Stopped into this spot with my husband for the first time. I'm always down for a good diner spot and this is DEFINITELY it. The staff were so friendly and provided quick and great service. They were so helpful directing us through the menu and answering any questions. The restaurant itself was buzzing, and you can tell it's loved by the amount of regulars that come in and how the staff interact with them. It felt like a typical diner, but homey! The food was absolutely delicious and hit the spot! So much so that I stopped in the day after to get more of their pancakes! We sat for over 10 minutes with NO SERVICE at all!! asked 2times and the restaurant was not even a quarter full, slow enough that we watched servers playing on their phone!! 3 tables after me had drinks and ordered!! I've been curious about Lucky's for years and finally stopped in for breakfast with a friend. It was really good, I'm glad I finally went. My friend had a western omelette. I had the sausage gravy & biscuits and we shared a sticky bun with pecans. We enjoyed everything. The potatoes were good, the sausage gravy was thick and flavorful. But the afar of the show was definitely the cinnamon bun. It was amazing and gigantic. We also both had & enjoyed caramel lattes. I was invited by a friend. It was my first time there. I was not impressed. The panini had very little meat. It was mostly bread. I can't even tell you what type it was. It was not vegetable. The omelet was tasteless. The eggs seemed watered down. The waitress was excellent. I'm sorry. Maybe I went at the wrong time. It was Sunday after 1pm. I will not go back. A friend brought me to this classic diner for breakfast. It was full looking around at the booths. We sat at the bar, where to my surprise there were alcoholic drinks. I had coffee and ordered a special request, copied beef on a waffle. It's an old favorite of mine from my early days in the Army when you needed a high calorie meal to get through the day. They had a full staff who were busy cooking, bringing food out, keeping the drinks full, and a smile on my face. read more

Nice retro diner style restaurant that appears to have been there for decades and decades. On a Saturday morning we were promptly seated in our party of three to meet some family that was sitting beside us. Everyone we encountered was very friendly but our server was having a bad day. I think she may have been swamped with too many tables and everyone's service suffered. coffee with no cream, eggs scrambled instead of over and we had to call her over several times for refills. She was so nice though that we could see she was struggling and appreciated her effort. Food was as to be expected, good but not great. I had steak and eggs and it was just fine. When I came into this establishment, I felt very unwelcomed as a person of color. Employees were nice, but the costumers were racist. They made it known that I was not welcomed there. I felt so uncomfortable that I didn't even want my order, but however I stayed. Another guest who happens to be white didn't even want to stand next to me and these group of people were giving me the most disgusting look ever as they were eating. The service was overall attentive and courteous. We were meeting some friends for brunch. I prefer the lunch end & my husband prefers the breakfast end. He got the eggs Benedict. He thought it was ok, it had a funny taste he wasn't use to. He couldn't pinpoint it. I got the cali reuben. It was very lovely, i lived the addiction of the avocado to make it creamier. The only thing I was disappointed was the lack of turkey. It was a really thin piece. Went this morning for breakfast with a colleague. Fairly extensive menu with basics all the way to fancy combos. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing and we were able to have a decent breakfast. Server was attentive but not overbearing and we felt that we could take our time, talk easily as the overall volume of noise was low. Don't have occasion to go out for breakfast often, but would certainly go back. I have been to Lucky's at least half a dozen times since I wrote my first review, and I can't get enough of it. Their pancakes are just so perfect - I love them. Here's a better story: I left my wallet there after my first visit, returning the next day to pick it up...and lo and behold, there it was - complete with the $20 bill that had been in there the day before. I left it as a tip - how often can you lose your wallet and have the waitstaff hold it there for you in pristine condition? Pretty tough to buy honesty and integrity, so a place like this that demonstrates it has to get the highest rating in my book. One of these days I will branch out and try the rest of the food but it's just so difficult to branch out from the pancakes. I crave them; the yearning for flat, circular perfection is magnetic, pulling me away from every other menu item. I know I'm fixated but why mess with perfection once you've found it?! read more

I was in town for a vintage shopping trip, and when I drove by Lucky's, I HAD to stop in to make my experience complete. And it did. LOVE LOVE LOVE the vintage decor. If the ball chair, marshmallow sofa, flying saucer lamps ever go on sale, I will be first in line to purchase them. Service was great. Price was fair. Tons of atmosphere. I tried twice. The good, the sticky bun. My initial thought was yum, the lobster roll bun (brioche) with cinnamon, sugar, butter, pecans and raisins. Good, but won't go out of my way for it. First time ate outside during COVID restrictions. It was ok. Heard so many great things about Lucky's figured maybe I didn't order correctly. Ordered again today 9/19/21-pancakes, french toast, potatoes hash, sticky bun, grits. The grits was the best thing; I doctored them up. The pancakes were still white! Undercooked. Offered to recook them for my daughter, she declined. The French toast was mushy-undercooked. The potato hash taste like it was make with/in meat, which is not ok when you don't meat meat. Everything went in trash except the grits and cinnamon roll. Pretty disappointing. Ps: the veggie bacon in photo was made at home ;) read more

I've now had breakfast at Lucky's three times in the past couple months and it's been consistently excellent in service and food. The atmosphere is comfortable, not overly noisy. Today's breakfast was especially delicious, huevos rancheros, served with home fries and slice of avocado. The salsa was delectable, slightly spicy which was perfect and the eggs, beans, and salsa were served on a crispy and tasty tortilla shell. Best of all, my server, Jacqueline (I hope that's the correct spelling of her name), was as pleasant and efficient as could be. I highly recommend a visit there. read more

I've seen this place for many years driving down 202 but never stopped in until now! I had a really pleasant experience. The Vibe: If your from around here and maybe go visit wildwood per say you may get that feeling of being down the shore here which I really like. It feels like a small business that they actually care about. The Food: I got a waffle, home fries and bacon. The waffle was good but a little on the dry side if I have to be critical. I still enjoyed it though. The home fries were perfect, in fact I would call them almost tater tots, so if your into that, than great! And the bacon was bacon, hard to mess up but most always very tasty. I would come back here again some day, very peaceful and inviting. read more

The Joboxers' song "Just Got Lucky" kept playing in my head as we pulled up. Mini college reunion of old friends from UD. We met up here for a Saturday breakfast and didn't have long of a wait. There were 5 of us, so we scored a nice round booth in the back. Funny menu. Staff wore hilarious shirts - wish I'd remembered what they said, but they were LOL - laugh out loud cute. We had a young guy as a server, but he did a great job coralling all of our coffees and waters and orders and lots of side dishes. I ordered the Monte Cristo and enjoyed it, though it was a tad sweet for me (maybe a little accidental too much of cinnamon?). I'm Sorry to say, I'm going to take Luckys off my list due to unsanitary conditions. I sent a private message to business due to the filthy blinds and windowsills and today, the bathrooms were smelly and the toilets had built up "rings". Cleanliness is an important factor for me in choosing an eatery. If a floors, window sills and blinds, and it's bathrooms are not sanitary, it does not make me feel good about food that is prepared. Maybe I'll try again in a few months to see if there is any improvement. Noticing not busy at all during peak lunch time, so maybe others feel similar to me? read more

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as the experts tell us. So I trusted the experts at Lucky's to ensure that my meal was quality. And it was. Not much business on a weekday morning before work hours, so there were no issues with parking and plenty of booths and tables available. I chose the mushroom and swiss omelet, which came with potatoes and a biscuit. The omelet was nice and large, very good quality and quantity. The potatoes were cubed pieces that had been fried. Nice and crunchy, good for soaking up ketchup. And the biscuit was good, though as a Southerner I would say that I have had better biscuits and be okay. Coffee was good, but the cups are small and need refilling often. Service was good. I'd return here for sure! read more

This small coffee shop has more of a diner feel to it. There is a big private lot, plenty of parking; inside is very clean, open, smaller than I expected. Surprisingly there is a bar! The menu is very cute with little quirky sayings on common items. We were seated almost promptly and our waitress took our order. I opted for a hot tea and the Monte cristo; which came with deep fried seasoned home fries. I enjoyed my meal, nothing really special about the Monte cristo; my favorite part had to have been the deep fried home fries. My bf ordered a coffee and the meat lovers omelet and instead of toast it comes with a cinnamon sugar sprinkled over a biscuit. He didn't care much for the coffee and when I tasted it, it was a bit burnt or old. We didn't see much of our waitress but when we did she was very polite and our orders came out pretty fast. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be returning and it has nothing to do with the food, but the kitchen was connected to the dining area and when we left our jackets and skin had absorbed the fried oil smell from the kitchen. I def don't recommend going anywhere after eating here, you will probably smell all day. On a positive note the prices were very reasonable and not small portions. I just wish that our waitress would've refilled our drinks when she came by. read more
