I came with a party of 7. We all enjoyed the beer selection and an appetizer special (the raw tuna on chips), but were also all underwhelmed by our entrees. I had a lot of trouble deciding what to eat tbh. Went with the grilled meatloaf. It was very sweet. I'd believe it if you told me some other people don't have a problem with it but it was like 50% too sweet for me. Also the meat in the meatloaf was very finely ground. like veal meatballs finely ground. possibly not an issue to others but i didn't love that. if it is a meat blend then that makes sense. wasn't a beefy, burger-y meatloaf. I was totally prepared to give Dorcea a 3 based on the slow service seating me, the long wait for a waitress, and the size of my wrap, but then it was so delicious, I couldn't (in good conscience) do that. My tequila based cocktail was very large and delicious. The catfish wrap is flavorful and not at all fishy. A lovely handheld. But the star of the evening? The ranch dressing. I've been here twice, and have been let down both times. I ordered the wasabi tuna bowl and the meatloaf. The wasabi tuna was not bad at all, but the wasabi sauce was nearly inedible. The meatloaf on the other hand was overly sweet and lacking real flavor. The service is a little slow, but the waiters have always been kind. This is definitely the place to go if you want a meal that looks nice, is priced well, and is completely tasteless. read more

I'm a big fan of several items on the Dorcea menu and generally find the restaurant to be very consistent when we've eaten there and done takeout. They have a great burger, delicious meatloaf, and the appetizers have all generally been tasty as well. The service is also generally very good and the owner is a really nice guy. I would love to see them make a few changes to the starters and maybe also change the entrees, but I might be mistaken that this has already happened. The portions were wonderful; my wife and I each had enough to take home and were FULL. We shared a cocktail (London Fog) which was excellent. Good option if you've not had it, but not as tasty as I thought it would be, although the asparagus and mashed potatoes were excellent. I was a little disappointed with the Maryland crab since it tasted more like pasta fagioli?!? Service was quick and good. interesting atmosphere. It's labeled as spicy, which it wasn't, but still the portion size and the taste was A+.....I asked for sweet potato fries and they were also a heaping full of sweet potato waffle fries and they were superb! We were all so pleased with our dishes. The chargrilled meatloaf was, hands down, the best meatloaf we have ever had!! So parking for this place is the opened lot at the corner. The restaurant has a few spots. I walked into the restaurant. Tv by the bar. This place is small but very nice. They have some tables and about 10 seats at the bar. I asked the waiter for recommendations. He gave me the specials for the evening. All sounded very chips. The menu had a bunch of different meals. Shrimp, salmon, chicken, cajin, American. Everything sounded amazing. I thought I was going for the blackened chicken pasta. I asked about the shrimp and grits. This was an award winning dish. I had the waiter pick for me. He selected the shrimp. The dish arrived, much to my surprise. I went right in, and the first taste was awesome. Good spice, big shrimp, nice sauce, and good grits. Not exactly creamy grits, but still OK. I totally enjoyed the dish. I wish I was here a few more days, but this place is a definite must. Very clean. Great service. The cook is awesome. This is a hidden gem located right across the street from the Wilmington Hopsital! They opened during the pandemic and only did take out. They made it through and have an excellent space and staff! The food options on the menu are great with several things offered not listed on the menu! The soup trio is an awesome idea and probably my favorite thing! Mushroom soup was delicious, the cream of crab was slightly sweet with a good flavor, and the carrot soup was spicy with a deep flavor. The salmon was slightly spicy and cooked to perfection. The rice had mini chunks of pineapple which cut the spice of the fish. The chicken Alfredo was a little salty but served with a great sauce. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu! read more

A quaint establishment that is a bit tucked away by itself its location, but the food was very good. Of course, I found this place through Yelp, and I'm glad I did. For appetizers hubby had the buffalo wings and I had the firecracker shrimp. My shrimp were great, a nice touch of flavor without being unbearably hot. As for the wings, my husband absolutely raved about them and wound up taking some home. I followed up with a cup of the crab bisque and it was truly the best seafood bisque I'd had in a while. As simple as it sounds the sprinkle of old bay on top just really set the flavors. The creamy texture was a delight to the tastebuds. I got a cup of it to go! Hubs grabbed a burger and was equally impressed with the seasonings of it and his fries. He's a little picky about his burgers, so that was good to hear. For dessert we had the white chocolate raspberry cake and ...whew, it was so good. It had an unexpected texture (a bid solid on the top and spongy on the bottom) and unexpected taste, but tied up the dinner with a sweet bow. Our waiter was great and was knowledgeable and outgoing while he explained the dishes. We can't wait to come back! I highly recommend for a dinner in Wilmington. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Mahi Mahi special, a bit dry and lacking in flavor. However, the drinks were consistently good, and the bartenders provided excellent service. Had to try this because it's on a lot of lists for top restaurants in Wilmington! Honestly, it was fine. For all the good things I heard about it, I wasn't too impressed but I also don't have too much to complain about. We ordered the calamari and fried shrimp for appetizers ~ the calamari had waaay too many peppers and not enough actually calamari and the banana peppers were a very strong overpowering taste. Shrimp was okay, I wish the sauce was on the side. I got the meatloaf because I've heard it's the best meatloaf in town and I've never had it at a restaurant before and I have to say the meatloaf was really yummy. We decided to go on a double date here. Let's start with parking. It's straight up a painnnnnnn to park in this area. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The server was really nice. She checked frequently and made sure we had drinks. Not a super gluten free friendly place but I made it work. I am in town visiting for a conference. Whenever I visit a new city, I want to experience it via its food. Dorcea was wonderful. The soup flight was such a fun way to try all of the different flavors. The crab bisque was by far my favorite. The cioppino was tasty and I love how they fit all of the flavors into a small little bowl. The Jamaican carrot was good, but I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to spice so it was a little spicy for me. The salmon on my salad was cooked just right and it was absolutely delicious. My friend got the meatloaf, which is such a fun take on my meatloaf by grilling it and serving it over potatoes and vegetables. Bonus points for this restaurant being the only restaurant in Delaware so far to serve me wine in the proper glass for the wine. The staff was great, we were seated by a window. Very friendly and just a cool unique vibe. If I had one suggestion, it would be to figure out why the floors have a sticky squeak when you walk-through. That is such a minor detail, though compared to the food. I wanted to try so many things on the menu. It's a pity that I won't be back to Delaware for quite some time. read more

We found ourselves in Wilmington and were looking for a dinner spot, which we found on Yelp. Dorcea was walking distance from our hotel and it was a nice evening so we strolled into this charming restaurant. The staff was very kind and inviting and made us feel right at home. We had drinks and dinner which was delicious. My friend had the chargrilled meatloaf and I had the spicy seafood pasta both of which were incredible. If you order the meatloaf come hungry because it will be twice as much as you would expect and yet you still keep eating because it's just that darn good. The spicy marinara seafood pasta was also a large portion but that didn't stop me from eating every bite. After our meal we rolled out of this delightful spot and were glad to have the walk back to the hotel to work off this wonderful meal.
