Service was nice and the interior had plenty of seating. Street parking was pretty easy to come by on a Sunday morning. As I waited for my order, I heard someone at a nearby table say, "I've learned not to get the coffee here." We did not disagree with that assessment, so it's fortunate that a chain coffee shop was just 200 ft away. The turnover dough ate more like phyllo than puff pastry; my husband declined to have more than one bite, and I was sad to not have help. Rounding up because our friends liked their quiches (mushroom one was better than the feta one) and borscht. I'd help them eat pierogis here again. read more

Riverfront Bakery is a cute bakery and coffee shop. They offer freshly baked goods, including croissants, muffins, pierogis, and quiches. They're not well staffed so when I visited they were really challenged to fill orders and serve customers. It took 30 minutes for me to get to the register and order. It was close to my hotel and the Starbucks in the area closed. read more

We were headed back from a trip and stumbled across this wonderful shop. It is located near the Riverwalk in Wilmington. Plenty of parking along the street on this lazy Saturday morning. We stopped inside and very glad we did. We had an assortment of coffee and tea and most of my group chose the breakfast options. They had quiche and the pancakes. All were delicious and amazing. I opted for the chicken salad on a croissant. It was buttery and fluffy and tasted fantastic. Just to make sure, we all split a chocolate croissant. We were very glad we did. The staff was very friendly and answered every question and gave options. My only wish is that I lived closer. read more

Delicious! Everything we had was fantastic. We had a almond and a chocolate croissant that we loved and came back for a second time..then third time to take some home. Also had several other items, all wonderful, the crepe, the quiches and the fruit tarts they were all perfect and they melted in my mouth, and of course I got some to take home. Each time there was a huge line, but it went very fast. Enjoyed good coffee while eating inside and the atmosphere was great with the staff being very friendly and welcoming. Will be back. read more

GET THE ALMOND CROISSANT!! I stopped by this bakery during a recent trip to Wilmington. This bakery is located in the Riverfront, just off I-95 and in walking distance from the bus station. I tried the almond crossant it wss very good. Highly recommended getting this. The only thing that could've made it any better is if it was warm. I heard the butter croissant was another good option. I also heard that the chocolate croissant did not contain enough chocolate. I purchased a cinammon muffin and apple turnover, for later. We were in a bit of a rush to get the train, or else we would've sat down and enjoyed our time a little more. However, from the little bit of food, we did taste, we really loved it! The cheesecake is delicious. The turnovers are a must have! The apple cinnamon turnover was our favorite. We will definitely be back to try some more things. read more

This was my first time at Riverfront Bakery, a quick stop on the way to Baltimore. It's a cute bakery shop with outdoor seating, high ceilings and a calm atmosphere. It's beautiful and clean on the inside, very clean and bright! The venue was suggested for sweets along the way. However, I didn't expect my visit to go the way it did in such a short time frame. The customer service was not pleasant and it made me question if I wanted to stay or not. My total was a little over $30 for what I felt was not worth it. The interaction at the counter was less than stellar on their end when I was paying for two orders and the cashier made a mistake; I was forgiving and sat down. I did share that my chocolate chip cookie was really hard, not even crumbly per say, just really hard that made me wonder if they were fresh. I did share this and the feedback I received was "we have a hard recipe," I wasn't sure how to interpret that. The engagement with other staff members or what I believed to be close friends and/or family walking around was not comforting or welcoming. It was somewhat disheartening. read more

They also sell mystery boxes from time to time at a discounted rate if you want to be surprised with a mystery treat. The bakery kitchen is completely enclosed and glass. For my daughter's birthday we stopped her to buy her a pastry. To my surprise they had a sugar free cookie. We order the sugar free cookie, a coffee, and a lemon cake. My daughter enjoyed the cake but the sugar made her a bit sick. My cookie was delicious. I enjoyed the seeds and fruit in it. My spouse loved the coffee. The service was not anything special. Just ordered at counter and took our items to a bistro table. Shortly afterwards more people came in and we took off. Very quaint french style bakery. A few tables to eat inside but they fill up quick. My first time inside, I was plagued with indecision. I read from other reviews they have a mystery box so I opted for that and a hot chocolate. ($10 total) The staff filled my box with a scone, cinnamon roll, and a behemoth of a roll (didn't get much clarity on what that was but again it's a mystery lol). They were all seemingly dry and doughy. The scone was the tastiest of all 3. The hot chocolate was watery. I ended up adding more milk to it when I got home. This quaint little bakery/cafe by the riverfront is: Clean and the food is very good. The lunch selection can be limited. Would return to see if selections change on a daily basis. My husband got the chicken salad on a baguette and it's was very good I got the mushroom/spinach quiche which was also very good but needed to be warmed up more (cool in the center) Perfect place to get a snack or lunch or a sweet treat after walking along the riverfront path. Cons - service was a joke. We ordered a sandwich (ham and cheese with croissant) and a guy brought it out and realized he brought the wrong order out. He stormed away rolling his eyes at his coworkers blaming them for doing it wrong. Then he came back and placed a measly sandwich that was quickly thrown together and didn't even bother to clean off the plate to make it more presentable - savory sandwich was not worth the price at all. They had all kinds of pastries and cakes that all looked delicious, even gluten free options which I love! I went here this past Saturday. The woman working the counter was very warm and welcoming. My buddy got a scone and she asked him if he wanted it warmed up. I had a piece and it was pretty good. I ordered coffee and it was good tasting. The cup leaked a bit but these things happen. The inside was very clean and bright and sunny. It's near the train station. Love this addition to the Wilmington Riverfront! Riverfront Bakery is an adorable little establishment offering delicious pastries and La Colombe coffee that we tried for a recent Sunday breakfast. They offer a few tables along one wall and have set up a couple of outdoor tables to be more COVID-friendly. All staff were masked and sanitizer was readily available, and there is a layer of glass through which you can watch COVID-safe workers prepare more pastry. We had a tough time choosing which pastries to try; they offer a lot of traditional French baked goods like chocolate croissants and pain aux raisins. We wound up with a plain croissant, a cheese brioche, an "everything" brioche (modeled after the bagel, of course!), and their croissant-donut of the day, which was pumpkin pie flavored. The croissant was excellent, with the light, flakiness you'd expect from a well-baked croissant. The brioches both had pockets of cheese and flavor in the middle, along with seasoning on top --- both were delicious, though I think BF and I agreed we preferred the Everything Brioche over the Cheese. The croissant donut was delicious --- two donut-shaped pieces of cinnamon-sugar covered flaky pastry with pumpkin spiced pastry cream between, a divine fall treat. I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu, including crepes and quiches. Side note: the quote painted above the menu speaks to Yelpers everywhere: "There is no love sincerer than the love of food." Clearly, the designers of this place are my kind of people. read more
