Spent Easter dinner here & it was delicious. The ambiance was great and the service was excellent. 10/10 would come back & recommend.

This was my third time here but I have never done a review. On this warm summer evening, the place was rather empty but it also was quite early for dinner. We started with a Manyunk mule and a whiskey sour. We ordered plenty of apps: Hummus a la Saloncia, stuffed calamari (good, but should have gotten the fried), and the breaded zucchini. The latter was very good. Lightly breaded and thinly sliced. For the main course we had the special fish which was a whole bronzini with capers in olive oil and the sea bass with garlic, olive oil, wine, plated with potatoes and vegetables. Both were excellent but the bronzini was spectacular in every way. Just moist, perfectly seasoned, nice char, and succulent. Chef Konidaris, the genius behind all of these creations, came out to greet us when we arrived and again when we received our meals! Very kind and warm gentlemen! Great meal all around.

The food was exactly what we needed tasty bellies full and no need to go home to cook after shopping on Main Street. We sat outside this was our first time here the service was excellent. We were seated immediately and our server was pleasant. It was quiet afternoon we were able to converse without any interference. They even presented a special plate for the baby.

    Greek goodness!

Stopped in for Linner! IYKYK. Impeccable service, delectable food, and Chef Tom added the icing on the cake to make us feel like family. Allow yourself to be transported to Greece, embarking on amazing flavor and FUN entertainment!!! We will return!

    Beautiful fish and lighting

Came back t for dinner for our 5th anniversary. Amazing food. We got the hummus appetizer, he got the gnocchi gorgonzola, I got the Greek salad and sangria, and we had orange cake and baklava for dessert. Service was supreme, chef was very inviting and nice, and everyone made sure we had a great night. I don't typically like gorgonzola, but that gnocchi is delicious. One of my favorite restaurants

The server left trash on our table

I live in manayunk and had never tried zestys before, so my girlfriend and I wanted to try it out. We waited 45 minutes before our server even came up to us. Our drinks didn't come for another full hour. The staff seemed very busy in the servers were ignoring our table. Meanwhile, there was some sort of influencer or restaurant reviewer who kept taking videos of the restaurant. It was offputting. The food was pretty tasty though. I don't know if it was 100% worth the wait. The vibes were good inside and outside but wish the tables weren't so tightly packed together and the servers weren't running into us and each other.

I was initially skeptical of this place based off of pictures and reviews BUT I'm glad that I took my friends word! I love that they offer indoor and outdoor seating. They had live music playing which was great and could be heard outside. I LOVE the menus being rolled up and how they were presented. The service was great! Fast but not rushing and the server did a great job getting what we needed. We ordered the crab cakes and whole fish (Branzino). Both were so fresh tasting and delicious! I loved the natural crust from the pan searing on the crab cakes! We also had side salads which were also delicious. I got a side of Tzatziki and pita to go which were also Soo fresh!! I can't wait to go back!

Family and friends came here after a Christmas Concert at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter…read moreand Paul. We had great food and conversation. My family and I were last to arrive. It took a while for the waitstaff to get drink/appetizer orders to us once placed, but I think our large party was the issue and there was only minimal staff at the bar. My Greek Island Iced Tea was meh along with the Greek Cosmopolitan my wife got. The Greek beer and wines were nice to experience. At our table, there were many different dishes. The waitress advised they were out of one item on the vegetarian menu. My dad and his wife picked out others and did you know that a true Greek salad doesn't have lettuce? Our waitress told us that and my dad said that was true when they visited Greece. So they must know what's up! My family and I shared a combo cold appetizer which was several spreads (some spicy!) on pita of which we had to order more of. Only one of the spreads did we absolutely hate. They called it caviar but it was mayo in consistency and looks. The hummus was nice, tzatziki was loved, and the garlic potato was SUPER garlic. My main dish of octopus was quite nice and I wished was a bit larger. Octopus with lettuce tomato and onion in oil. Tasty. My wife and kid had lamb shank and lamb roast. Both were delicious and tender. My friends got the cheese on fire tableside and a lot of calamari which was also well liked. Our waitress was wonderful and on top of things. She was able to split the check three ways and got well deserved tips. The restaurant itself is a little cramped as it's in a former residence, but you can get around. If you're in the mood for Greek food, I don't think you'll go wrong at Zorba's Taverna. $180 including tax and tip for three adults. Two cocktails, a beer, tea, combo appetizer, three mains, and a dessert to go.

Spanakopita- INSANE. So flaky. Had a nice balance of spinach and feta. IOS chips- INCREDIBLE. Zucchini and eggplant chips, which were like tempura friends so it was light and airy. Beef and Lamb Flatbread- OMG. THIS BLEW ME AWAY. The meat was so well-seasoned. The spinach and Greek cheese suit the meat so well. The drizzle of sauce on table added on a layer of sweetness. Almyra - I happened to walk by it a few weeks ago, I didn't know it was there. I thought, 'looks very nice, I'll have to try it'. The restaurant, which features 'modern Greek' is part of the Estia Group, which includes 7 restaurants - 3 of which are in Philly (Estia and Pietro's are the other two). I went for dinner this evening on a Wednesday, and there was a good crowd - the restaurant is quite large, and it's decorated beautifully. I started with three of the Spreads - Smoked Eggplant, Beet, and Hummus. It was wonderful trying these 3 - I spread them on the pita and crispy rice crackers - and tried them separately - spoonful by spoonful, to really taste the differences. The Edamame Hummus has a unique flavor and texture with tahini and garlic. The Beet features roasted beets blended with labneh and garlic and topped with pistachio and feta. The Smoked Eggplant with peppers and balsamic rounds out the 3 with a deep, smoky flavor and a soft, smooth texture. I always look for 'classic' Spanakopita these days, but rarely find it. The dish at Almyra was labeled 'Spanakopita Manti' - I asked my server, what that was. She said it was a favorite of hers, a fried 'flower shaped' pastry filled with blended spinach and feta, served with tzatziki and leeks. I ordered them and they were heavenly - lightly battered, crispy fried 'flowers', with a creamy spinach center, that tasted exactly like spanakopita should. I dipped every bite in the creamy tzatziki and thoroughly enjoyed the appetizer! While pork is the most popular meat in Greece, lamb is a dish served on special occasions and holidays. I 'discovered' lamb in Greece, as I hadn't ordered it that often when I would go out to eat....specifically the lamb chop. Almyra has a great lamb chop! It's seared on the grill - and I do mean seared - the deep char definitely adds to the flavor. The 3 large chops are Australian lamb, herb marinated for days highlighting the flavor of the meat. They are seasoned with sea salt, cracked pepper and olive oil for a tender finish. I like my meat pink inside - not red or rare. Cooking lamb chops medium to medium well is no small feat, yet the meat was cooked exactly the way I liked. They were tender and very juicy. These chops may have been some of the thickest I've had - and I made the 'mistake' of trying to eat them with a fork and knife. Wrong! If you order chops, you 'MUST PICK THEM UP' and eat them! What a difference!! The meat just came right off the bone and it enhanced both the texture and flavor! I'm not sure why eating them off the bone was so different, but I can't emphasize it enough - and, it's a lot more fun! Part of the treat when you order ribs are the 'layered potato fries' you get with them! These aren't your ordinary fries, in fact, they're really not fries - they are little potato masterpieces! The fries are prepared by thinly slicing potatoes and layering them to create a multi layered texture that rocks! They are truly a savory, rich side dish to the lamb chops! After such an epic dinner, I had to order dessert, and the Olive Oil cake immediately caught my eye. It was a two layered cake with a creamy custard like center and a citrus orange topping. It was light and moist, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla gelato resting on a bed of ground pistachio nuts! It was delicious and a wonderful ending to a great meal!

They asked her politely to remove and she explained. All good. They then came back three times and several times pointed at our table. The last time the bouncer scoffed when we explained. Not cool.

Recently, I was having a quick afternoon meet-up with some friends. Coffee is pretty OK, but the selection of Greek pastries and food is pretty wide. I've had the food before, which I found to be just OK, but the pastries (esp. the spanakopita) was spot on and delicious. I had some non-coffee drinks recently, and they were good enough to feel refreshed, but nothing to phone home about. Lots of seating here, but usually a lot of it is taken by Drexel student groups working. Back room has a lot more but is also strangely dim, so I'd honestly have a hard time if I was found to be working back there. Front seating though is nice with the natural lighting! For some reason they were blasting music today at a level that made it difficult to work even through AirPods. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something about Greek cafes in particular, but it wasn't the greatest environment. Service is always prompt. I've found it to not always be the friendliest but they get the job done. Late hours are a plus amongst cafes in U-City, so I'll still stop by.
