So this was among the best Indian food I've ever had. I had the Chicken Tikka with rice and garlic Naan. Chicken came with the veggies. I ordered mild and it's still had a kick. Waiter was a nice local guy. Service was good, and the place is clean and on the little main at type area. Decorated kinda hip This place is a A+ read more

Blue Taj - Indian Near Me - Ambler, Pennsylvania

My review is based on the takeout we ordered. This place is located in downtown ambler so finding parking could be a pain but it's not as bad as the city. The portion size and the pick up time was good. We had a misunderstanding with the naan order so we ordered way more than we needed but it was good overall. We ordered couple spicy dishes but they weren't as spicy as we hoped and it lacked a little bit of flavor but overall, we had a good experience read more

This restaurant is one of our favorites! Great food served in a clean and cozy setting. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Blue Taj is easily the best Indian food in all of Montgomery County. The hospitality is also unmatched. I feel like I've genuinely grown to like their food but even more so I've grown to like their people. I find myself craving their food all the time I find myself craving the hospitality all the time I went to a different Indian restaurant and it was horrible. This place genuinely has set my expectations so high that no other Indian food can come close. read more

What went well. Amazing malai kofta. Creamy, smooth and accompanied by great grilled garlic naan. Mango lassi was thicker and flavorful-I had to take one to go after my meal! Great service, calm, quiet and polite. Ambience was nice with low level music Thank you read more

If you're craving authentic Indian food, look no further--Blue Taj is the place to go! The restaurant has a lovely Indian-inspired décor and smells amazing the moment you walk in. The food was absolutely incredible. I ordered the goat curry, goat korma, and lamb chops--all bursting with flavor. I also got the mixed appetizer, along with both garlic and traditional naan to make the meal extra satisfying. Every bite was delicious, and the prices were very fair. Highly recommend! read more

Blue Taj catered Christmas lunch for us and they were great. The food was delicious and they were very easy to work with. Highly recommend.

Best Indian food I've found in this area I'm so happy we took a chance on take out tonight. Everything was flavorful and high quality. Loved the aloo gobi and the garlic naan. Good job!! read more

My wife and I popped over to Ambler last Tuesday. After grabbing a 4-pack from Forrest & Main, we made our first visit to Blue Taj. We enjoy Indian food though we don't seek out super spicey dishes, so we always have to navigate Indian dishes carefully. The staff was wonderful, they checked in on preferred spice levels and recommended the appetizer sampler. The appetizers were all wonderful, most importantly, they were light, leaving plenty of room for our heavier main dishes. Since it was our first visit we went with the standards, chicken tikka masala for her and butter chicken for me and some garlic naan. The naan was fresh, light, and fluffy. Both main dishes were wonderful, the chicken was tender and the sauces fabulous. We look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu. Check them out if you're nearby. read more

Having had food here a couple more times, I am glad to say that it remains excellent. As someone who likes spicy food & often isn't able to get things spicy enough to my liking, I love that this isn't an issue for Blue Taj. And the second time I did get jeera rice! I've only gotten takeout so far though--sometime I'll have to actually dine in. read more

We have been to Blue Taj a number of times. It's very convenient to combine with seeing a show at the Ambler theater. The food is really quite excellent (and we eat in many Indian restaurants) and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Tandoori chicken, kormas and saags, and malai kofta are among our favorites, but they have the full range Indian menu. If you sign up to receive texts from them, they send out discount coupons occasionally, too. read more

Better than most places in the area if you're stuck and ordering in the suburbs. Portions are noticeably smaller, but maybe that's intentional when ordering delivery through apps. read more

Came her multiple times and really like the food and service. Try their samosa, butter chicken, and lamb vandaloo. Great service also. read more

This is the best Indian food in the area. We enjoyed both our apps and our entrees. Service was excellent. They do a great take out business as witnessed by the number of people who came in to pick up as we were eating in. read more

We were in the mood for Indian food, and Blue Taj did not disappoint! The restaurant is quaint and has only about 10-12 tables. It is BYOB as well. We enjoyed our mixed appetizer, malai kofta (always a favorite, but this sauce was extra creamy and luscious!), chicken vindaloo, and two types of naan--garlic and bullet naan. Nothing was overly spicy, but just the right amount of spice. Prices were reasonable. We would definitely return! read more

We have eaten here several times the food has always been delicious. We have Indian friends and they say it's very authentic

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, my husband and I went to the Blue Taj Restaurant to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. This has become a tradition with us. As usual the food was EXCELLENT, as was the service and the ambiance. We will definitely be back!! Anyone who enjoys authentic Indian food will enjoy this restaurant. Go!! I'm certain you will be pleased with whatever you choose to eat there. read more

Food was good but our spice leveled got switched and our daughter's food took forever to redo. The chicken was really tender.

What a surprise to have such authentic panjabi food spot in Ambler! This place is owned by the Palace of Asia team. Ive been going to this place for 10+ years. I would highly recommend stopping in and giving this place a try and remember it's BYOB. I always start with some papadum and pakoras. The spice level of all the dishes can be adjusted from mild to hot. I prefer Indian spicy with extra garlic and ginger. The saag (spinach) dishes are a staple for me whether the protein is paneer, chicken or lamb. The chicken tikka masala is a must have for my children. This can be made quite mild. The other dish they enjoy is the tandoori chicken tikka and the malai kebab. The malai chicken is a white grilled chicken that is moist and flavorful without the fire you'd expect from a typical tandoori dish. On the Tandoori (grilled) side of the menu I love the tandoori salmon and shrimp. The bhindi (okra), Gobi Manchurian, tadka daal on the vegetarian side of the menu are my favorites. I'm a carnivore at heart and my go to is the goat curry with roti bread. My friends like the garlic naan with the goat or Rogan josh. The curry is nice a thick not like some other places where it's too watery. read more

What a nice addition to Ambler. I was not certain that we needed yet another Indian restaurant in our town, but I'm very impressed. The atmosphere is bright, clean and elegant. The menu is full of your standard Indian dishes, but everything was delicious and well executed. We had Papri Chaat, Baingan Bharta, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Biryani, Mango Lassi. Everything we ordered was well made and the Baingan Bharta was some of the best I've had locally. My husband was excited to see goat on the menu (he'll have to order that another time!). One important point- the spice levels are very high. I normally order medium spice and the waitress suggested that I order mild. It was still fairly hot! Even the mild dish made me sweat a little. It was very tasty, but be forewarned if you prefer mild spice and ask your server their recommendations for the more mild dishes. Besides the food, I do think it was the service that gives this restaurant five stars. It was a very polished yet friendly service. And extremely attentive. Combine the service with the beautiful atmosphere, it really elevated the whole meal from your standard local BYOB. read more

Amazing food! Love the ambiance plus it's in Ambler which has become a fun place to go.

A good Indian restaurant can be a challenge to find. Well, we found a great place on a stop by Ambler. Yummy pakora, sag paneer, yellow dal, and fantastic onion naan! Reasonably priced with a great wait staff and owner. read more

Had takeout once and was underwhelmed - probably would've given a 3-star review for the food. Not bad, not great. Definitely better Indian food out there. Went again today to give an in-person try a chance. Glad I used the bathroom before I sat down to order because a freaking COCKROACH *fell* on me. (shudder) Let them know and noped on outta there. read more

My sister and I had lunch here recently and loved the food, the service, and the ambiance. GO, if you're wondering!! You'll be glad.

Went for a weekday lunch with a friend and I would urge anyone who likes Indian food to go. Both myself and my friend thoroughly enjoyed the yummy, fresh tasting lunch We will return! read more

I love Indian food and have eaten at all of them in the area. I've been a big fan of Aman's Bistro and also like Kurinji. Blue Taj is AMAZING! We loved the food and we had great service. The restaurant accepted a reservation, which I highly recommend on a busy night (we went on a Saturday). Table was ready for us as soon as we walked in. As the place is small, the tables are close together and a bit noisy, but the delicious food and service will make you forget that, quickly. We really enjoyed our Chicken Tikka Masala, Dal Makhani and garlic naan. They were very accommodating as neither my son nor I can eat cilantro. We loved our meal and will be going back soon and often! read more

This was one of the best Indian meals we have had in ages! The food was delicious - flavorful (spice level was customizable) and wonderfully prepared. We had the lamb samosas, butter chicken, and the malai kofta (all fantastic) and perfect garlic naan. The service was great and the dining room was simple but lovely. Hands down the best Indian food we've had in Philly! We loved it!! read more

Made a reservation for saturday night with my family to celebrate my father's birthday. When we arrived it was clear that they had given away our table for 7 people to another family. The waiter even asked that family if he could move them and they declined. The restaurant ended up seating us in another area that was quite small and cramped. Service was poor. We had to continuously request refills of water, silverware, plates. Food was just okay. Some of the items that we ordered never arrived. The restaurant was clearly understaffed for the number of guests. Would not recommend. read more

My husband and I dined at Blue Taj this evening and were delightfully impressed. We already have some great options for Indian food in Ambler and wondered if we truly needed another. We were wrong! We definitely need Blue Taj. They are a welcomed addition to the burgeoning Ambler restaurant scene. The restaurant is very pretty and impeccably clean. We ordered the paratha, chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, and raita. Our server also brought us papadum at the start of our meal and kheer (rice pudding) at the end of our meal--both on the house. The food was as exceptional as the service. We can't wait to go back! read more

The portion sizes were good. A large amount of rice was supplied with the chicken tikka masala. Nans, very tasty nicely, packaged lots of garlic and spices. The curry was not as spicy as I was hoping we had the medium and it had no bite. It was tasty, and the left overs were great on toast the next morning. read more

We went to this new restaurant with great expectations as we like Indian food and went to most of them in the area. It was rather disappointing even relative to Nirvana which is sort of a chain. The papri chat had mostly fried dough and the Tandoori was bland did not come on the hot plate and the onions were an add on rather than part of the grill. Even the Raita was watery. The Naan was ok but overall not the quality of many other restaurants around Montgomery county. read more
