Lamb gyro and fries
Ben L.

This place is excellent! It is a hole in the wall Middle Eastern spot that has reasonably priced food, great gyros and amazing fries. When I went, it was take out only and the neighborhood was not great around the restaurant, but the food was on point it was very reasonably priced. I got the #28 lamb gyro with fries and a drink. Gyro was very good, a little too much sauce in my personal opinion but I just used a napkin to wipe a little away. The fries were really good with a good crisp when you bite into them. Highly recommend this spot.

Don't judge by the outside look. This little hole in the wall is great. They have a large menu above the register. I asked for some help, and the young man behind the counter recommended the 21. It has chicken, peppers, onions, and rice. The amount of food was enough for two. The smell was good. I watched the cook making magic as he cooked the food. I opened the Styrofoam container and couldn't wait to dig in. The first taste was nice. The food was hot and had really good flavor. The cook and the young man were both very nice. I will returned

Chicken & falafel shshlik

Great small hole in the wall place that sells yummy and affordable to-go Mediterranean food. Though the environment is very simple and plain and seating is limited, the food is tasty and service is quick. You simply order on the counter and get your drinks/deserts/other refrigerated food items from the fridge, and they'll call you when your food is ready! My boyfriend who has a strong aversion to cilantro was still able to enjoy the food. They serve the shshlik with half cilantro rice and half brown rice but the spices of the overall dish made the cilantro manageable for my partner. Great place to pick up a meal on the way home from work!

We found this no frills, small kabob restaurant off the highway on one of our road trips to DC when we pulled over for gas. If you know about kabob spots, you know little spots like this pack that flavor! We decided on the Chicken Tika and Beef Kofta With rice as well as the Chicken Tika which wasn't on the menu but they were kind enough to accommodate since the wife doesn't eat beef. Our meals were wonderful, as expected. The spices were perfect and our dishes came with two different types of rice. The most memorable to me was the cilantro rice. As a Latina who loves cilantro, I've never had rice like this. It was sooo flavorful!! Overall, the service and food were delish!! We'll always stop here on our trips if we pass through Delaware.

Super fast and yummy kebab and love the shashlik as well. Sometimes they have okra as a side and that's so good!

Tasty rise, juicy meat. No restroom. Small room. Complicated to find. Good place to take out, not to eat inside.

Plenty of room . Excellent food. Good wait staff . Reasonable price. The only negative is finding parking near the restaurant.

This is my go to Kabob and Gyro place. Nothing fancy but the food is always freshly prepared and the value is there.

Great service and even greater food. Love this place. I try to make it a point to pass by here when I drive either back or from NY/NJ.

I'm providing this honest review as a constructive feedback for improvement…read more We came across this place online but were only able to try it recently...I was honestly disappointed by many things: First, when a place advertises shawarma meat and posts videos of the famous Lebanese shawarma revolving cone that grills the marinated meat as the cone turns, you would expect that the shawarma plate you order is an authentic shawarma meat cut off the shawarma cone...unfortunately, this was not the case at cafe baladi. I respect the owner who's advertising authentic homemade Lebanese food but the shawarma meat we got was not an authentic shawarma meat...this was meat that was cooked either in a pan or in the oven and was not tender because it was not probably marinated and it's not grilled on the shawarma cone. Placed that have the famous shawarma cone you can usually see in the restaurant either behind the counter or through a window in the back - this was not the case. Second the plate included the choice of hummus or baba ghannouj and tabbouleh...we picked baba ghannouj and we got the tabbouleh...again, the baba ghannouj did not taste at all authentic nor homemade...it tasted like the baba ghannouj in a conserved can that you find in grocery stores. Authentic baba ghannouj is made from grilled eggplant tahini lemon juice and salt. Third, the Lebanese tabboule is made from finely chopped vegetables (parsley, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, and burgul). Unfortunately again this tabbouleh was not finely chopped and it lacked the burgul. We were really disappointed. The only positive thing was that the service was quick.

Greatly enjoyed a lovely set-menu Lebanese dinner at Li Beirut. The dining room is lovely and, when…read morefull, energetic, though the service is both attentive and low key. You can feel that it's family-owned-and-operated. The 3-course set menu was great--we had three in our dinner party, so we automatically received 8 mezze + paper-thin pita (refilled without asking when the staff saw we were running low) to share, we each picked 1 of 10 entrees, and each chose 1 of 3 desserts for the final course. Some of the mezze (all delicious!): fattoush salad, hummus, baba ghannouj, labne, mouhamara, warak enab bel zeit, soujouk, batata harra. I had the Mixed Grill for One, which allowed me to try the Shish Taouk (grilled marinated chicken with special garlic sauce), Shish Kebab (grilled marinated filet mignon), Lamb Chop with grilled onion, tomato, jalapeño, roasted potatoes. And for dessert, I chose the cotton candy (halva floss) ice cream with pistachios (another diner had the rose water milk pudding)--both desserts had great flavor in the toppings, but little flavor in the ice cream/pudding. P.S. BYOB + a wine list, if you're so inclined.

Well I seated immediately as this was a Tuesday night. Crowd seemed local. I ordered the haleema with fig and Samke Hara a braised fish dish. The cheese with fig jam was seasoned well with a nice char. It was delicious. Well when the Samke Hara arrived I was ready. And I wasn't disappointed. The pilaf was tender, and the fish was ever so delicately prepared. It was like butter. Alhumdulillah. Enjoy.
