Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. We ordered the chicken corn soup, shrimp and chicken fried rice, chicken Seekh kebabs, and the chilli garlic chicken. Across the board, the food just wasn't well balanced. Everything leaned heavily on being way too salty, way too peppery, and way too greasy, which took away from what could've been a flavorful meal. The dishes didn't have the harmony you'd expect, especially given the hype. While the service and atmosphere were fine, the food itself missed the mark. For us, it's a one-time visit, and we don't see ourselves returning. There are simply better options in the area that deliver on both taste and quality. read more

Not what it used to be. However, upon reading other reviews it seems there is a new owner. Makes sense. Partner called to place an order and employee was quite rude. Said they no longer have an app that is on their website menu, not a third party, but did have it as entree . Food was ready quickly. When we came home portions considerably smaller, and prices higher than website. What i got as an entree is the same as what was the app size. Naan bread seriously undercooked. I visited this place during a short trip to the area. It's a simple place with simple ambiance, and food service. All the dishes I tried--paneer makhani, daal tadka, and baingan bharta--were excellent. Bread basket with plain naan, garlic naan and lachha paratha was good as well, though the naan's texture could have been a bit better. The kheer for dessert was phenomenal. It was rich, refreshing, and delicious, with just the right amount of sweetness. read more

My foray into Indian food expands. Indian food has never been my first, second, or third choice when deciding upon which cuisine to consume for any given meal however my girlfriend is breaking me out of this habit. We have ordered out from Masala Zone several times and I must say it sure feels healthier than ordering Chinese food and I feel better afterwards as well. For yesterday's order we went with Chicken Tikka Marsala (Cubes of chicken roasted in tandoor, then cooked with mildly spiced tomato gravy and Cream), Saag Paneer (Fresh spinach cooked with homemade cheese cubes and spices), and for the first time as I go nuts for anything eggplant, I tried the Began Bharta (Grilled eggplant pureed and cooked with tomatoes, onions and traditional spices). Saag Paneer - I freaking love this dish, and it's not really bad for you as it consists of spinach with homemade cheese cubes, yum. Began Bharta - A smokey taste to the eggplant which was pleasant however I do not think it pairs well with onions in the dish. I enjoyed trying but do not think I would order again anytime soon. Also, as I implied I am somewhat a newbie into the Indian Cuisine world but most of the dishes are mushy and not something you sink your tooth into, which means to me you either have to pair it constantly with rice or Naan Bread that are very carby. Well, either that or you can just drink down mushy meals.....yeah not for me but to each their own. Chicken Tikka Marsala - I may be being too critical here something that has been ingrained in me during early childhood, thank you Mom, my therapist thanks you for all the continued business. But.....just doesn't seem you get a ton of chicken with this entree. They throw in some peppers and chicken and a crap ton of sauce that fills the bowl to the brink. I mean its edible but I just can't get excited over it. In the end I think I have to be honest with myself and still would not put Indian food in my top three choices for lunch/dinner, but I appreciate the menu being very extensive and the food not making me feel sluggish and sick as American Chinese food tends to instill. They had Buffet prior to pandemic, it was great option for anyone that wants to try everything but does not know what to order. Now they are a la carte only. Restaurant: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 5/5 Parking: Free parking lot front and back ~Restaurant~ Restaurant has been through some renovation since we last visited, it has much more seating and looks more modern. Everything looks clean and organized. ~Service~ Even though they had some staff changes, the level of service is still the same. Very thorough and friendly service. ~Food~ I can't not say enough about how good the food is in this restaurant. Everything we ordered is fresh, and tasted great. We ordered some garlic naans, chicken biryani, samosa, butter chicken, goat curry and (A must have of mine) Tandoori chicken. We will definitely keep going back whenever we have an opportunity. We drove over 30 mins to come check this awesome place. Not surprised why this place got a seal of approval from my fellow yelpers. First of all, staff were awesome. I had a small talk with the owner, sweet guy. There's not much parking in the front of the restaurant but there are many parking spots in the back of the plaza. They offer weekend lunch buffet from 12-3p, $12.95 for adult and $6.99 for kids. They offer 6 veg and 6 non-veg dishes along with unlimited naan, puri (deep fried bread), apps and desserts. They also offer mango lassi with the buffet. Goat curry and tilapia 65 were my favorite. Also, mango pudding was to die for. Everything was fantastic. I'll def be back. read more

Unassuming Restaurant in a tiny strip mall. From the front if they're busy it looks like there is no way to park. But there's extra parking in the back. Great food with choices for everyone. The staff is friendly, accommodating and provided excellent service. They use both napkins and actual glasses for beverages. To me it seemed casual enough to go any time you're craving Indian but nice enough you could go for a "date night" too! Definitely will be back! read more

Very good. We love Indian food and orders it at least once a week. We love Kirinji, but wanted to try this place out because they have lamb roganjosh (Kirinji no longer has it.) We tried lamb roganjosh, saag paneer, and chicken Tikka marsala. All 3 were good and delicious. We will definitely come back for more! read more

Extending my Indian food buffet journey to the Philly suburbs! My friend works out there and figured a half day warrants a nice drive up and lunch there. Freshest naan i've had in a while, and it was free! So fluffy, you can tell they make it right when you walk in, and it's not overly greasy or hard. There's free mango lassi at the buffet, and there are a few indo-chinese options there as well. Chili chicken was sweet and spicy, and manchuria veggie balls were alright, but the real winners for me were the tikka masala, palak, and pakora, as usual. The pakora is flavorful, although it does get slightly chilled sitting on the buffet. I covered it in orange sauce and it was amazing. Goat curry and chicken curry were deliciously full of flavor, and the goat was fatty yet it fell right apart in my mouth. There is kheer (rice pudding) also, as well as a veggie fruit buffet and sauces to try. The price is amazing for what it is, though don't be too snooty about the pakora and samosas being a little cooled off-- it's a buffet! Id order my own dishes if I wanted the crispiest fried things, but the sauces, curries, and veggies at the buffet are pretty well flavored and stay hot. read more

Ordered a wide selection of foods delivered through Door dash. Everything arrived hot and wasn't sitting around. The butter chicken and tikka masala were both delicious with generous portions of chicken in each. The hot was a gradual spice that built but wasn't overwhelming. The rice was well cooked and was the perfect amount to accompany the dishes. The samosas were delicious and filled generously with plenty of veggies and potato. They were large in size as well making one each perfect for sharing. The naan was great as well - the cheese naan was arguable the "worst" but was still good, but was lacking in cheesiness. I recommend the spiced potato stuffed naan, perfect for dipping into leftover sauce or just eating on its own. read more

Always on point. It's always seasoned well. Dining in or taking out. Dine in it's so hot and fresh and yummy. The serve staff not always friendly however. That could be them on a bad day tho. Be like that. But the place is cozy. Lighting just right. Temperature good. But order it to go or order delivery and ya can't go wrong. Great vegetarian meals. My family and I went to visit my brother over the weekend. We chose Masala Zone for dinner and booked a reservation before going. The menu is pretty decent but some items were not available, such as the shaam savera. However, we ordered paneer burji, paneer makhani, chili paneer, and butter naan. The paneer burji is a homemade cottage cheese mashed & cooked with onions, tomatoes, & traditional spices. It was purely delicious and packed with fresh flavor. The paneer makhani is a silky butter & creamy sauce made with tomatoes, Indian spices, and butter with chunks of paneer. The gravy was thick and perfectly complemented the rice. The chili paneer was slightly disappointing because I didn't not expect a lot of sauce because it's usually served dry. But this dish was packed with huge chunks of bell peppers/onions and barely any paneer. The butter naan was soft and straight out of the tandoor, which made it more enjoyable to eat. Overall, not an amazing restaurant but the most decent around the area. Price is slightly higher as well. read more

I walked in and it was empty with no orders waiting. I was immediately worried but more than pleasantly surprised on the quality and taste of the food. The tomato soup was fabulous. One of the better soups I have had!! The chicken Tika Masala was very good although maybe spiced a bit too heavy. But it was good. The naan was great as well. This has been my go to restaurant for this cuisine since I moved here. The food is very tasty and flavorful and the portions are acceptable, if a bit pricey. Recently customer service has taken a nosedive, and it's sad to see in a restaurant with such good food. We order in through a variety of delivery services, and when there's an issue with the order, nearly every restaurant we deal with is quick to make sure they offer solutions. Not this one. We were missing several items from a pricey order and when we called their party line was "we put it in the bag, it's your problem". They were adamant that it wasn't their issue and we should "call the delivery person" - something that we all know isn't possible cause that's not how the services work. Instead we had to reorder the items, which mean an hour wait for the missing things while the things we already ordered got cold, and call the service for a refund - and we all know the customer is the one who loses money with delivery fees and tips in this kind of issue. Shitty customer service attitude for something that was entirely not our fault, but we get extra charges and a ruined dinner and the restaurant didn't give two shits. read more

I came to Masala Zone for lunch with a few coworkers and was very impressed by the buffet selection and quality. Most Indian buffets focus on one cuisine, but Masala Zone's had North Indian dishes, South Indian dishes, and Indochinese dishes. There was a good balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options as well. What impressed me the most was how well spiced all of the dishes were. Most buffets barely add spices to their dishes to please everyone, but the dishes at Masala Zone were all as flavorful as they would have been if my mom made them at home. For $10 a person, the buffet definitely gives you a bang for your buck. I was there on a weekday so it wasn't overly busy, but there was a long line to pay on our way out. Since you pay at the register, it is easy to split the check with everyone in your party because they will let you each pay for 1 adult buffet. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a delicious (and cheap) Indian lunch! read more

The Veggie Platter appetizer was mostly very good. The Vegetable Samosa and Aloo Tikki Chaat were great. A bit of spice to them and very enjoyable. The Pakora/Pokoda was a bit disappointing. I was expecting a more full and flavorful fried vegetable, not a flat chunk of what appeared to be shredded fried potato. The Butter Chicken was the biggest disappointment. The chicken was tough and ill-flavored. It reminded me of chicken that had been cooked, frozen and then reheated. The sauce had a OK flavor, but was not as flavorful as I have come to expect with this dish. The rice that came with it was very good. The second most disappointing thing was the breads. Both the Onion Kulcha and the Garlic Naan were not nearly crisp enough. They were almost soggy - as if they did not really cook them in a proper tandoori oven. Because I desired delivery service, I ordered through their affiliation with Toast. Toast has its own menu price which is higher (sometimes much higher) than the restaurant price. I do not like this business model which charges more per item than the restaurant, then charges a delivery fee and then, of course, I add a respectable tip. I may give them another try, but I will do take out and order something different in order to find what entrée they can do very well. read more
