(4.0/5) OATH '84* This modern Black-owned kitchen has a reserved vibe that's perfect for a great drink and quick bite to eat. #Oath84 offers tapas/small plates Tuesday-Friday from 4-10. The drink menu offers a wide selection. The Lavender Lemonade was a favorite at our table. We also enjoyed the Lobster Mac, Filet w. Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jam, and the Steakboard. Everything was rich in flavor and aesthetically pleasing! With its hours being after the typical work hours, there was plenty of street parking and garages are available. If you do choose to use the ladies restroom I would suggest going with a friend because it is a little secluded. But, other than that Oath brings a fresh vibe to Wimington!

Oath 84 Wilmington, Delaware Food: Steak Fries Paneer Cigars Street Corn Deviled Eggs Lamb Chops Steakboard Drinks: Strawberry Basil Rose Smokey Poloma Lavender Lemonade Old Fashion Overall Rating: 4.3/5 Family Friendly: No Recommended: Yes Would recommend for a date night! Vibes are nice but a little overpriced. The service started off strong at first, then another server took over and it went downhill from there. Food came out all at once was a little overwhelming with a small table. We ordered a second round of drinks, 5 mins after we got them the server asked if we wanted the check. Literally took a sip of our drinks.

This place is a vibe,. A nice afterwork spot or a date night. This is a drink and small tapas style. This isn't a place for full meals like that. The Waiters and bartenders are very friendly making sure you are well. The drinks are highend and strong.

The ambiance of this establishment is warm, cozy and modern - my favorite aspect about this restaurant was the energy. I visited this restaurant on a Friday night. Like most places they're short staffed, so the wait time for service is long. When you visit try to keep that in mind. The menu, is creative and interesting but not my cup of tea. I wasn't too fond of my Cesar salad having eggs, my drinks weren't mixed well; except the Smokey Tequila drink - which was my favorite. I didn't care for the Side Car or the drink made with Duse. Overall it's a nice place to try, the menu is different. If you can keep on open mind you may find something you like. I'll be back to try other items on the menu.

Had the pleasure of trying this place last night with my best friend and was highly impressed. The restaurant itself is a breath of fresh air, as the location in downtown Wilmington is perfect, the ambiance was on point, the music selection was ideal, and the it was extremely clean. We were properly greeted upon entry and I must say the customer service was exceptional. Our waitress was prompt, friendly, and made tons of recommendations. We tried quite a few things and everything was amazing (Deviled Eggs, Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls, Caesar Salad, Crab Cakes, Lamp Chops, and Lobster Mac) The only dish I was not too crazy about was the deviled eggs. I got a chance to speak with the owner and he was really nice as well. Overall, I definitely recommend this place and hope Delaware brings more places like it around. The state has a shortage of good restaurants, so I'm glad my friend recommended Oath 84. I will definitely be returning soon.

The food and service at Oath 84 was fantastic. We had a family dinner with a party of 14 there during June 2023. Everything was delicious. Our dinner started off with a tasty salad with arugula, diced pickled beets, goat cheese topped with a balsamic vinaigrette. In addition, our servings included marinated asparagus spears, well seasoned chicken wings, salmon cornbread cakes (best ever), salmon stuffed with lump crab, grilled marinated lamb chops, truffle mashed potatoes, lobster macaroni and cheese, roasted Brussel sprouts, and topped off with apple cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream for dessert (yummy). I'm sure you get the picture by now. Again, I'm a foodie and it takes a lot to impress me, therefore, for me to be posting this review this food was simply awesome. Take your family or make reservations for a special occasion. You will be glad that you did.

It took us 25 minutes to be seated. My husbands smoked old fashioned took 25 minutes to arrive at the table and 30 minutes for my watermelon lemon drop. For appetizer we had the jerk chicken egg rolls. I was not a fan of the overall taste, but my husband enjoyed them. We ordered lamb chops, lobster Mac, and the steak board. Everything was just... okay. I did not like the sweet sauce that was poured all over the lamb chops. The Mac was burnt on top. The steak may have been the most enjoyable dish. We made sure to order another drink prior to finishing our first because service was extremely slow! Food 6/10, ambiance 8/10, drinks 8.5/10 and service 4.5/10.

The food we had was fine. The mussles and frites were good, I would have thought the fries come with the sauce but they didn't. The risotto was slight malt under seasoned. The beet salad was really tasty! This resturant is always thorough when it comes to allergies. They have a hard time with the two server communication aspect. I've been here twice and both times they seemed one beat off from each other. Also for having two servers they don't check on you often enough. That could also be a communication/timing thing. (if you think someone else was there or not) we only ordered one drink because we didn't want to wait after we finished our food to order another. The drinks here are fantastic though. We dined for 2 hours and only was able to order one drink and apps. We probably would have enjoyed more but personally I didn't have to time sit any longer. I would give them one more try but 202 is a pain and this might not be worth the drive with so many comparable options of fine dining in Wilmington.

The bartenders are the heart of the experience. They don't just pour drinks; they create them. There's real skill and artistry behind the bar, and the conversation is as good as the cocktails. You can tell they care about balance, technique, and presentation. The Walk in the Garden gin cocktail is the perfect example: bright, layered flavors, premium ingredients, and that lavender garnish that hits your nose before the first sip. The scent alone sets the stage for the drink. It's thoughtful, elegant, and exactly what a craft cocktail should be. The food holds its own right alongside the drinks. The skillet meatballs come out tender and full of flavor, the kind of dish that disappears faster than you expect. The potato skins are crisp, satisfying, and exactly what you want with a cocktail in hand. And the homemade Baileys cheesecake is the kind of dessert you plan to share but end up guarding with your fork. It's rich without being heavy, with that unmistakable homemade touch. One of the best parts of Hummingbird to Mars is the tapas-style menu. You can eat as much or as little as you want, a couple of small plates with drinks, or a full progression from appetizers to dessert. It gives you the freedom to shape the night however you want, without committing to oversized entrées or predictable bar food. And that's the bigger point: places like this don't happen by accident. They come from creativity, risk-taking, and a commitment to doing things well. If we don't support small businesses that put this level of care into their craft, we'll be left with nothing but the same chains serving the same menus everywhere you go. Hummingbird to Mars is the antidote to that; personal, inventive, and genuinely memorable. From the first sip to the last bite, it's a place that delivers an experience, not just a night out. It's worth supporting, worth returning to, and worth celebrating.

Shoutout to Christian! We went with a bigger party this time - total of 6. Would highly recommend reservations. Parking can be challenging but worth the work. You will ring a bell next to a discreet door where someone will assist you. You are greeted and walked up a very long staircase to the actual speakeasy. There's a bar, seating areas, and lounge areas as well. There's also live music. Check their socials. We ordered lots of drinks - 12 total. Every single one was absolutely delicious. Doesn't matter what you order. They do have seasonal cocktails too. You can't go wrong. Food! Okay, just order one of everything. We got meatballs (highly recommend), tuna, pizzas (shareable size). All the things were good. Again, you can see this isn't our first time here (see previous reviews). We will continue to share this place with as many people as we can as it is a superb experience! Just all around a lovely place to sit and enjoy cocktails and good. For sure meets that speakeasy vibe!

It's on the first floor of a hotel. We were greeted then shown to the restaurant. We had reservations at 6pm and sat down immediately. The vibe in the restaurant was great. We were greeted immediately by our server and a trainee. I ordered an old fashioned and my wife ordered a specialty cocktail. Both tasted great however, wait for the drink was excessive. The bar had an afterwork crowd and it appeared a bit understaffed. For my meal I ordered grilled octopus for a starter and I think it was one of the best I've ever had. Tender, savory with a really flavorful sauce. My wife had the Ricotta focaccia. Loved it. For dinner I had the pasta with mushroom and truffle. It was amazing. Temperature was perfect. It was hot, creamy and amazingly flavorful. My wife had the bream fish dish. She enjoyed that as well. For dessert we had the almond/chocolate tort. Very nicely warmed with a rich chocolate flavor to end the meal. I'll be back for sure.

He was overseeing that meals were prepared but I kept thinking he was arguing with someone. My easy peasy drink was great. I had the lobster linguini, I think there were 4 nickel size lobster pieces in the linguini , linguini was not Al dente, overcooked, and the flavor was non descriptive. If I served it , even on a weeknight at home I'd be apologizing. My husband had the durado , he said it was so so, my sister thought her meal average and named several other places we had eaten that she would prefer, my niece had the pork , no rave review. The flourless chocolate cake was good. I was told cheesecake ok. The price was moderate, but I have paid a lot less for a lot better. When I read how the meals were prepared and ingredients I thought we were headed into a very special dinner. I hate writing negative reviews but I did teach cooking when I was younger and have certain expectations when I am going to a now celebrated restaurant.
