We ordered the baba ghanoush for an appetizer and it came with pita bread. Very delicious!! Thin for an entrée, we both ordered a chicken Shawarma! It was very delicious and fresh and the chicken was fresh, cooked to perfection and lovely flavor!! We ordered the strawberry mint lemonade and a regular mint lemonade drink. Falafel is something I crave once in a blue, and today, I remembered Bishos was walking distance from my house. I had never been there before. I decided to order the viral crispy falafel for myself and a viral crispy chicken shawarma combo for my fiancé from Bishos. I placed my order at 4:06 PM online and walked into the store 20 minutes later. It still wasn't ready so I sat down and enjoyed the lovely ambiance inside. Plenty of seating for customers, an area for photo ops and dates and water for those participating in Ramadan were just some of the perks I noticed. The employees appeared to have been speaking Spanish and they were all friendly with one another. It's clean and airy inside. I definitely want to come back and sit down for a meal. Prices were fair - about $34 for a combo meal (with fries and drink) and my falafel wrap. That includes a service fee and a 10% tip. 15 more minutes had gone by and the woman behind the counter brought my food to me packaged tight inside a brown paper bag. When I arrived at home, that first bite into the viral crispy falafel was unreal. It was so pleasing to hear the crunch, but most importantly, it tasted amazing. The falafel was fresh and so were the other ingredients. My fiancé got the combo with French fries and I can confirm the fries are crispy and seasoned very well. Shawarma bread burnt , the tablet they have don't even have the same options as the one the customers use. they was being hella cheap, there was like literally maybe 2 pc of meat on there. I lifted 1 nacho and all this hardened cheese was stuck to it. Under that was basically straight chips no type of anything on it. I got none of the toppings i ordered in my sandwich, no diced tomatoes, like 3 pcs of fries in the whole thing and the meat was hard. Amazing food. Tried the Viral Crispy Shawarma (Chicken) and I can see why everyone raved about it. Ginormous and so delicious. I also got the combo: One Kifta Kabab, One Chicken Kabab, & One Lamb Chop. Everything was charred & seasoned to perfection. Loved that they put it on a wrap base to avoid spilling/leakage; Allowed me to turn my leftovers into a sandwich. Everything reheated amazingly and possibly even better the next day. Removed one Star because they forgot to send me my full Family Special (3 Medium Apps); I received the Fries but not the Hummus & Baba Gannouj. Stopped in here on a Friday early evening for dinner. You order at the counter and then they call you when your order is ready. I thought the prices were very good for the portions you got. I enjoyed a hummus bowl that had veggies in it and falafel. I got a meal so i picked a salad and a bottle of water to go with it. There was so much food! My boyfriend liked his dinner as well! Stopped in here twice for recent lunches. On-street parking was easily found right up front. The staff was much livelier on my second visit. First time it didn't seem like anyone wanted to be bothered. Second time, I had smiles and at least a thank you! The inside was not crowded, but there were people coming in for take out and a few other diners besides myself. The table situation is spread out pretty good and there is Arabic music playing softly in the dining area. I'd call ahead if you're in a rush. The wait was about ten minutes on both trips. I went with Shawarma both times, the first was chicken second was a mix of lamb and beef. It is a big portion so I went sans fries on the second trip. The Saj bread was huge, but thin and fresh and it kept the wraps together extremely well. The meat was finely cut up and lightly seasoned. Both wraps included cucumber, tomato, tahini/garlic sauce and a side of shatta hot sauce (think red chili sauce). I thought both wraps were good, but a tad too heavy on the tahini sauce. Nothing bad, nothing great. Might have to go Kabab over rice and have some hummus on a future visit and report back. Prices were decent overall. read more

Unacceptable service. I waited over 30 minutes for my food while my friend, who ordered after me, got his first. To make it worse, other customers who came in after us were being served before I was. I asked about my order and was told they'd "get to it soon," with no apology or explanation. After waiting even longer, my friend had to say something again, and that's when the cashier finally realized I was still waiting. At that point, I was already fed up and ready to ask for a refund. I was then told they would "push my order to be done faster," which honestly made no sense. If that was an option, it should've happened much earlier instead of serving everyone else first. The apology eventually came, but it was way too late and didn't fix anything. I ended up not even taking the food because the whole experience left such a bad taste. I'm not that well versed in Middle Eastern cuisine but I have had The Halal Guys before so I kind of had an idea of what I would be getting at Bisho's. My co worker happens to love Chicken Shawarma so she ordered this from Bisho's and shared some with me. It was very good and the portion was huge. I placed an order of my own a few days later. I went with the Beef/Lamb Rice Bowl and got the recommended toppings except onions. These toppings included tomato, cucumber, lettuce and some kind of pickled vegetable I could not identify. All of this was topped with a Tahini sauce and I think it was this sauce that ruined the dish for me. I should have done some homework or asked for the sauce on the side. I guess I thought because it was white it would be akin to the Halal Guys famous white sauce but it was not that at all. It tasted sour to me and unappealing. Because they give a generous portion I shared the rest with my mom. I also don't think I like lamb and beef mixed together either. I would definitely try them again but I would stick with the chicken and whatever sauce comes with that. I also got the babagnooj and understood that it was eggplant which I like baked in the oven so I thought this would not be bad. It wasn't bad but I was not prepared for the amount of garlic. So much so that I could not eat any more of it for my lunch because I feared having to speak to customers with that on my breath. Bishos continues to provide excellent food at a reasonable cost. I've tried all the vegetarian dishes, and they're all great! The hummus is rich, and creamy . The baba ghanoush is redolent with garlic and olive oil, as opposed to be heavily laden with tahini. The foul is very flavorful and packed with protein. The cheese, Za'atar bread is kind of like a Middle Eastern quesadilla containing cheese, and za'atar seasoning on their delicious saj bread. I prefer the chicken kebab to the chicken Shawarma. The kebab is well seasoned and the grilling gives it extra flavor. All their entrées are available as a wrap, over rice, as a hoagie, or on a salad. You get to choose six additional toppings. I love the toum(garlic sauce) & amba(sweet curry sauce) and then add four more vegetables. My only issue with that is they don't really give you enough toppings. The falafel is very well seasoned but a little dry. Strangely, it's not available in a pita, but you can get it as a wrap or anything else mentioned above. The food is always impeccably fresh & is halal. Customer service(especially the dark haired girl with the glasses) is outstanding! If you order direct from their website you will receive either five dollar off or 10% off coupons pretty frequently. I usually get it to go, but there is seating available inside. Bishos used to be one of my favorites but, not anymore. I've ordered the chicken kabab salad bowl pretty frequently for two years with pickles, cucumbers, turnip and cabbage. Tonight it came with drastically less lettuce (typically comes with about 3 cups of lettuce, tonight was 1/2 cup) 3 pickles, no cucumbers, and a few turnips. I called to find out what happened and was offered no remedy. They just said they ran out of cucumbers and these are the amounts the managers want them to use. I don't know if there if there has been a change in management recently but, unfortunately I will no longer be eating here and I would advise you do the same. read more

This was new I usually love to get the lemonana which is a lemon mint slushy and super yummy but it was so cold on opening day. I ordered the chicken shawarma saj wrap probably 30 minutes before it was closing but I called in advance to make sure they were still taking orders and luckily they still were! When I went to pick it up, I believe I talked to the owner and she was so sweet and gave me extra sauces as well. Their food is very reasonably priced for the portions you get. The food is very good and very affordable. When I saw pitas for 75 cents, I assumed that was the price for a small wedge. Nope. I ended up with six full pitas. Bishos is a hidden gem of NE Philly. Everything about the place, service, and food was amazing. The food was reasonably priced. Everything we got costed less than 40$. The majority of people there were ordering take out but they have a couple of dine in options as well (booth seats, single tables, or window seating). We ordered in the front and then took a seat waiting for our order (which came out in less than 10 minutes even with them being pretty busy). We got the lamb shawarma wrap, kifta kebab wrap combo with Lemonana (3$ extra since the combo typically comes with soda) and the personal special (3 personal size apps with pita). The saj wrap and the kifta kebab wrap was so good. The meat was flavorful but didn't feel overpowering or too much because of the fresh veggies and pickle. The seasoned fries were amazing, crispy outside and hot and soft insides (what more can you ask for from fries). The size of the personal special was enough for two people to finish with extras. The hummus was good. The baba gannouj was savory with a hint of sweetness. What made the Arab Salad shine was the dressing (olive oil, lemon juice, and something else). It was really strong. Still good and refreshing but just a bit too acidic for my taste. The Lemonana wasn't too sweet, a nice palate cleanser. I would highly recommend if you like minty things. The location is good, there was free parking on the street however, this is the first place that I've experienced that doesn't serve falafel in a pita. The falafel is served as a hoagie or on a wrap (neither of which I am a fan of). The wrap was soggy and doughy and falafel tasted like it was sitting.
