Park Cafe

This is a cute spot for brunch. Its a cozy location with good food and great drinks. I came for a Saturday brunch and the staff was very accommodating and attentive. We had the waffle sandwich and strawberry French toast. The pumpkin espresso martini and the caramel cafecito were our drinks of choice and they did not disappoint!

I love a good brunch! Park Cafe is a great spot to check out if you are in Wilmington, DE. Brunch is served from 10-2 on Saturday and Sunday. I arrived right as the restaurant open and was impressed by the decor and the indoor seating cafe vibes. I ordered the Grand Park breakfast with sausage and the Pina Punch. The pancakes were light and fluffy. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I wanted to love the Pina Punch, but it was definitely lacking a good balance of alcohol to flavor. The drink had a really weird taste and would not try it again. Overall a place that you should check out. They have a cute outdoor seating area too.

Okay Wilmington! Go Off! This cafe is super cute inside and has a cute patio to eat on. We stopped in on a cold day and they had plenty of space heater available which made it surprisingly cozy. There aren't too many table so it might be best to call ahead on a saturday/sunday. I love that I found this place. I can't wait to come back. Our server was super sweet and my food was all cooked perfectly. This will be my new brunch spot.

Super cute cafe tucked away and you would never find it if you didn't know to look for it. They had a great selection of pastries and coffees. The brunch selection on the weekend is also great. I had the spinach and mushroom skillet and would do so again.

Adorable restaurant with outdoor patio. Peach mimosa was delicious and I had a seasonal soup with the strawberry rhubarb salad was amazing. Went back the next day!

"The Beets": honey roasted beets, goat cheese spread, dried apricots, spiced pistachios, with stone fruit syrup. Absolutely fabulous!

The internet is undefeated. On our way for a weekend getaway in Annapolis, I searched for "best lunch in Wilmington" and this was the first hit. While I'll admit it's the only lunch I've ever eaten in Wilmington, I have no trouble believing it really is the best. The restaurant is small, but bright and cheerful, and we were greeted with big smiles. I had a cup of a carrot-heavy farro and vegetable soup (super hearty and delicious) followed by a gorgeous salad of honey-roasted beets on a silky smooth bed of goat cheese and topped pistachios and chewy dried apricots. Great textures and the flavors were phenomenal. My BF (from their Mardi Gras specials) had blackened pork loin with horseradish apple butter. Holy GOD. So so so so good. If you live in or near Wilmington (or are just passing through like we were), seek this place out; it's a gem!

I had always wanted to stop in and luckily I had an excuse when I saw they were listed on the the Art Loop earlier this month. I'm a big fan of the Wilmington Art Loop and rarely miss one. I must say though I was shocked to see a $20 entry for the privilege of paying a cash bar and a few finger bites. So, if my wife and I pay the $20 a head cover and each order a bottle of Yeungling it's $52? I don't care how rich you are, you need a hole in your head to pay $52 for two bottles of Miller's Lite. Was this money going to a charity or strictly for profit? I'm not going to begrudge a private club having whatever type of event they want. I am asking though please don't associate your organization with the Art Loop, a traditionally free and fun mingling of the community, if you're going to charge a cover that goes beyond even what a local club would charge on a Saturday while a band is playing. Art was alright, typical of what you would see in a downtown office building. Local landmarks and landscapes. You could actually go to the Brandywine Museum of Art and see some Andrew Wyeth for less than the price of admission here. Even better the Delaware Art Museum only charges $25 for two adults and four children and both of those have a lot more than the dozen work we saw hanging here.

The person taking my order didn't seem familiar with the menu, which was surprising for a place focused on something as straightforward as pizza. It took quite a while for the pizza to be assembled before making it to the oven. After ordering, I waited nearly 40 minutes, which I had buyer's remorse, considering I could have just ordered two pre-made slices and heated them up. Bardea was able to get an order in and out in like 10 minutes. Even weirder, comes the confusing part after Angelo's takes the pizza out of the oven. Twice, the pizza made it to a box, where employees stood over it, seemingly unsure of what to do. They appeared to be discussing it and even taking photos while the pizza just sat there getting cold, for several minutes. Is this an Instagram moment? I genuinely had no clue what was happening. By the time I finally received my order, the pizza was luke warm and the whole experience was frustrating. I have no interest dealing with whatever was happening here. I hope they work out the kinks of whatever the heck was going on at this place.

I have visited the museum many times over decades but in the last two years since joining, I've probably visited just as much as I did in all the time prior. There's quality diverse program on top of the standing exhibits in the galleries and visiting ones. I am a born Wilmingtonian and have always enjoyed culture and the arts, which again is why I have frequented this museum many times before, but I think it's a jewel that many locals neglect to appreciate. You don't have to go to the larger regional cities for acclaimed artists as many are here. The proximity to other places of interest in the area, can allow you to enjoy this and many others during a day or weekend trip if you're not local or live outside of the city. Join the mailing list and check the events because there is always something going; the images on my review are from a few of them. I keep saying I'm there so much I should join the team, but this is my way of supporting in sharing this review.

Decided to visit this museum this past Thursday as it was later in the day and a search revealed…read morethat they were open until 8pm on Thursdays (photo attached). Approximately an hour into our visit we were ushered out of one of the exhibits on the first floor and told that exhibit would be closing. Thought it was odd that a particular exhibit in the museum would be closing early, but we complied, simply moving on to other exhibits. At approximately 4:20 we were in a room on the second floor and the lights suddenly went out (pitch black, can't see your hand in front of your face, darkness). We were stunned for a moment before using our phone flashlights to safely exit. We were then met at the door by a confused staff member who stated that the museum had actually closed at 4pm. We began making our way toward the exit, explaining that the website listed that the hours were until 8pm on Thursdays. We were then stopped by a second employee who accused us of having entered the room *after* the lights had been turned off (because, as everyone knows, the best way to view art is in total darkness). She then said that we had already been informed that the museum was closing. ("Exhibit" and "museum" mean different things.) We explained once again that the website listed Thursdays' hours until 8pm. Rather than appreciate the confusion (much less apologize for the communication error), she insisted that we must have been looking at the hours for the following week (not true) and added a superfluous directive to leave (as we were literally stepping toward the exit). Up to this point, we had been enjoying our visit. However, this rude encounter certainly marred our experience
