was fresh, clean, and cooked with confidence. For dessert, the Galaktoboureko was outstanding. Sweet, creamy, flaky, and the perfect way to end the meal. Very nice family Greek restaurant, clean and the service was excellent, seriously couldn't have been more pleasant and attentive. I ordered a traditional gyro and it was wonderful great taste with fresh ingredients and great cold yogurt sauce, the fries were fresh, crispy nicely seasoned. Also had a very nice piece of baklava. Just 2 negatives, the pita was not fresh, it was warmed on the grill as it should be but it was a bit dry and crispy, a bit stale. Not warm and soft as it should be. And another smallish thing, I like ketchup on my fries, they provide cheap food service non-branded ketchup which I find bland and runny. Heinz or another top brand would have been perfect. I'd have gladly paid a $1 more for good ketchup. Other than those two things it could have easily been 5 stars. read more

Our 1/2 Greek family was excited to see this place open earlier this year. Today was our third takeout experience. We've also eaten in their dining room once. First two takeouts were positive. Orders were accurate, food was good and was ready in the quoted amount of time. Spanakopita stood out as our favorite. Lamb with orzo was reeeeeellly tasty. Third experience was dine-in. We were so pleased the first two times, we brought some other family with us. Kitchen was busy and not keeping up. Took us 1.5 hours to get our food. Wouldn't be bad if they served wine or a snack plate or something or offered refills on soft drinks. Food wasn't as good this time either. Fourth time was takeout. We had a pretty simple order of 4 items. Quoted 45 mins over phone. Got there and waited another 45 before food was ready. Meanwhile, no communication from staff about order status. Ordered Spanakopita entree for $20 but got a small piece that is a rip-off at that price. Got side of lemon potatoes for $6, which was basically one potato. It was tasty but also overpriced. While the food is decent with some items being really good...it is poorly run. They need someone to come in and help with the operational / business side. Customer service, order expediting, kitchen management, etc need serious help. We want to like this place. I hope someone at Mykonos reads this. We wish them well, but probably won't be back. read more

Went several weeks ago on a Thursday. Was told takeout would take 20 minutes and we waited 45 minutes. The hummus was delicious and the rest was not! All the food was tasteless. The fried calamari looked barely cooked and was sitting in oil- no crust on them. A beef gyro had meat that was so tough it was unchewable. The triple sampler was dried out and tasteless. Was pleasantly surprised with how good everything was! At first I balked at $20 gyro platter but it was delicious. It came with shockingly delightful lemon herb potatoes; they really looked boring as hell but first bite and I was in love. The pita was great and the gyro meat what you'd expect. We've since also had a few of the specialty meals and truly enjoyed every bite. Everything was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service is also great, all family run. We recently moved back to Lansdale and looked forward to trying all the new restaurants that have opened in the area. Greek has always been a favorite of ours, something we couldn't get in Lancaster, so we were excited to try Mykonos. Mykonos recently opened on Broad Street, taking over a building that used to house a favorite Italian restaurant, so the old-world interior is charming. I love it when a restaurant focuses on the nuances, and Mykonos didn't disappoint. For our appetizer, they ignited a plate of cheese into an open fire, dazzling the table. For a Friday night, the food came out fast: a full array of appetizers then entrees for nine people. The staff was kind, courtesy and fast. It's also a BYOB, which we love and helps the price. My lamb was tender and seasoned well, and we really loved the desert. My wife and I look forward to returning soon. read more

So... I guess that means that you can't call ahead for orders? I don't believe you are going to do a lot of lunch business this way! Holy Moly!!! FANTASTIC PLACE. Great food, great service. This is real greek food. I loved my lamb dish with orzo (Giovetsi Tsi Gastras). They give BIG portions, which I love. I'm a big eater! Fresh ingredients. The greek salad was cut fresh!!! The Tzatziki sauce is fresh and clearly homemade. Delicious homemade baklava, which comes in BIG pieces. This place is a real find!!! Nice decor! Finally, a local sit-down Greek restaurant in the area. The setting is comforting and the food terrific! Where else can you get grilled octopus like this? The platters and soups were also first rate. Excellent home cooked greek fare in new lansdale addition. Started lunch with a delicious bowl of avgolemeno soup. Pork souvlaki platter was well seasoned and man those greek potatoes are perfect. A half chicken special ($18) was flavorful moist and tender and substantial. Galaktoboureko was version more similar to a light bread pudding than the custard forward version we are used to but still tasty. BYOB a great plus. Still working a few minor kinks out with wait staff, service and register but patience was rewarded with excellent taste and value in today's crazy restaurant world. Atmosphere is cozy, casual and nicely heated despite single digit temps. Will return to try other offerings as food on other tables looked solid. Definitely a great new addition to the area after the loss of the greek restaurant on main street awhile back. read more

New Greek restaurant in Lansdale. Definitely a neighborhood vibe. Excellent food - we started with an appetizer that was served flambé-style. Entreé was a medley of authentic Greek foods. Mouth watering. No matter what you order, the lemon potatoes are a must. Owner is engaging and intimately involved with everything that's on the menu. Waitstaff was available but not overbearing.
