While staying in the hotel we were lucky enough to get up early and have breakfast before our big day at the Point-to-Point at Winterthur. Amanda, our server, was a ray of sunshine and was especially attentive to our little one. she has a grandchild and relished the special time our daughter had while eating away from home. The layout is pretty basic with a series of long high-top tables with a few lower tables to boot. I asked for a spicy Blood-Mary and that's exactly what I received ! Well done! Other breakfast items came as ordered and all of the food was very good . Prices were fair and we really enjoyed our time there and whenever in the area would definetly return. read more

We stayed in The Westin for a week and ate here a few times. We ordered room service and ate in the restaurant as well as just had drinks at the bar. The food is delicious and seasoned very well. It was better than many of the offsite restaurants we tried. Everyone there is so friendly and we got to know many of the servers, bartenders, etc. Kudos to Tiera, Victoria and Amanda who are all awesome! During our visits, we had the pan seared salmon, grilled pork chop, crab eggrolls and fried mozzarella. The salmon and pork chop were delicious! The eggrolls had a great crab flavor and a sauce that had a slight kick. There is inside and outside seating. I recommend River Rock Kitchen if you are staying at the hotel or in the area. read more

I checked their menu online but when I went there for breakfast I was charged much more than the online menu prices. One would expect a business to update their prices online. It's deceptive. I won't be going back. read more

Very nice establishment but why is the front desk manager (black lady with the glasses and oversized cardigan) so rude? lol wanted to tiktok my experience with the food but before I could even order the food she aggressively told me I could not have a camera in there(???) you would think the owners would want exposure to bring some traffic (it wasn't a single customer in there) seesh guess I'll keep my good reviews to myself! Oh! & might I add, No one came to serve us LOL it wasn't even a hostess at the front. So to be rude when literally no one is there working (crazy work) we had to go up to the bar and order the drinks. As we're ordering the drinks, she comes up and says I cannot set up. i said oh no I'm not doing it for free or anything, im recording as we eat. She says okay. A [redacted] guy comes in, she basically ran over to tell us if we aren't ordering food we need to leave but politely asked the guy if he wanted to have dinner (????? No one gave us a menu or anything, we were waiting for a waitress to come up to us) Nasty spirited lady. read more

This restaurant & bar is located in the Westin. They have a limited menu for Summer which they hope to expand for the Fall. Excellent service and the food was delicious. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked Steak Frites with mushrooms. The bar is nice and offers indoor or outdoor seating. A nice place to chill after a day of work or travel. read more

Food is such a distraction..... I forgot to take pictures! Allison was our waitress! She had a smile that would light up any room! She was knowledgeable about the menu. Kind and just the right amount of personal. We didn't have to ask for anything she was always on top of it before we asked and she's pretty good at writing upside down(LOL)! The food portions are shareable and flavorful. There are plenty of side options at a great price point so try a few extras. I tried the fried shrimp and let me tell you....the shrimp were clean and fresh(if you know ya know). Battered lightly and seasoned perfect. I questioned if I was going to finish them because there were so many (I did). I enjoyed them with the sautéed spinach along with the sweet potato mashers. My Dad joined me and it was his second time eating there for the day! The hostess took care of us as soon as we walked in. The restaurant smelled delightful the bathrooms were clean. You can see some of the cooking area and that too was clean. I would definitely eat here again! If you're in the area stop in...it doesn't disappoint! read more

Food is very good here at the Westin. Several selections available on the dinner menu. Been here for awhile do to training, and have tried most items. Steak is great, along with the Salmon, seafood Mac/cheese, and roasted chicken. Prices are very fair with larger food portions. Breakfast is a must as well. Again, large portions, and great prices as well. read more

Our bartender Brooke was amazing! Very friendly and always made sure my drink was full!

I would like to inform all about my experience at the Westin Marriott in Wilmington Deleware .First and foremost it was a great stay but the restaurant and bar food was fabulous. Brooke who served me was the highlight however! She made the experience as if I was home being around family which by the way was even better since U travel often. So gracious and considerate at every level. Even after moving to a different hotel I still came back for great food and care to detail. Thank you Brooke!!!!!!! read more

I came to River Rock Kitchen because we heard the drinks were fantastic. We were surprised to find out the bartender was 10x more fantastic than the drinks. Brooke made me the best margarita I ever had. We had a lovely time at the bar. the river rock wings and Kennett square mushroom soup were great. We will be back! read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the River Rock Kitchen - Brooke took amazing care of our table, not to mention that she makes a killer Cherry Margarita!! We did enjoy a few appetizers with our delicious margaritas - seared artichoke hearts, tomato caprese and garlic shrimp (the shrimp was my favorite!). Would definitely recommend, you'll have a great experience - especially if you're lucky enough to get Brooke! read more

This place is located in the Westin lobby. There's not that many restaurants within walking distance of this hotel so when it's cold out I come here. The service is super friendly! The free bread is asiago cheese bread and it comes with oil garlic butter dip. I have tried the brussel sprouts and mushroom salad here (around 8-9 bucks), not that filling but it's enough with the combination of the bread. I have also tried the chicken panini ($11), decent quality food - I think you can only order this for room service, I did not see it on the menu downstairs. I have also tried the korean braised shortrib- 15 bucks but super small portion-good flavor. This place is pricey but it's in the hotel so what do you expect. read more

Ah, this place will have a special place in my heart forever. This was the location of our rehearsal dinner. They did a nice job accommodating 23 people in a cozy environment. We ordered roughly about 36 small dishes, salads, and salmon/steak for everyone. At the end of the day, food was amazing, and all of our guests were pretty happy - but they were TIRED from how late into the night we had to wait for our food. I would have hoped that if they were anticipating a group of ~25 people that they would have had staff to accommodate. Service, although courteous, was incredibly and painstakingly slow. My husband and I also came here for the morning after our wedding - our first breakfast together as a married couple! Food again was great, servers were kind, but again, very slow to refill our drinks/take our check/etc. Overall, this place is great. Ambiance, decor, and food are amazing. Maybe they don't usually have a high turnover rate so the restaurant is not staffed that way, but service tends to slow down immensely with large numbers of people. Hopefully you will get the chance to come on a less popular day to experience this place! read more

Delicious food Great atmosphere ample parking Menu was Prie Fix for restaurant week. Great assortment of drink choices

We came here for some light fare/tapa style dinner. It was quiet for a Friday (only one table filled) and it took forever to get seated. We almost left because we weren't sure how the table service would be. Loved my cocktail. The curried carrot soup was nice and probably my near favorite dish of the night. The frisée and manchego salad was delightful and a nice blend of cheese and fruit. The Brussel sprouts were meh. I didn't care for the Brie with the fruit at all. This dish seemed overbaked. Lastly, the tuna lettuce wraps were not well prepared. It was supposed to be seared and it was basically cooked. Overall, this place missed the mark. Oh, and the stalls in the bathroom don't lock. I tried three and got the same result. Ended up holding the door shut while I went. read more

I've been here a few times and always enjoy the fresh ingredients and the changing menu. Went with some coworkers for lunch and they handled our group of 10 with ease. I had the roasted cauliflower salad and requested that it be topped with salmon. Wow! The fish was very tasty but overshadowed by one of the best salads that i have eaten in ages. Baby kale, carrots, radish, blue cheese, almonds and bites of cauliflower with a truffle vinaigrette. So amazing! read more

Picked the wife up from the Wilmington train station and headed over the the westin for lunch. Pretty decent lunch spot for a hotel pub. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with kimchee on a brioche bun. I substituted tomato bisque soup for fries. Food came out fast and was creatively plated. However, the oil in frier needs to be changed. You could taste it on the breading of the chicken. read more

After checking in to the Westin, we walked along the Riverwalk looking for dinner. After reviewing all of our options we decided to go back to the hotel and grab a burger at the bar. We walked into the restaurant, River Rock Kitchen, and were pleasantly surprised at the small plates tapas menu. The combination of flavors found on each dish were sublime. And I don't say that lightly - I've had lots and lots of calamari, Brussel sprouts and sea bass but the dishes we had tonight were exceptional. The calamari was paired with banana peppers which offset any hint of the over fried flavor so commonly associated with calamari - it was great. The Brussel sprouts had a delicate hint of pork which accented their essential nature rather than crushing it into porky submission - another winner. Sea bass may be good or just another fish. When the chef paired tonight's sea bass with a mild lemon grass broth he was able to create a harmony where the whole was truly greater than the sum of its parts. All in all, this was a stellar meal quietly tucked away inside the Westin. The service was pleasant and the decor interesting. Our total bill was in line with what we would have paid at one of the local fish houses. I will be back soon. read more

River Rock is the type of place you'd expect in a bigger city, not a hotel lobby. They aim for a slick small plate classy fare - focusing on fresh ingredients, high end presentation and creative recipes. My experience here had a few hiccups - but they weren't really the place's fault. I only mention them to better inform the yelper after me. This is a SMALL PLATE place. I had only glanced at the menu, and didn't read the description first, so completely missed this. I thought, wow - these prices are unbelievable... and they were. Expect to order at least two entries per person, and probably an appetizer. This adds up, but then again, the food is totally worth it. The second is that, fresh made food takes time. We got a wonderful seat on the patio. Considering it is next to a parking lot, they did a good job at putting up some bushes to at least separate you a little from the sidewalk. It was pleasant out while we ate. When I realized my trout (delicious) was too small for dinner, I ordered the grilled cheese (also delicious), which took a while to come out (with its own mini bottle of ketchup for the fries) ordered to go. It was later in the evening, so I can't really fault them this, so once again, order extra up front, because unlike most tapas places, adding on once you realize your hungry can take some time. The food wouldn't be as good if it didn't though. My date had a kale salad. This shouldn't have been impressive - since it was fairly standard - but it was the best kale I've ever had. For the life of me, I can't remember what the soup was she had with it, but she was satisfied, not being overly hungry. My trout was delicious, and finished in minutes. The grilled cheese was also done well, but I regret my decision to eat the fries first. It went from being incredible while hot, to just a regular grilled cheese as it cooled own. Don't let the peak of these item pass you by - dig right into it. So River Rock, while a tad expensive, is a great location to swing by if you're staying at the attached hotel, or even just in the area. read more

Best food in Wilmington. This place actually makes me feel like I'm in a normal city. Only prob: they don't advertise. Twice, the wait staff was surprised that we were locals b/c apparently they don't get many locals, just business travelers. Don't let their lack of notability keep you away! I highly recommend drinks and apps or the full meal! My only complaint is that, true to Wilm., the service isn't quite as polished as the food and atmosphere. But, I'm spoiled. I wish that the bar tenders knew more and matched the surroundings, but again--small town. But, the service is polite and attentive! The bourbon flight is the way to go. I mean, what's there to complain about when you get a flight for $12. Yes, I'll def be back for that again and again. The food: stunning! We've eaten here twice and both times every dish was excellent. I felt like I could actually be back in Austin or in New York. I don't even know where to begin, but do yourself a favor and order the smaller portions so you can eat more variety! I know many people don't "get" the small plate service, but this place actually is very fair on prices and portions. The "small" ravioli I had could have been my meal. Also, get the ravioli--the mushroom creme sauce! I'm pretty sure it had heaven in it. The duck was the second best duck dish I've ever had. #1 being from Foreign & Domestic (ATX). But, it was more expensive... RRK duck skin was perfectly crisp and melted like butter. If you're a local make this place your date night, "I'm sorry", anniversary, birthday, or had a bad day need a good night place. Thank you RRK!!! read more

Made a reservation for Christmas dinner as there was a buffet menu available for $48 per person. We both decided to just order off of the regular dinner menu. I had been looking forward to coming here for a while and it was ok at best. I thought the crab dip was a little too liquidty/loose but it taste good. The burger was good my daughter said. The crabcakes has entirely too much filler for my liking and certainly wasn't comparable for the cost at other places where I LOVE the crabcake and actually have crab not peppers and other stuff. Overall for last minute reservation for Christmas dinner it worked. read more

I visited for lunch during Brandywine Restaurant Week. Great atmosphere and setting tucked away in the Westin hotel. The special was a two-course lunch for $15. The waitress did not really explain the menu or offer any recommendations. Service was fairly slow in general given that my friend and I were one of two tables there at the time. I ordered the mac and cheese and the fried chicken. The Mac and cheese was very good and plated beautifully. I enjoyed the flavor but would have liked a little more crunch to the dish. The fried chicken was moist but tasted a bit burnt. It had a hint of some kind of Asian seasoning to it which was unexpected but nice. It came on a plate of mashed potatoes and green beans. The mashed potatoes were a bit too runny for my taste and the green beans were unfortunately almost raw. The playing was nice. Although I was a little confused by the green liquid that surrounded the plate. It seemed to be butter with food coloring, but I'm not sure. Overall the menu seemed very forward thinking and bold which I like at restaurants. The dishes I had just needed to be executed a bit differently. I would visit again for dinner or possibly a date night. read more

Great for happy hour! Staying here for a wedding and went to have a quick drink. The $5 happy hour drinks are a great deal they are a good size and strong. Love the food and the service and the hotel. Just wish there were more veggie options. The plates are tapas style so you'd need 2-3 plates to be full depending on the dish. I went here for my birthday which happened to be on a busy weekday and I wanted to have a quality meal closer to my house (rather than going to PHL). I had high expectations because it's in the Westin and all that jazz. I had the black bean and jackfruit burger (vegetarian) which was not bad but it just wasn't flavorful. I mean Trader Joes has better burgers in their frozen aisle. I happen to like the taste of jackfruit and I couldn't taste it at all in the burger. :( The service was SLOOOOW even though we were one of the three tables there. I didn't hate the food, it was just not worth the price or the fancy tag. read more

The food was incredible, but for food of this quality and price point, the service really was unimpressive. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable-- but we ordered our food, and it seemed like the kitchen prepared and sent it out one plate at a time, in no particular order over the course of 15ish minutes. The appetizers came out after the main course, and some were done eating before one person had even gotten their dish. We were not prompted to order a second round of drinks or desserts, and much of the meal felt awkward, as the timing of the whole meal was stilted. The server was good. But a great server helps guide you through the meal experience, and you should never be sitting around wondering 'what comes next?' Also, you should be aware that they serve small plates. We were not aware of this, and neither the server or menu made an effort to let us know, so we ended up being incredibly disappointed with the portion size (it's fine and really delicious for small plates, as long as you know that they will be small plates). I hope to try this place again, because the decor is so beautiful and the food truly was excellent. And I really hope to not have the same experience I did on Saturday. This is one of the only places where I really hope to be proved wrong about. read more

Came in for breakfast. No one there. Asked front desk manager when they opened. He said they were opened. Went back and said "hello?" a few times. No one. Went back to front desk. A hidden gem...driving on the 95 and found this place where the food is beyond compare. Think "high end city dining" and you will be close to the experience here. We started with an IPA and mussels. They were cooked to perfection. Next, mushroom ravioli and a chicken panini that were some of our best meals of the weekend (and we just got back from NYC!) Decent food. Tried them while there on a business trip and the company put me up in the Westin. It would appear that the Chef that wrote the menu is a visionary and fairly bold. i like that. The food was good. I just feel that for this price point and visionary food choices, as well as the haute nature of the presentation should be coupled with better service and attentiveness. I should NOT have to ask for more water. Plus a good restaurant should NEVER let your wine glass go empty given the margin in booze. There were only 3 other business men and 2 couples in that evening. No reason for poor service. read more

River Rock Kitchen - Decent braised short rib of beef. NOTHING Korean about it. - New American Near Me - Wilmington, Delaware

2.5-stars. Underwhelming take-out dinner experience (child-sized short rib grilled cheese sandwich and arugula salad; both of tepid flavoring) as well as breakfast (completely flavorless turkey breakfast wrap; mostly wrap). I'm not a fan of large family style tables (making small talk to strangers while awkwardly wolfing down my cardboard breakfast wrap?), and the ambience of the restaurant lends itself to reverberating acoustics that seems to reward a vicious cycle of increased yelling to meet an escalating audible decibel level. read more

We had a date night and landed at River Rock. I anticipated so-so food and high prices because it's attached to a hotel. I was very wrong. The prices were beyond reasonable, particularly when considering the quality. Expect $8-$10 for a small plate and $18-$25 for a full size entree. Full meal for two people was $45 after leaving a 20% tip and we were both well fed. The ambiance is semi-formal but relaxed. Beautiful layout and the staff was excellent. Tried breakfast here two mornings in a row while staying at the Westin. For both meals the staff were inattentive and seemed confused when questioned about the menu. A smoothie listed on the menu clearly stated it was made with almond milk. When asked if they had almond milk... they were confused and said it was made with soy milk and the chef must add almonds?? On morning two I received possibly the worst omelet I've ever tried. The smell of overcooked egg was so strong it was sickening. They had covered the browned areas with cheese. I picked the cheese off and tried to pick out some salvageable egg. In the end I had to push it away because of the smell. read more
