Heard a lot about this place, everyone's always says "you gotta check it out. " Today, after visiting for my first visit, I was less than impressed. I was seated right away near the bar and waited for someone to come to my table, no one touched my table for I want to say at least 7 minutes, as numerous employees walked around the area back and forth. (I was a server- general rule of thumb is touch the table in less than 2.) Then once I ordered, the food was fast but was not what I asked for, I asked for the meat to be on the side (vegetarian- taking it home for my bf- I'm already paying for it) but that was not respected. The problem was quickly mitigated but once getting the food I was also not impressed, I'm not quite sure why everyone hypes this place up. They also had no working AC? I feel bad for the servers and cooks in the back, it was hot enough as a customer!

Stopped in for lunch on a weekday. Was able to grab a parking spot in their lot, and though they were busy, we were seated right away. Seemed to be a local, regular crowd, all walks of life. Plenty of options on the menu, we went with a steak sandwich, pastrami sandwich, pierogies, mozzarella sticks and Mac and cheese. The only dish that wasn't great was the Mac and cheese, everything else was as expected or better. Was your typical old school diner inside-neon and stainless steel-we will definitely return. And the service was excellent!

Was looking for a diner in the area and was enticed by the photo of Goobers. Noticed some antique cars out back when we pulled in, which added to the charm. Inside was bright & clean with pops of red, giving a snazzy retro feel. We were sat at the counter because it was so busy, that was the only downside. But we left with full and happy bellies. I was pleasantly surprised with the open-faced crab melt that had real crab meat! At a diner! Wow. I was told everything is made from scratch at Goobers. I believe them and hope to come back and try other items on the menu.

Great experience. Staff were attentive and service was fast. Food came out in a timely manner and tasted great. Excellent diner if you are vegetarian, they have impossible sausage. Everything was good would highly recommend and will be back. also a cute place.

This is one of favorite diners in Wilmington. They serve turkey breakfast products, the corn beef hash is great and the desserts are delicious. Everything you want in diner style dining. Servers are always just the right amount of attentive and they even have the old school cars out front or in the garage next door to transport you back in time a bit.

Everything was delicious! I'd go back in a heartbeat...

So glad we found this place. The service and food were great. I left my glasses and when I went back the young woman was at the door with my glasses in hand.

Classic diner with great service! We come here regularly for brunch. The coffee isn't the best but the food is yummy!

Typical diner fare in a clean faux-retro atmosphere. Attentive service. Decent prices. Nostalgic feel. Quality food prep.

The chicken picatta was so, so good- just the right amount of lemony goodness. The Marsala was my husband's favorite- he's said it's some of the best he's had. My daughter said her veal was delicious. Get the cannoli- even if you don't normally like cannolis. My daughter loved her gooey snickerdoodle butter cake topped with ice cream. The decor and staff are everything you want in a family-owned Italian restaurant. There was Sinatra music playing and My Cousin Vinny on the TV - it was great. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It is a small restaurant with limited seating. If you are pressed, make a reservation. Don't go here, if you want quick, impersonal service. Street parking, just a heads up.

I tried the meatball appetizer - it was decent but not really anything special. For dinner I had the chicken parm in a blush sauce which came with a side of gnocchi and my dining partner had grandmas Sunday gravy, again both decent. We skipped dessert because it was a decent amount of food. The other thing I'll mention is you're going to want to make reservations if you go. The entire restaurant seats what seems like 30 people.

The walls are red with a black wainscoting paneling and framed pictures, sconces, and a small wine rack can be found on the red part of the wall. The ordering counter is also nearby and has a display case with pizza pies in it. We were immediately seated after arriving and ordered the following: Medium holiday veggie pizza, which has mushrooms, spinach, broccoli, ricotta, green peppers, and diced tomatoes. We didn't realize that the pizza didn't have red sauce but we still liked it. Hubs said that he needs to read the menu closer next time when ordering pizza. This wasn't the first time we accidentally got a no sauce pizza. LOL. Daughter and I shared Vongole, which is linguini tossed with 12-15 little neck clams with your choice of white or red sauce. She chose red sauce. We also got a choice of soup and she chose pasta fagioli. She liked the clams and said that the entree was nice and saucy. I prefer white clam sauce, though. So, I will try that next time. Fried calamari- calamari golden fried squid with side of homemade sauce. I liked that the calamari wasn't breaded. This is my favorite type of calamari. We should've ordered linguini on the side and this was Hubs' favorite dish of the night. The place filled up quickly after we arrived. Hubs had been wanting to try Italian food in Delaware. This place is located in a strip mall so there's plenty of parking. We were expecting it to be a fancy restaurant when we saw the exterior and were pleasantly surprised that it was a pizzeria. The place felt very homey and we loved it. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return when in the area to try other items on the menu!

Even though it was 20 minutes from my stay, I'm so glad I made the trek to Capricotti's because this sandwich SLAPS. The Bobbie is a Thanksgiving sandwich. I found the cranberry sauce to be significantly less sweet compared to other similar creations. This was perfect as it didn't overtake the other flavors. The turkey was delicious. It didn't have that weird, off taste that deli turkey sometimes has (IYKYK). The stuffing was wonderfully seasoned and delivered so much flavor. All these wonderful components combined deliver what I only can describe as heaven to my tastebuds. I ordered a medium (10 inches) and ate the entire thing in one sitting. The only thing that saddens me is I live 3000 miles away, so the likelihood of me experiencing this again is slim. I also hope I have the opportunity to try their other sandwiches because if this one was so amazing, I bet the others are equally as great. If you're a tourist, I cannot stress this enough: GO HERE. And get this sandwich. And others while you're at it.
