    Baingan Bharta

Sooooo stinking good, we enjoyed absolutely everything. We got the chili chicken, vegetable samosas, and cauliflower kerala to start. For our meals, we had the baingan bharta, butter chicken, pumpkin curry, and chicken kerala pepper. We will DEFINITELY be back. Oh, and the service was top tier! Everyone in the restaurant was very kind.

Gurmeet and the entire team at Lasaan are doing an outstanding job. The food and service are excellent, complemented by a great ambiance. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic North Indian cuisine.

At the crossroads of quality and quantity. The summit of Indian food in the Philadelphia Suburbs/Main Line areas. This was my second time enjoying food for Lassan and my first time taking out. On both occasions I ordered the Kale Saag Paneer, cheese kulcha, and the chicken tikka tacos. All were beautifully presented and I couldn't imagine them tasting any better. I ordered mild heat as I'm not much of a spice person. You don't need heat though to enjoy these flavorful dishes, though. This will be an ongoing dining staple for my wife and I for the foreseeable future.

Tasty. I was surprised. Git a indian style taco. Ambience wasn't bad. Hopefully more people show.

We are still blown away by the amazing food quality and the lovely server who always genuinely treats us like we are family members, after having only met us twice! Even though it has been over 1 month since our first trip to New Era (I live in Manhattan and my partner resides in Phila), our server remembered everything we had told her about our food preferences and other friendly details shared with her. Our typical order is the Aloo Gobi, Chicken Chettinad, and naan. The food is always generously served piping hot, the chicken is fresh and tender, and the very flavorful curries are not watered down. The naan could not have been fresher; we immediately requested a 2nd order of naan after taking one bite of the pillowy goodness. It was as soft as a cloud. The kheer was sweet and creamy - simply expertly made just like the curries and naan. The chef here is absoutely incredible. He may have been the very kind gentleman that waved to us on our way out. Anyway, New Era Plymouth Meeting is one of Philly's best kept secret and now our top choice for Indian cuisine. We nearly walked into the place for a 2nd day in a row last night bc we were craving the curries again and all the genuine kindness. Don't let the modest appearance of New Era, Plymouth Meeting fool you. There is magic going on inside in terms of the food and service. Also, the interior is so clean and comfortable. Even the lighting is calming. We feel like we are being served in our kitchen by close friends. After regularly dining in various top Indian restuarants in Manhattan, the District and throughout the U.S. for over 20 years, I still wouldn't even hesitate to say that New Era has some of the best food, not to mention the friendliest and hardworking server and a fabulous menu! We can't wait to return!

Service was pretty brief, but helpful, and we were able to order and get our food fairly quickly! The order for four: - Chicken tikka masala-- the benchmark. - Lamb vindaloo-- the craving. - Vegetable korma-- veggies to balance things out. - Cheese and peshawari naan. - Two mango lassis. Flavors are on-point here! Portions seemed a bit small, but we were definitely completely stuffed by the time we were through, and we cleaned off everything, including the leftover sauce on the bottoms of our bowls with our naan. Peshawari naan was a pleasant surprise! Good sweet and slightly nutty flavor complemented a lot of the dishes that we got. Meat is tender and they are pretty generous with the quantities of meat compared to other Indian places I've visited in the past. Mango lassis were also decent-- nothing to wow about, but solid, and a good way to finish off the meal after all the flavor bombing from the other dishes. Ambience is simple and there's not a lot of room for large groups here. Indoor and outdoor is available, but just expect a simple homey environment and nothing too fancy!

The sauces that accompanied our butter chicken, chicken korma, and samosas were layered, complex, and unlike anything I've had before. The staff expertly guided us on spice levels, and the service throughout the meal was excellent. From the outside the restaurant may seem unassuming, but don't let that fool you. This place is more than worth the visit, and I'll be returning very soon.
