    Prime Rib Dip
    Emma S.

Service was very slow and had minimal check ins. Prime rib dip was good but the au jus was flavorless. Lamb sandwich looked amazing but had barely any meat. Mac and cheese was delicious but seriously overpriced for the portion size. Star of the show was the eggplant- delicious flavor profile. Cute decor but uncomfortable seating.

We were driving from New York to Virginia and pulled over for lunch and stopped at The Post. Good service, good food at what like a good local restaurant.

Super excited for a new, more upscale concept in Trolley Square! We were able to book a last minute reservation at The Post for a Saturday night dinner and overall had an enjoyable dinner. The Post is essentially the upscale cousin of Locale BBQ Post and offers many BBQ inspired menu options, but I appreciated that they had dedicated equal care to their vegetarian and pescatarian options such that there is something delicious for all palates. The good: - The cocktails! We had a hard time deciding between the options, but wound up ordering the Chasing the Rabbit (whiskey, blackberry, iced tea) and the Strawberry Flower (gin, elderflower, strawberry) and enjoyed them both. - The smoked eggplant small plate --- easily the highlight of the meal for me with incredible flavors and good variety of texture in each bite! I absolutely need to order the smoked eggplant sandwich on my next visit. - Skillet Cornbread --- a little cake-like in flavor and consistency, but the apple butter and chili honey on top were perfection. The okay: - The brussels sprouts side was fine, but not overly exciting. - Hubs got the Smoked Lamb Gnocchi for his entree, which texturally was perfect, but felt like it was missing a little flavor/salt. - My seared salmon was cooked to perfection, though the accompanying endive was flavorless and didn't add much --- definitely could be served with better sides. - Our server herself was great, but it definitely seemed like she could use some help --- I think she may have been the only server in the restaurant and was kept quite busy. The not-so-good: - Our lemon mousse dessert wasn't set at all --- definitely more of a melted ice cream consistency, but our waitress kindly took it off of our check. The flavors were great, so on a better night, I'd get it again! Overall, we'd definitely go back --- even the just-okay options had delicious qualities, and I'm sure with time they'll really hit their stride.

I don't eat out enough. So, I read a story about this place and I was curious. Smart move. Welcoming space, excellent service. And the food, top notch. Delicious cocktail (although the cutesy names are unnecessary), had smoked lamb empanadas as an appetizer. They were served in a generous pool of queso, no need to scrimp here. Smoked lamb gnocchi for the main. I rarely order gnocchi because many restaurants give you way too many. But the balance of this dish was perfect. I will return!

Went to the Post on a Friday night with my fiancé and family. The restaurant itself was so cute! Love the Delaware/Trolley decor. Started off which drinks which were so good. Loved the NA options as well! We all shared a few apps - the onion dip, marinated olives, whipped ricotta toast, burnt ends, and lamb empanadas. All were really yummy. A little pricey but very worth it! Dinner was lamb gnocchi. It was a little too saucy for me but still a great entree. Our server Katie was so nice and very attentive. Can't wait to go back!

Deliciously tender and well prepared meats, great service and drinks. Looking forward to coming back to explore the menu more. Don't miss out on the brisket burnt ends. We liked them so much we ordered another.

I was there on a Friday night (we got a last min reservation for 4) and it was excellent! Small place but they make the most of it. The service was excellent and the food was phenomenal. Decor feels upscale and really nice but you can dress casually. We started with the beet small plate, Brussels and chili which were perfect. All for entrees were great too. We plan to go back next weekend!

This restaurant was in walking distance from my hotel so my co workers and I tried it twice. Now our first visit, we were seated quickly but it took some time to finally have our drink orders taken. We had enough time to decide what we wanted before we were finally approached. The restaurant was busy and when we did finally get a server Dee. She was absolutely wonderful and a great server. She recommended different items and I have to say the Shrimp Tortellini and house's fresh garlic bread were delicious. It's also the reason I had to go back. So I went back to try the lobster Tuesday special. This time our server was Sara. She was awesome and very friendly as well. But it still took about an hr for us to get our food. But when it did finally come out the food was great. I am not sure the cooks in this place could go wrong. I had the fresh raw oysters and stuffed lobster. It was something out of this world. The restaurant is really nice and has plenty of seating and a full bar. They also have a great patio to enjoy along the water. If you are not in a rush and want some great food. Please stop in and get everything.

My wife and I ordered simple salads--nothing complicated--and it still took about an hour for the food to arrive. After we finished, our waitress disappeared and it took another 45 minutes just to get the check. At that point I was getting anxious because we needed to get back on the road. I even had to ask a busser to find our waitress. She apologized and mentioned she had a big party, but the issue wasn't just the check--it was the entire length and pace of the experience. The staff seemed nice, but the operation felt very disorganized, and the food itself wasn't particularly memorable. Unfortunately, we won't be rushing back

There was something for everyone. We started with a couple appetizers and drinks. The CHEESESTEAK BAO BUN was actually pretty good. It's obviously not a traditional bso bun but it was delicious. The shrimp wontons were pretty tasty as well. I got the salmon entree and it was perfectly cooked and yummy. Everyone seemed to be happy with their choices. Overall, an A+ experience.

First, I want to answer another review... Roost Pub is a place you definitely should come to if…read moreyou're in downtown Wilmington! On a cold winter Sunday when parking meant squeezing between snow banks we could not have found a better place for dinner! It began with service, but doesn't it always begin with service? Our server was informative, friendly, and yes, appropriately funny. Our interactions with him throughout the dinner made the entire experience so much more pleasant! We made this choice for a very odd reason.. We had just seen him play where they mentioned cornbread and so we went hunting for cornbread. and the cornbread here ... oh my goodness it was so perfect! I went for the Maryland Crab Soup ... I was advised it would warm me up and that it might have a little bit of kick. It had a perfect kick, it warmed me up, it was filled with delicious ingredients, especially the crab and I pretty much licked the bottom of the bowl. My only complaint ... and this is my only complaint from this amazing day. is that the actual bowl that the soup is served in is one of those bowls that is difficult to get the last drops out of with your spoon. Our server highly recommended the mushroom flatbread but I went for the Cuban and he smiled and gave it a thumbs up. Fries, he asked, of course! Upon delivery both entrees looked amazing! My dining partners face lit up as she took a bite of the flatbread and then offered me a piece. Can I say OMG because this was amazingly good and perfection in a flatbread with those undertones of mushroom amidst whatever else was on top. My Cuban was huge And it was different than your everyday Cuban sandwich. but it really tasted good when I took that first bite. The french fries were perfection and the ketchup must have been in Sriracha ketchup it had that little bit of kick that I love. Because of the weather it was a slow day but our server said he just enjoys working at the Roost. We enjoyed dining there and will be back!
