This location is similar to the others with an efficient staff, reasonable prices, and excellent taste! I really must check this chain out more often. They always do a consistently good job with their subs (hoagies). The pastrami one I had was great because it had a sweet and savory taste and was just the right size for my appetite. The pastrami is warm and the coleslaw is a little bit cold so I had that hot and cold vibe going. All the flavors are spot on and they complement each other well. I had a Soda and a side of chips and I was set to go. If you entertain, I would highly recommend this place to cater for sandwiches. You won't be disappointed! read more

The food is good but the people who work at this location are not very pleasant or friendly.

My family has been coming to Capriotti's for years. I have only eaten it on an occasion and have always liked it. While it is not my first choice when getting take out, it is good for a sandwich shop. My favorite part is that the turkey is real chunks of turkey and not cold cuts! However, the turkey on my most recent sandwich from this location was dry. I have to been to three different locations in Delaware and they are all similar. They are small with a counter to order and no place to sit. It is definitely a to-go place. The service is always friendly and fast. If you have the chance to go to Capriotti's it is worth a try, but I would not go out of my way to come here. read more

Beware when you order online. Best if you don't order online. Last week I ordered a medium cheesesteak on their website for pick up. My credit card was charged $16.69 for the medium sandwich even though the receipt showed $13.29. I called the shop and spoke with the manager. She retrieved my order info and receipt and said she would talk with their IT department and get back to me. The manager never called me back. I called a few days later and left my contact info. Recently I visited Capriotti's and ordered the Italian Sausage sandwich. The staff are extremely friendly and while they were preparing my sandwich we had a great discussion on east coast sandwiches. Once I received my sandwich, I immediately notice the weight of this sandwich...it's packed full. I tasted it and wow, wonderful flavor. Great meat to veggie ratio. This sandwich is excellent, I highly recommend. However, the only part to my mind that was not excellent was the bread. But this depends on personal preference, I prefer a firmer bread as the sauce (which tastes wonderful) softens the bread a little too much. Again this is personal preference. My brother-in-law took us to Capriotti's while we were in Delaware. The shop offers limited seating and quite a few of the patrons if not all were carrying out orders. I did feel slightly rushed by the staff member taking orders (because he asked over and over again if we were ready), but was happy with what I ordered. My mother-in-law enjoyed her salad. the ingredients were fresh and she had leftovers due to the generous size. I loved how tender the shredded turkey was in my brother-in-law's Col(slaw) Turkey sub (he was kind enough to let me have a bite or two!). The Hubby made a fantastic decision going for the Bobbie. It truly was reminiscent of Thanksgiving leftovers. I loved the cranberry sauce! My cheese steak was phenomenal, it was packed with meat and I really liked the pepper relish I asked for on the side. I was also impressed with how hardy the sandwich bread was; enough to hold all of the meat and toppings of each sandwich. Already planning my next trip! read more

I ordered an Italian sub which I received on a half stale roll with hardly any meat or cheese in it. I grew up in Delaware eating Capriotti's, having the roll stuffed with the meat & cheese to the point that you would need to unhinged your jaw to take a bite. I'm an idiot for coming back to this location after previous issues. I call. No answer. Should've called another place. Instead, wanting to bring a Bobbie home to those who enjoy it, I use my DD app, pay extra fees and order. Give them the time quoted, get there, its a disorganized zoo. The woman with short blonde hair talking like she's a manager.. is talking trash to a counter full of patrons about how "this location gets the worst reviews... yet they have the highest revenues..." Getting bad reviews isn't something I'd announce.. guess she wanted to make sure those who didn't see it knew about it. I expect to wait a bit seeing how busy it is. After standing there for 12+ minutes I ask, is my order actually started because I'm ok with canceling. "Its almost done.. its 1/2 way there" LIE. Another 5-6 minutes, I go to the counter again.. "really its ok... if it isn't started, I'd like to cancel" Short blonde woman says, "its almost done.. its right here.. its busy.." Sure that's what you should say to a customer who's waiting.. after another 2 minutes hands me my pre-paid sandwiches no apologies and says.. ready for this? "Its only 10 minutes late!" The problem with this place is leadership. Working in restaurants for 40 years, I take note of the good workers here of which there are several. The leadership sucks and has been weak for years, yet the community won't drive another 10 mins and go elsewhere. Corporate has no incentive to make any changes here as long as the numbers are there. $33 for 2 medium sandwiches and all I feel is regret for ever going there today. Praying I remember today's pitiful experience and rude, bulgy-eyed comments from the short blonde woman who's "been there 44 years" who I wouldn't have work for me for 5 minutes in any of the dozen+ places I've managed. Things happen. Its the last Eagles game of the season. Its busy for sure which is why a popular place prepares for an expected busy day. When things are backed up, be conciliatory, not combative with the customer like its their stupid fault for coming in and expecting service because after all its the customers' fault the store is busy. If this short blonde woman's head was in the right space about her job and her role, she should be happy its busy, after all, it ensures her continued employment, should sympathize with the customer who placed the order. 35+ minutes ago, been standing in the store for 20+ minutes and not complain about how busy she is, going on and on about there being "one grill"... her strategy of getting the paying customer to sympathize with HER, who's working getting paid to do a job is messed up and tolerated by her employer and for that matter, the clientele. I will never return to this store. Here's another bad review for your location. If i want a Bobbie.. I will drive further to get one, and i'm going to guess you'd say "good riddens". Just ordered from here for the first time! Well it's now the last! A half of cheesesteak was exactly 3 1/2" long! $7.00. I called and they said DoorDash adds 20% to their menu prices. I verified with DoorDash and that's not true the restaurant sets the prices. Casapulla has a 12" cheesesteak for $9 better quality and more meat! Ralph Ralph Ralph Ralph Ralph... did I mention Ralph? I have been eating these subs since I grew teeth. I have been to 3 different locations now but there's none like wherever Ralph is. Don't get me wrong, the ladies at Silverside can make a decent sandwich but I must say I'm bias. I have driven 5hrs across 4 states to get a handmade turkey sub from Ralph. Chicken cheesesteak too. Capriottis literally, not figuratively, uses the best and fresh ingredients. The rolls are unmatched. If I order it dry with the oil on the side I can snack on a large for 3 days and day 3 is as satisfying as day one. Not a huge fan of the impossible meat but hey, vegans need love too I guess. I saw a few comments about the service, when it's busy it can get a little hectic but they will simmer down if you give them a chance. It's a sandwich shop not a steak house so relax a little. And yes, it is true grub hub prices are always higher for food, this isn't just this restaurant is mostly all of them so just call in and pick it up. Their food is better, everyone and they treat their patrons with respect. Just FYI, AVOID this location at ALL costs. So a couple of days ago I was looking for a Capriotti's location to get a sub. I was introduced to the franchise through the Union Street location, but the last time I was there, the food was nasty and the staff there were rude, unapologetically forgetful, and spiteful. No shade, but I knew I was never going to support that location again before I even recieved my order. I digress.... Anyhow. I had tried the Capriotti's in Las Vegas and it was nasty too. They gave me a sandwich with nothing but lettuce and veggie turkey. No sauce, no mayo, no seasonings, nothing but bread. Sad. I always thought sandwiches were a safe food or a sure thing, but I guess any food can be messed up if the wrong person is making it. At this point, I hadn't had a decent sub in 5 years because I was living in Cali and people there go to Subway for subs What does a woman have to do to get a decent sub? Who do I gotta see about that? So I said to myself, "Capriotti's is a franchise, therefore, each one is run a little different. Try another one if you don't like how one franchise does business because the brand is solid." So I went to the Silverside Road location to give Capriotti's one last chance. I'm so glad I went to this location. Anthony greeted me from behind the counter when I walked in. Anthony had good and genuine eye contact and a calm demeanor. All staff seemed pleasant. He prepared my vegetarian Turkey sub and this sandwich he made me was so good that I wanted to cry when I got home after I took my first bite. Bible!!! This sandwich was so delicious that I wanted to keep eating it after I was no longer hungry. This sandwich was so delicious and smelled so good that my neighbor's mean dog didn't want to get off the elevator because he could smell it through the bag. This sandwich is a gut buster. A gut buster is any meal that makes you keep eating even after you're no longer hungry. The true test for me in terms of if a sub was made correctly happens when I eat the other half the next day, then will it be a soggy mess or will it have strong remnants of greatness from the day before? This sandwich passed the test and it tasted incredible the next day for lunch too. Even coworker said it smelled good and asked where I got the sub. It even smelled the same the next day. Everything stayed in tact. This little gem of a shop is now my new favorite Capriottiz's. First day sandwich gets 5/5 rating, next day sandwich gets 5/5 rating. This is now my go to sub shop! Capriotti's before they went corporate, used to be a great sandwich. Now they are meatless and just rolls with condiments in them. It is totally obvious they are cutting cost, but they are the most expensive meatless rolls on the market. We are going back to the local deli, where they started to get what we pay for. Capriotti's is apparently native to the Wilmington area, so I'm told. They've since expanded massively. I even managed to get to one in Milwaukee, of all places. Today, my customer brought me here and suggested the Bobbie. Great choice. It really is Thanksgiving on a roll except for the gravy. Oh, so tasty. Oh, so filling. Oh, so many carbs. Stuffing on a sandwich? YES. Turkey and cranberry on a sandwich? YES. Zzzzzzz... The medium is actually quite large. And for someone like me who can pack it away, trust me that you can probably get away with a small one here. This is a take-out only location. No seating available. We got a large wagyu cheesesteak with fried onions and (this may have been a mistake on my part) provolone cheese. It has a very long roll. It did not pass the eye test. When I unwrapped it all I saw was the very long roll. The meat was good. Getting fried onions may have also been a mistake because I tasted a lot of fried onions. I think the hardiness of the provolone cheese took away from the tenderness of the wagyu beef. I'll take the hit for ordering provolone cheese. I think Capriotti's could really help themselves by having a suggested way to order your American wagyu beef cheesesteak. I am pretty sure that 90% of the Cheesesteak eating population doesn't know what Wagyu beef is and/or the best way to order it. We are glad we tried hangman Brewing. Well, I have been saying for a while, after the family owned business goes to corporate run business... you know for bottom line improvements, there will be some changes.. I was disappointed when they switched the Veggie burger patty to some other brand.. and over the years both quality and quantity both going down, only thing is going up is price. this place offered some good vegetarian subs so I kept going back, but finally I found the alternative, Its Casapulla Subs, they make my Veggie cheese steak just the way I like it..Veggie Patty chopped up like a steak with fried onion and mushrooms with american cheese and ketchup. ummmm good. The sandwiches here are HUGE! Even though small is 9", medium is 12", and large is 20"... they seem a lot bigger than that because they stuff these sandwiches so it feels like you're eating a cube. Two smalls was the perfect size for three people. The Bobby: cold thanksgiving sub filled with turkey, stuffing, and raspberry jam! I've never had a sandwich like this before and it was packed, very good though. I really liked the jam, the stuffing was dense, and the turkey wasn't too dry. Grilled Italian: toasted Italian sub filled with a lot of meat, grilled onions, seasoned tomatoes, and lettuce. It was literally steaming while we were eating it. Overall good sub, I kind of wish the meat and lettuce were more even distributed though so I could get a good meat to vegetable ratio with each bite. Yum! This place is the king of subs. I had some party subs at a NYE party in Delaware. I asked where they were from, and was told Capriottis. The wife and I went. There isn't seating, it's order ahead, or to go only. I snagged a large classic Italian, and the wife got a large Bobbie. We were asked if we knew how big the sandwiches were. We said yes. They are huge. This place isn't like other sub places. You aren't paying for a sub full of bread, and limited ingredients. You get a sub roll with little bread loaded with meats, cheeses, and whatever else you want in it. I would highly suggest adding some of their hot pepper relish in the sub for a spicy zing that sets this apart from other places. My wife said the Bobby was great. Like the posts it's thanksgiving dinner in a sub. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry, and mayonnaise. There was a sign inside stating that they were short staffed and to be patient. Tried to place an order online. Spent 15 minutes making my selection only to get a message at checkout that they were not accepting online orders between 4 and 6 and to call in to place an order. Tried to call in only to find that they take the phone off the hook and don't take any calls If your going to have online ordering and shut it down how about not wasting customers time and just put the message at the beginning. Also if you say to call in maybe have someone to answer the phone. When customers want to support your business give them the courtesy of good customer service.
