Crossroad has been around for a while! The staff is always so welcoming and friendly! Great place for the family. Crayons and coooring sheets are always available for the kids. Looking for a greasy spoon with better service and amazing food? Crossroads is your spot. This place is massive inside and holds more tables than it appears from the outside. We were seated right away and picked our breakfast options quickly from the massive menu. Eggs Benedict- For a diner, this is hands down a top 5 hollandaise sauce I've ever had absolutely smothering perfectly poached eggs. Add extra crispy hashbrowns (NOT home fries, thank you!) and that's a perfect plate. The prices are excellent and exceptionally reasonable in this economy; husband and I had breakfast for less than $25 and that's nearly impossible these days. Great service, good stock to your ribs food, will be on the regular breakfast rotation. read more

OK, so this is your basic old dingy run down out of the 1980s diner. A waitress says they're probably about 60+ years old. Very old school style inside. Service was very good. The basic breakfast is very good and simple. I got the eggs Benedict and it was terrible because the hollandaise sauce was Not delicious and had way too much lemon in it !!! My son got a basic breakfast and it was great. He loved it. This is a place a lot of older people and elderly people go to in the morning. I got some fried chicken tenders and some mozzarella sticks, and they were both very good but very simple, nothing unique but a good solid taste. The bill and the price of everything was over $55 and we didn't get that much Justified $65 bill today with a tip? But that's the price of everything nowadays - up and up and up! I would say, if you want to go to a diner and you want something really good and really unique and a fair price may be a better choice would be the Metro diner. This place is just kind of worn out, and simple and hits the spot, but it's not cheap and you will spend a lot of money for a pretty average meal. The menu was pretty straight forward and everything had a great description. It was tough to select just one item. The service was Great. I believe her name was Kayla she just came back from Maternity leave. She was a cute and bubbly brunette with lots of personality and suggestions because it was our first time here. The BBQ burger was awesome AND FRIES OMG yummmmmy. My mom got the tuna and chicken noodle soup. And my chicken cheesesteak hoagie was outstanding. Perfect meal. We came here very hungry after a Sunday morning hike and we're glad we did. We planned on having breakfast but when we saw all of the tempting lunch choices, we decided to get lunch. I had a delicious, savory cheesesteak with cheddar and onions (one of the best I've had in this area) and sweet potato fries, my son had a chicken and cheese quesadilla-which he said was very good, and my husband had a BLT on rye with a side of chicken soup-which he said was very tasty. Our server was friendly, attentive and provided fast service. The portion sizes are very big and it's likely it'll be "your meal for the day" if you come here. Finally, the menu prices are very reasonable considering what it cost to eat out in general these days. All around very good. Come show this diner some love! read more

Let me start off by saying, this is NOT your mom mom and pop pop's Crossroads... lol..... I'm glad they kept the name for nostalgia reasons. Like the owner told me, it's better to keep the memories versus having yet another Wawa or Royal Farms on Kirkwood Highway. Now to the food. I had the Veggie Omelette that came with hash browns and rye toast. I ordered a side corned beef hash.... Everything was excellent. The omelette was full of fresh veggies, and cooked to perfection. The potatoes were seasoned well and crispy.....Just like I like them. The corned beef hash was the star though. Obviously house made. Full of big chunks of corned beef that was tender and delicious. If they did this good, day 1, can't wait to see what they look like in a month read more

Waitress was very nice and attentive. However, the broccoli cheddar soup was barely lukewarm, so I sent it back. That temp is a petri dish for growing bacteria. It'd be better off if it was cold. The soup was promptly taken off the check and replaced with fries, but the waitress chalked it up to "these things happen" and "restaurants can't keep up with all the regulations and you can't really know what all the temperatures are." Well, these things don't have to happen. In fact, restaurants serving the public have a duty to make sure that they don't. My grandmother was hospitalized and almost died from gravy on mashed potatoes that was not the correct temperature. I got severely ill with food poisoning from soup that was not the correct temp. Crossroads, it's called a thermometer. I've seen staff at other restaurants use an IR gun to make sure refrigerated displays are up to temp. You need to do better. This is a place that caters to an elderly population. You are going to kill one of them if you don't stop making excuses and start implementing safe food handling practices. And clean your window sills, replace the torn seats, clean the lighting fixtures and remove the stuffed animals and other grease and dust catching decorations. read more

I love having breakfast here. The staff have been great every time I have been here. I have had the pancakes, omelettes, hash brown, sausage biscuits and gravy, and ham here and all have been prepared just the way I like it. Diner Beware This is not a "1 STAR THEY RUINED MY NIGHT" review, but a detailed report of what happened. We had a party of 8, yes I understand that is a little bit large of a party to handle an hour before a dinner rush (I agree we should have called ahead) but we were treated very poorly when seated. The hostess (who was new) wasn't sure how to handle our party size but we eventually made it work. The food was all over the place in terms of quality. I had an omelet that had ham and pepper/onion, I took a bite and it was ice cold in the center. My lady had 2 eggs and they were the strangest looking scrambled eggs I've seen. We deemed them inedible. The hash browns on both of our plates were severely underdone, yet somehow had rock hard burnt bits mixed within. They must have used frozen or canned food but why offer to make breakfast all day if it's not going to be quality. Just take it off the menu for dinner? My brother ordered a chicken parm with pasta and the waitress asked him if he wanted fries (why?). She insisted that they came with his pasta dinner meal, but shocker, when the food came out.... they were nowhere to be found! My sister ordered a melt sandwich and requested no Swiss. It. had. Swiss. The only positive is that the waitress was attentive to bringing our drinks... something I expect as a usual dining experience. I wanted it to be much better than it was, I have restaurant experience and it doesn't take much to improve in the areas that this business lacks. Maybe this was retribution for us having a large party, maybe the entire business was having a bad day. I'm writing this review in hopes that the business can see this and hopefully improve and so wouldbe diners can set their expectations appropriately. read more

Great Food. Great knowledgeable and pleasant staff. Place is very clean. Busy on Saturday early afternoon but these folks were so efficient that the only way you could tell was we had a 15 minute wait. Once seated we were promptly served. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

How can you say anything bad about a restaurant that has give back Mondays? This place was packed (appeared to be regulars) so I didn't ask a lot of questions but I know next Monday the give back recipient is the Middletown Fire Department. You can see in the picture that last week they raised eight hundred and some dollars for Renee's rescues. Cheesesteak special $7.99. About 5 different cheesesteaks to pick from. I got the bacon cheesesteak. it came with amazing french fries and a pickle. The roll had a little toast on it. The rest was pretty standard. They have give back Mondays. I'll start first by saying our waitress was great. Unfortunately our food was gross!!!! Chicken from the chicken parm tasted old, grilled chicken cesaer salad (same gross old chicken), turkey dinner - crab cakes - all nasty. Even down to the watered down ranch dressing. Took my family of 4 there and it was a $120 lesson learned. We didn't complain, definitely won't be back and want to help someone out if you're reading this....Save your money... What can I say about the new crossroads, that is nice, The decor is exactly the same. That is about it. We were seated withing 5 min of walking in the door. We were handed a very short menu, nothing like a dinner menu. OK iI get it,, Covid. . Then we sat for almost 15 minutes before our waitress even acknowledged our existences. We placed our order, and the drinks came out in drib and drabs, we never got out coffee, even after the waitress confirmed that we wanted it black, no creamer, after delivering the rest of the drink order), Waited another 20 minutes for basic breakfast stables, that is chewy crunchy pancakes, (I still have not figured out how they did that) that were not fluffy. The Omelette was OK, a small cup of fresh fruit (a 1.95 extra for that), and Chicken with Waffles, Well the Waffle was the best thing there that they made. Another 30 min we finally saw our waitress again. She asked if we needed a refill on our coffee. We should have said yes, to see where she was going to pour it, since we never got it in the first place. Were done our meal, paid the bill. Our waitress said when we come back we can get a free cup of coffee. That would never happen, since how would the next waitress know we were due a free cup. We left for the last time. We will never revisit this restaurant again, as this was the last time of four that we had bad service from this re-opened crossroads. read more

We have been customers for a number of years. I think we first went here, when we moved down to Delaware, back in 2007. Not sure! The menu HAS NEVER DISAPPOINTED US!!! this latest visit, I had the sausage and gravy over biscuits and the wife had (spackle?? sprackle? smackle? LOL) and eggs. When we read that it reopened, the next day that the wife was off we visited. SHERRY W. was our waitress and she was, AS USUAL, AWESOME!!!! I remembered her from before the closing last year. We have not tried their takeout service yet. But instead of chinese or pizza maybe we will have this as a takeout a few nights!!! I wonder if they're thinking of a delivery service??? The food was good and the service was ok but the hostess was totally inept. They do not ask seating prefrance and place people where ever. They never asked if we needed a booster seat or highchair for my grandson. When this was mentioned to the hostess, she said no, then she would have to ask everyone. We had a very enjoyable experience here Starting with the staff going out of their way to open doors and find comfortable seating for my honey who is temporarily on crutches,without even being asked. It was plain and simple kindness. The menu is large and varied and very inexpensive but on this visit we decided to both get the same thing: The meatloaf Parmesan platter. When it arrives we were both shocked to see that it was 2 huge pieces of meatloaf topped with tomato sauce and melted provolone cheese. Having never actually seen this version of meatloaf on a menu in Philly or it's closest burbs, we were excited to dive in. It was awesome! And it was accompanied by a side of broccoli and two slices of lightly seasoned garlic bread. We also got either a soup or salad. My clam chowder tasted homemade and it was full of chunks of clams. I was excited when I learned that Crossroads was reopening; it was my favorite diner. Sadly, however, it had been a disappointment. We have come numerous times and each time has been something wrong. This latest time: -Today we waited 15 minutes before a server noticed we had not been waited on and went to get our server. -I never received my coffee. -The "home fries" are really just greasy skimpy hash browns. -My fiancé's pancakes were cooked weird. This place is conveniently located at two major road s but it is very difficult to get in and out of the parking lot. The servers seemed nice enough but I thought it was overpriced for it being a diner for the amount of food I got on my loaded fries and Asian chicken salad. Visiting from out of town and my friend found this place through a quick internet search. Sunday morning and the line stretched to the back of the restaurant, however it moved pretty quickly and we were seated within 10 minutes. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and checked in with us throughout our time there. Our orders consisted of French toast with strawberries and a veggie omelette. The portion for the toast was huge and the omelette came with extra sides. Reason I gave it 4 starts was because I wasn't wowed by the food as I had better before. However, would I come back again? Nothing special about this place, been here a bunch of times and the service has been up and down. Theres been times where it's incredibly slow even on a dead morning. One time it took 20 minutes on a slow Monday morning. When it comes to the food, some of the prices are great. Other times its unreasonable. One time I got the strawberry waffle and it became soggy because of the strawberrys. Overall theres nothing great here, you're better off going somewhere else. Also the board of health had closed this place one time due to roaches, so that should just tell you the type of care that goes on in the kitchen here at crossroads.
