I don't usually go out in Wlmington because I'm here for work Mon-Thurs but if you're looking for a spot to hang out- come here. There's a decent amount of people that come here. They have cards against humanity games on Tuesdays. I think they have different events on different nights. They carry a lot of different beers, it's super divey inside. Service is really friendly!! They let me take a picture with their Hello Kitty KISS dolls- thanks! Also they have the $5 PBR and a shot special!!! read more

I am a big fan of Oddity. They have a fantastic beer selection, both on draft and bottled. Their specials are comparable, and I hear their entertainment is on point. The schedule at least has a lot going on, I just haven't been for a show. The bartenders, which are often the owners (depending on the night) are always engaged and helpful. They seem to genuinely care about the patrons. Oddity is a haven for those uncomfortable with the Trolley Square scene; be it the claustrophobia or collegiate/young-professional clientele, Oddity works outside that vein. Sometimes I feel as if their prices are maybe $1 more than reasonable, but I did move to Wilmington from Montana, where about everything costs less. Wednesday's 9pm used to be my jammmmmm. I used to be a weekly bingo regular. Now that I have a newborn daughter, my partner and I don't make it there but like once every 3 months. I do have a few cautionary tales about the announcers/owners: There was a point back in 2015 when I was coming every week and I began to invite more and more friends to the point where I had a group of 5-10 with me each week. Sadly, that's when the announcers became less consistent and the owner (I think) began to do the announcing. He and his partner would drink a glass of Guinness for each round so 4 or 5 rounds later they were sloshed. This usually ended up with the owner saying extremely sexist things to his waitresses and to the crowd. I remember pulling one waitress aside and asking her if she could say anything to the announcer because of his awful comments and she was like "Well, he's my boss sooooo no." I had a group of friends there one week where they called out my black friend with dreadlocks in the crowd and said some pretty "hey homie, how's the weed life" type racially stereotypical things to him. He was definitely irked by it. Additionally, I invited about a dozen people from my LGBT choir a few weeks later hoping the regular announcers would be back, but it was the owner and a sidekick again. They were so riled up by the end of the night that when my lady friend from the choir won, they were extremely rude to her and even balled up her winning card and threw it literally back in her face and made derogatory transphobic remarks. I was so embarrassed by their behavior that I stopped inviting people and eventually stopped coming myself for the next year or so. At this point, if I go in and he's announcing I won't stay long, but I definitely don't invite everyone I know like I used to because I can't stomach the thought of them being embarrassed or targeted by the drunk announcers. IMO, they should definitely make the announcers limit their drinks or at least drink but don't let it reveal all your buried sexism, transphobia and racism. read more

Dope spot for what it exactly is. The decor fits the name and the beer/drink selection is awesome. From the outside it's got a real dive feel, but inside it's got the best aspects is what a dive really should be. Must check out this spot for sure if your into wired shit and a good time read more

Unique little bar with a relaxed atmosphere. Drink prices are reasonable and the staff is always friendly. They have yummy vegan food to snack on (definitely try the black bean vegan quesadilla and the vegan tacos) and host the OddBall Art Halls, which are a fun way to meet local artists and see their work. Definitely recommend checking this place out for a relaxing drink and something to munch on. Update: They no longer serve food :( The pub next door doesn't have any vegan options. Since I wouldn't come here for drinks without being able to get a snack, I'm removing a star. read more

Stopped in on a quiet weeknight after hearing about the place from a friend. I'm not in to heavy metal, punk, tattoos, or the overly eccentric and all that said, I really enjoyed the place. The beer menu is spectacular. Behind the bar is dominated by a large cooler with a LOT of different craft beers. You'll be able to find something you like. Mike the owner is a great and friendly guy and the bartender Liz Ann was a staple at Homegrown in Newark for a while so you can be confident that she knows what she's doing if you want a cocktail. I ordered food there also, a quesadilla with chicken and it came out quickly with chips and salsa. I was a little disappointed in the size as it was quite small considering the price point ($9), but it was very good. On a return trip I ordered the caprice wraps which was delicious. Those are only minor quibbles though. This place isn't a restaurant, it's a bar. If you're going there, it's for the spectacular selection of beers and the unique ambiance of the place. Definitely a must-try for anyone in Wilmington. read more

Interesting New Orleans-inspired bar. Roomy main bar area, decent stage, and room to dance if the mood strikes. Easy to find and easy to park. Bar staff is friendly and attentive. Just discovering all the funky decor is fun. 4 bands were playing between 9 and 1 so for live music fans they attract a good variety. There was a decent drink menu and the "special" of the night was Love Potion #9 to honor Valentine's Day. My friends and I enjoyed mixed drinks and shots. I surprisingly did not need to use the restroom so I cannot offer a review of the ladies room. I enjoyed this venue and would definitely go back to see live music. A jukebox was available for the early crowd to enjoy music. Don't know if they have a food menu available. read more

Great craft beer list with rotating draft, bottle, and can selections. They also have ciders, wine, soda, and a full bar. Limited "Nom Noms" menu includes Nathan's hot dogs, soft tacos, quesadillas, wraps, and vegetarian and vegan options. Really great place. Live music can be on the louder "screaming" side, but Oddball Bingo on Wednesdays is a lot of fun! read more

I loved this bar! The decorations inside are fantastic. I love all the little oddities about. They have a very good selection of beer and the bartender was helpful in picking which one I wanted. My was empty when we first arrived but it was a Wednesday and that's to be expected. However, after an hour or so people began flooding in. They were there to play Wednesday night Bingo. It is totally free and they have hilarious prizes. I actually won a round and got a small whip, some lube and a rabbit mini vibrator Hahaha lots of fun and a great staff. Massive beer selection, very good happy hour prices! I've been there in the afternoon and before a band performed. It was a nice scene, nothing crazy but people having a good time. Went in the middle of the day, little dead. What a great location though, solid L bar right when you walk in and separate room is perfect for party and concert venues. The atmosphere is great, decorations are cool and we got to know the bartenders a bit who explained all about the business and what goes on there throughout the week. I just went to the Oddity Bar last night for a 5-band punk show. Suddenly, Wilmington isn't such a terrible place to live. The music started on time (!) but it had a definite house-show feel. The bands were really good, not at all what I expected, and nothing like the typical Delaware bar bands that you read about in Spark. The only thing I didn't like is that there were TV screens flanking the stage, and I found it very distracting when I was trying to focus on the bands. Fellow Wilmingtoners, it is our duty to make sure this place stays in business forever. (Deets: There's a small cover charge for most shows, but there are free open mics and bingo nights.) read more

I often don't feel safe in many places due to the way I look, but I always feel safe and included at Oddity. Hidden gem in Wilmington. This is a a great bar and easily the most unique in the city. Every time I go on Friday or Saturday night, the place is jumping. All the bartenders and staff are extremely nice and friendly. They have more types of beer there than you will know what to do with. Some type of band is playing in the back which has a lot of room and the bands are interactive with the crowd. The bands that play here are good and are very enjoyable.They always play something outrageous of the TV's like an old monster movie or some adult cartoons. Everyone is welcome at this bar, there's always a great diversity of people because the bar just gives off a great vibe. I haven't eaten here yet but after looking at the menu and reading the other reviews I'm definitely going to try something. This is the bar to go to in Wilmington. read more
