They serve healthy and flavorful wraps. I ordered mine for delivery. The time in transit likely affected the texture but overall it was a pretty good lunch. I will say the pomegranate sauce may be better for dark meats or with a cream sauce. I got it for my chicken breast wrap. Otherwise ingredients were fresh and well cooked.

Being cheap on meat , cheese , and no type of toppings at all.

Dude , don't believe anything on the internet. today i found out it's all bs. Shawarma bread burnt , the tablet they have don't even have the same options as the one the customers use. they was being hella cheap, there was like literally maybe 2 pc of meat on there. I lifted 1 nacho and all this hardened cheese was stuck to it. Under that was basically straight chips no type of anything on it. I got none of the toppings i ordered in my sandwich, no diced tomatoes, like 3 pcs of fries in the whole thing and the meat was hard. Basically threw 42$ in the trash very disappointing. -------------- Edited ------------------- My stomach hurts.

WAS a Crispy Shawarma Cheesesteak (Chicken)

The crispy chicken cheesesteak shawarma was that good that it didn't even make it for me to take a picture. Will definitely be coming back again

Stopped in here on a Friday early evening for dinner. You order at the counter and then they call you when your order is ready. I thought the prices were very good for the portions you got. I enjoyed a hummus bowl that had veggies in it and falafel. I got a meal so i picked a salad and a bottle of water to go with it. There was so much food! My boyfriend liked his dinner as well! The restaurant looked fairly new. Nicely decorated and clean. I will be back for another hummus bowl!

Stopped in here twice for recent lunches. On-street parking was easily found right up front. The staff was much livelier on my second visit. First time it didn't seem like anyone wanted to be bothered. Second time, I had smiles and at least a thank you! The inside was not crowded, but there were people coming in for take out and a few other diners besides myself. The table situation is spread out pretty good and there is Arabic music playing softly in the dining area. I'd call ahead if you're in a rush. The wait was about ten minutes on both trips. I went with Shawarma both times, the first was chicken second was a mix of lamb and beef. It is a big portion so I went sans fries on the second trip. The Saj bread was huge, but thin and fresh and it kept the wraps together extremely well. The meat was finely cut up and lightly seasoned. Both wraps included cucumber, tomato, tahini/garlic sauce and a side of shatta hot sauce (think red chili sauce). I thought both wraps were good, but a tad too heavy on the tahini sauce. Nothing bad, nothing great. Might have to go Kabab over rice and have some hummus on a future visit and report back. Prices were decent overall.

Food was delicious! Fries were very crispy and the wraps were properly seasoned. We really enjoyed what we ordered & would definitely go back! After satisfying your salty craving, you can head over next door to Le Souk for a sweet treat. My only qualm with the place is that I had to wait quite a while for this order, despite the restaurant being empty. Will be returning!

I'm not that well versed in Middle Eastern cuisine but I have had The Halal Guys before so I kind of had an idea of what I would be getting at Bisho's. My co worker happens to love Chicken Shawarma so she ordered this from Bisho's and shared some with me. It was very good and the portion was huge. I placed an order of my own a few days later. I went with the Beef/Lamb Rice Bowl and got the recommended toppings except onions. These toppings included tomato, cucumber, lettuce and some kind of pickled vegetable I could not identify. All of this was topped with a Tahini sauce and I think it was this sauce that ruined the dish for me. I should have done some homework or asked for the sauce on the side. I guess I thought because it was white it would be akin to the Halal Guys famous white sauce but it was not that at all. It tasted sour to me and unappealing. Because they give a generous portion I shared the rest with my mom. I also don't think I like lamb and beef mixed together either. I would definitely try them again but I would stick with the chicken and whatever sauce comes with that. I also got the babagnooj and understood that it was eggplant which I like baked in the oven so I thought this would not be bad. It wasn't bad but I was not prepared for the amount of garlic. So much so that I could not eat any more of it for my lunch because I feared having to speak to customers with that on my breath. This was the type of garlic saturation that gets in your pores.

Chicken Shawarma, over rice with falafel, baba ghanoush, and a side of tahini

Bishos continues to provide excellent food at a reasonable cost. I've tried all the vegetarian dishes, and they're all great! The hummus is rich, and creamy . The baba ghanoush is redolent with garlic and olive oil, as opposed to be heavily laden with tahini. The foul is very flavorful and packed with protein. The cheese, Za'atar bread is kind of like a Middle Eastern quesadilla containing cheese, and za'atar seasoning on their delicious saj bread. I prefer the chicken kebab to the chicken Shawarma. The kebab is well seasoned and the grilling gives it extra flavor. All their entrées are available as a wrap, over rice, as a hoagie, or on a salad. You get to choose six additional toppings. I love the toum(garlic sauce) & amba(sweet curry sauce) and then add four more vegetables. My only issue with that is they don't really give you enough toppings. The falafel is very well seasoned but a little dry. Strangely, it's not available in a pita, but you can get it as a wrap or anything else mentioned above. The food is always impeccably fresh & is halal. Customer service(especially the dark haired girl with the glasses) is outstanding! If you order direct from their website you will receive either five dollar off or 10% off coupons pretty frequently. I usually get it to go, but there is seating available inside. Be sure to check out their Le Souk market for desserts and all types of Middle Eastern spices grains, snacks, etc. review of that to follow.

Flavor wise, it was smokey and the pomegranate added a nice pop of acidity and freshness. The olive oil drizzled on top was also very good. The pita was fresh and warm and had pieces that were a little more charred which was great. Cauliflower sandwich- it is more of a wrap vs traditional sandwich. I liked how thin the wrap was. The cauliflower was very seasoned and cumin-y. I wish there was more pickled cabbage. The fries were thicker but it wasn't dry inside. They were also doused in zaatar seasoning and fantastic. Would get just the fries as a side or the whole thing again! Lahm bi-ajeen man'oushe- like a very flat, crispy pita with meat and tomato and pickles on top. There are some stellar, multidimensional reviews of Zahav on this site - for example, Bunker B's…read moremagnificent contribution.. I urge you to read that for an comprehensive, informed description of Zahav's place in the culinary scene. Here I offer a more quotidian review, with the emphasis on practical tips. I am going to cut to the chase: the pomegranate lamb shoulder is the stuff dreams are made of. Tender and tart. Accompanied by sides that are a work of art in themselves: fluffy Persian rice with a perfect crust. Greens with the right amount of sweet and sour to balance the other two components. The composed dish beautifully thought out and executed. And a little extra pickle just in case. Zahav has commissioned a red wine specifically to accompany the lamb, so be sure to order the Galia Dabouki if you get the lamb. Now for some practical suggestions: unless you have a hearty appetite, do not attempt the four-course menu. You will fill yourself on hummus, salads and dips and mezze, and by the time you get to the star of the show - the pomegranate lamb shoulder - you will barely have room for more than a few bites. I suggest you go a la carte, and pick wisely from the first two courses. I am even going to be heretical and suggest you skip the hummus. Yes, I know Zahav's hummus is famous. Maybe you can pick some up at Whole Foods to eat at a different time. Even the salatim - as masterful as they are - have by now been reproduced at other Israeli restaurants that have caught up to Zahav's Israeli avant garde. So if you ask me: pick from the mezze list and go on to the lamb. And about getting reservations: if you are a planner, go ahead and snag a reservation by going online exactly four weeks in advance as the website explains. But if you want to be more spontaneous, you can get a seat at the bar as a walk-in. You do need to arrive early for that. The day we were there - a weeknight in July - the line started to form a little before 5pm, that is, a little before the restaurant's opening time. Everyone in the line at that time got to be seated, and there were still plenty of spots that only gradually filled up. No doubt on the weekend you would need to get in line a bit earlier, but it is entirely possible to do this without an advance reservation. So now I am looking forward to taking my own advice. I am plotting my return, and going in for the star of the show, the hell with opening acts.

The chicken was the biggest letdown of the night it was tender but lacked flavor. The beef kebab, on the other hand, was juicy, well-seasoned, and easily the better choice. Oddly enough, the French fries ended up being the best thing we ate all night. They were perfectly crispy and honestly some of the best fries I've had in Philly. Dessert was another disappointment. For a restaurant at this price point, having only two soft-serve ice cream desserts felt lazy and like an afterthought. Overall, the food wasn't bad, but nothing besides the fries and beef kebab really stood out or made me want to come back. That was a bit stressful for me as the host of this surprise party. I hate wasting food and we wasted food. He also pushed two desserts on me on top of the free dessert he offered for free. Thankfully I cancelled them in time. The free dessert was just okay. Nice touch for photos but we barely touched it. Overall would be back. Just know that the service is a bit pushy on ordering more than you need

This time around we ordered many menu items to share once again. I definitely recommend this method with the way this menu is written! Trying both meat and seafood dishes, we have come to the conclusion that Almyra seems to do better with seafood than meat dishes, though this is not to say the meat dishes are bad. For dessert, my brother got the Budino again and my dad got the Baklava. The Baklava was unfortunately dry and hard, so while this is a classic Greek dessert I would opt for another dessert here. The dessert was made special, however, complete with a "Happy Birthday" design on the plate and a sparkler for my dad. The service was once again excellent. Our waitress was very attentive, upbeat, and helpful. Lastly, having come in the winter last time the restaurant was busy, but slightly more toned down. On this summer Saturday night the restaurant was very loud, which made it hard to hear conversation. This is a small thing, but something to keep in mind if you are looking for a more intimate dinner! We will definitely be back to Almyra again! I recommend giving Almyra a try and don't forget to order the Horta!
