Really neat place. It's like a two story diner. It looks like a classic chrome diner though. I got an egg white omelette with mushroom mushrooms, feta spinach, wheat toast, home fries. Then I got a side of lox for some reason. I just really wanted it. I kept thinking this kind of looks like a strange breakfast. Whatever. It's $25. Half of that was unnecessary fish but it was really good. Then they bring you out two tiny donuts. They make these daily and man are they good. Glad they were tiny. I could see myself housing a lot of those if they let me back in the kitchen. They remind me of the old fashioned donuts that aren't super sugary. Then I think they put some cinnamon on them. LOVE this place and the eggs benedict florentine. When I get my car serviced at Honda up the street I stop here. The owner seems to be hands on. Heard a lot about this place, everyone's always says "you gotta check it out. " Today, after visiting for my first visit, I was less than impressed. I was seated right away near the bar and waited for someone to come to my table, no one touched my table for I want to say at least 7 minutes, as numerous employees walked around the area back and forth. (I was a server- general rule of thumb is touch the table in less than 2.) Then once I ordered, the food was fast but was not what I asked for, I asked for the meat to be on the side (vegetarian- taking it home for my bf- I'm already paying for it) but that was not respected. The problem was quickly mitigated but once getting the food I was also not impressed, I'm not quite sure why everyone hypes this place up. They also had no working AC? Stopped in for lunch on a weekday. Was able to grab a parking spot in their lot, and though they were busy, we were seated right away. Seemed to be a local, regular crowd, all walks of life. Plenty of options on the menu, we went with a steak sandwich, pastrami sandwich, pierogies, mozzarella sticks and Mac and cheese. Was looking for a diner in the area and was enticed by the photo of Goobers. Noticed some antique cars out back when we pulled in, which added to the charm. Inside was bright & clean with pops of red, giving a snazzy retro feel. We were sat at the counter because it was so busy, that was the only downside. But we left with full and happy bellies. I was pleasantly surprised with the open-faced crab melt that had real crab meat! At a diner! Wow. I was told everything is made from scratch at Goobers. My family was there yesterday, 9/20/25. We were celebrating my Mom's 94th birthday. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our waitress, the management serving our group along with other staff were awesome. They loved the retro style of the facility. My grandkids asked my son and daughter-in-law when can they come back! It was the 3rd time my husband & I have been to Goober's, the 2nd time for my Mom and the first time for the rest. We were a group of 9 and were seated upstairs. We will be back! Tried this place for the first time today and will be the last time. Was very disappointed in the small breakfast menu. Ordered a mushroom omelette with cheese, home fries with onions and scrapple. Food came out in a timely fashion however, everything was, COLD!! When our waitress, Melanie came to check on us, I asked to have hot food and she kindly replaced the home fries. Good dinner food and service is overall is good. The only complaint, Our table had an elderly person, who asked one of the staff for more water. They were repeatedly told to wait for the waitress. This was the only unsatisfactory service response from the staff. If we weren't finished with our meals and the individual decided to wait for our waitress we would have addressed it directly and differently with the manager. Good portion and good selection makes it the trip. The biscuits and gravy were perfect as were the over medium eggs and bacon. Well the bacon was thick cut and a touch salty but worked well with the other dishes. Pancakes were large and fluffy but they do charge for extras such as chocolate chips. But the prices are reasonable. We won't hold behavior of a single individual against the establishment. Everything we ordered and requested was hot and delicious. You can sit at the counter, the two seaters, booths or the large tables. It looks like a stereotypical classic diner from the movies. This is a great little restaurant for a typical morning breakfast. I had a veggie egg, white omelette and added a few extra veggies. It was delicious. Other people in my party had scrambled eggs and bacon with hashbrowns and sunny side up egg with bacon and hashbrowns, yet another one had a regular omelette of some sort that they loved . Only complaint is the toast was burnt. I was surprised they served it that way. The service was amazing. first time in a two story diner. It's so SHINY. Inventive menu. Partner had the silky chicken and slippery dumplings. Like an elevated PA Dutch pot pie. Tables have USB outlets to charge your phone. I got a slice of French toast $2.50. Dragging it through that chicken gravy was a bit of heaven. It was also pretty good with some syrup. I also had the apple and endive (Belgian) salad. I had a chicken steak sandwich and French fries. The French fries were very good, probably the best I've had in a long time. But my chicken steak sandwich was dry. It was so little meat, so few onions and mostly bread. The chicken itself was on the dry side. My husband had a breakfast sandwich he liked (I think avocado, bacon and egg. Atmosphere: If you are looking for a retro and fun diner, Goobers Diner is it. The outside is a big, metallic, retro-looking diner. It's unique in the fact that it has two floors that customers can sit at. I honestly can't remember if I've been to another diner with two floors. Inside is as retro as it comes with shiny red booths, the standard diner-style tables, a full-length bar, and a few tables too. There is also an outdoor seating area where you can sit by old-school cars. How fun. One thing to keep in mind about the outdoor seating is that they have transformed several parking spaces into seating, so there isn't a lot of parking at Goobers Diner. Food: Goobers Diner is open Sunday-Tuesday from 9-3 and Wednesday-Saturday from 7-9. Interesting they aren't open earlier on Sunday. Anyway, we arrived on a Wednesday for dinner. They serve breakfast all day and have several fun and unique lunch and dinner options. Ultimately we decided to get the buffalo chicken flatbread to start, and I got the chicken and waffles as my entree. The buffalo chicken flatbread was good. There was plenty of cheese as well as buffalo chicken. It had a kick but wasn't overwhelming, and you didn't feel like it was ever "too much." I was a big fan. The chicken and waffles were one of the better chicken and waffles I've had recently. It wasn't overpowering; the chicken was perfectly breaded, while the waffles weren't soggy. The amount of soggy waffles I've had recently (like LOL, the waffle kitchen) have been gross. Anyway, my chicken and waffles at Goobers Diner was great. My entire meal was great, and I was extremely pleased with my choice. Desert: I decided to order the confetti cake to go. It called my name when I saw it while walking in. The bright pink mousse and the fun confetti sprinkles told me to get it. I was happy with my selection when I brought it to our hotel. The cake tasted good, and the frosting and mousse were perfect. I could have used more frosting, but I can always use more frosting. Service: Our waitress was extremely friendly, and our food came out fast. We were in and out of Goobers Diner within 30 minutes. It was one of the fastest meals we've had. In all, it was perfect. Cost: $ The flatbread, chicken and waffles, and confetti cake cost $30. It was a lot of food, and I think of the Jax Diner in Napa, where the chicken and waffles were $30. Overall thoughts/Would I Come Back to Goobers Diner?
