Before heading over to my parents' place, we wanted to grab something to eat. Since we enjoyed the food last time and it has a good array of options to choose from, we headed here. Luckily we for there right before the larger Sunday breakfast/brunch - it was only like a 5 minute wait if that. But even with the influx of people we saw come in about 10 minutes after we were seated, they have a good process where it seemed like they were still able to seat those groups in reasonable time. We kept it simple this time ordering just one brunch drink and our individual entree. The portion and see if sizes are still very large - we both ended up taking our entrees home and had for a whole other meal later. My server and my dish was good. It was not over the top? Not Excellent it was adequate, for a diner and a strip mall. The atmosphere is busy / chic urban vibe. My only complaint is the fresh squeeze lemonade is not really fresh squeezed. It taste like country time lemonade( power mix) there was no pulp or anything in the freshly squeeze lemonade, but it was plenty sweet. I can tell you that. Everyone kept talking about this place and how great the food was. I had to check it out. We didn't have to wait for a seat, we got a booth as soon as we entered. Our server was excellent. The food was delicious! My friend had the mushroom burger and I had the banana walnut pancake , potatoes, ,turkey sausages, and eggs. My food was enough that I had it for breakfast the next day! The delivery of my dinner made my. mouth water ... onon rings over French fries with perfectly beer battered cod that proved to me that the folks in the kitchen know what they're doing (flaky and moist cod yum). My dining partner had a cheeseburger, which in my opinion was ho hum compared to my dinner but she said it was really good. Oh, the coleslaw was top notch too. I've been here several times and each time has been a great experience. The vibe in the restaurant is great - decor, music, etc. The only thing I will say is that maneuvering through the restaurant can get a little tight when it's crowded, but in no way would that keep me from going back. Food is AMAZING. Haven't ordered anything off the lunch/dinner part of the menu yet, but have tried the pancakes, french toast, eggs and most recently the crab benedict. The inside of this place is very long and narrow and is surprisingly cute compared the the rough shopping center and parking lot. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. They have a decent drink menu and the cocktails were very good. Urban Kitchen has a very large food menu ranging from breakfast to sandwhiches and even seafood. The portions are very large! The Shrimp platter came with a huge side salad and 2 sides. Unfortunately the broccoli was way over cooked and the mashed potatoes weren't that great. He took all our orders and didn't write anything down including all the options selected, and he didn't get anything wrong. I ordered the Mexican skillet with the avocado and salsa on the side. For some reason it came with toast (I don't usually eat toast), but I was glad I had it. It was very good bread. Wow! This place amazed me. It came recommended my hotel staff. To be in a store front plaza, it still felt spacious and had a super cool vibe.
