Local deli that is in a great location. I ordered the Kim's sandwich which consist of a tomato wrap with chicken tenders, ranch, shredded lettuce and tomatoes. The wrap was refreshing and had fresh ingredients. Prices were decent for what you got. Pretty good but wished the wrap was bigger. Would be interested to try other sandwiches here especially since they are not far from us! read more

I've lived around the corner my whole life but never stopped inside until today. The sandwiches here are very good. The prices are higher than what you would expect from Wawa, but the portions (12 inch) are bigger and the quality is better than what you would expect from a deli. We got the mushroom cheesesteak, Italian with prosciutto, and turkey tornado. Turkey tornado is a must have for honey mustard lovers! I will be back for sure! I really went just to support a local business and get an egg sandwich but then I saw the pepster on the menu board. The pepster is very tasty but it is not a $12 cheesesteak. At $12 it needs to be bigger and/or have the very tasty sauce mixed with the meat better. Or a nice sesame seed roll. Or at least a pickle and chips. Watch the video, dry meat on top, tasty sauce on the bottom, for $12 you should mix them together for me and give me a nice seeded roll. Awesome cheesesteaks and subs. My go-tos are the pepster, which is a cheesesteak with cappicola and sweet peppers and the italian sub with prosciutto. Breakfast sandwiches are also great. I usually get the emergency room, which is a cheesesteak with eggs and sweet peppers. They close early, 3pm so plan accordingly. Call in your order cause they do get busy during peak breakfast and lunch times and wait times can get long. But it's always worth it. I prefer this place to cappriotis and its better than any cheesesteak I've had in philly and I've tried them all. read more

A small spot on foulk road but a true gem. They make the best sandwiches and hoagies! At this point, Pickles & Chips kids the only place I'll go to in Wilmington, Delaware for subs. Everything is fresh and delicious. The staff is always accommodating and very nice. Their fries are ridiculously good. And the prices are just right - a large sub, around $10, feeds 2 easily. They're better for takeout than dining-in, as there are only a few tables. And they are seldom actually ready in the 10-15 minutes they claim over the phone. Don't let that worry you - it's worth the wait. If you're thinking Capriotti's is the only game in town, you gotta give P&C a try. read more

Funny thing - I got all the way to Philly to get a cheese steak. Tried the tourist traps Geno's and Pat's (which are by far the WORST cheese steaks in the world), some small hole-in-the-wall place that was recommended and some other place at Redding Terminal. Guess what? NONE OF THEM COMPARE! Kevin at Pickles will make you the best damn cheese steak you will ever have. By far - with cheese wiz and all if you like it that way. We have had food delivered from here a few times. The Blue Hen is really good but The Barnyard is way to salty to the point almost inedible. The French fries and cheeseburgers are good. But every time I have called to place an order the never have the lobster crab soup. I have tried the hot chili not that great. I feel they are a little pricey $12 for a specialty sandwich seems like a lot to me. The food is hit or miss. It's always something with this place. Most of the employees are rude. Their website says: "We Deliver!" In huge letters, but they never seem to have a driver available. And don't ever ask for a breakfast sandwich if it's even close to 10am or 11am, depending on the day they stop serving breakfast when they feel like it. I went to pickles and chips and bought a sub & a large bag of chips. Paid for my food and as I turned to leave the young guy that waited on me yelled behind me "You're Welcome " . He should have been thanking me for patronizing the store so he can have a job! Yet he wants me to thank Him for making me a sandwich that I paid for. ‍ I will not go there again! Order on the phone, because ordering in store is the same: you place your order, sit there, realize twenty minutes has gone by, walk to the counter and your sandwich is ready or it will be ready in five minutes. Once in a while this works in your favor, and the owner gives you your sandwich for free, but doesn't do much to offset the frustration of the time before and the time before that where they forgot your sandwich or just didn't tell you it's ready. I have been on a Yelping hiatus. I was inspired to come out of hibernation today due to my Pickles & Chips lunch. This is the 5th time I have ordered from them. 4 out of 5 times I have experienced rude customer service, a snarky delivery driver, and the wrong order. I am not picky by any means. I have never sent a wrong meal back in a restaraunt and I've never been rude because I follow the, "don't mess with the people who mess with your food" rule. To top it off, I always tip at least 20%. To sum all that up: I'm a food pushover. Maybe I shouldn't be so nice. Every time the food arrives it is cold. Not even luke warm. But cold upon arrival over an hour later. Every time I call I have to ask for a total and every time I get a huff and puff over it. What if the price has gone up and my menu doesn't reflect it? It's happened before! Today, I called to place an order for three co-workers. Each time I started to give the order I was made fun of before I could finish. "1 egg salad sandwhich please on.." ..."yeah? on what? you want me to plop it on a plate or do you want bread?" With each sandwhich I ordered fries. Each time I was interrupted. "Did you get the order of fries with that last sandwich?" ..."yeah what else do you want?" "Can I have the total please?" "uggghhh" Jesus, sorry I asked. Well an hour and twenty minutes later the driver shows up. "I called you and you didn't answer." ..."sorry I came out front to wait for you so you wouldn't have to wait around in the lobby..." Nothing but attitude. On top of it the total was $2.25 more than I was told. I didn't say anything. The fries were also missing. So I called back and told them they didn't add all three orders of fries that I asked for. They call me back 20 minutes later and ask if I actually want to order and pay for one more order of fries. I told them never mind and hung up. Never again. Sometimes businesses feel that when their food is good enough they can act like an a**hole. Well not to me. This isn't Seinfeld and you aren't the Soup Nazi. If deliveries are a hassle--don't offer deliveries. Real disappointed Pickles & Chips. read more
